"Ugh!" Sean grunted as soon as he wakes up. The sun is already shining up above as its rays hit his face.
But instead of opening his eyes to greet the sun, he remained his eyes closed as memories of one month ago reverberates in his mind.
After seeing the picture of Gabe and Kaycee kissing inside their favorite diner, his heart stings as his body feels numb. He's hurt, and Kaycee didn't seem to care. Why? Because she chose to ignore his messages and calls to meet up with Gabe. He felt betrayed. He felt cheated.
Tears were about to fall from his eyes after recalling what had happened that night. He wanted to talk to her, but he drops his phone in the park where Tati brought him and wasn't able to buy another one when the issue of Gabe and Kaycee started spreading out like wildfire. And up until now, he still has no phone to contact anyone.
He opened his eyes as he stared at the ceiling, letting his tears fall from his eyes. So, instead of remembering about the past, he decided to recall what happened last night. He was still on the verge of remembering what happened to him when he felt a sudden move just beside him.
Out of shock, he immediately jumps off the bed as his head throb. How did he end up sleeping with someone? Why can't he remember anything? Is he that drunk?!
"W-who are y-you?" He asked out of curiosity as he saw the person underneath the blanket move and stretched. "H-how did we end up h-here? Did we do something?!" He's starting to get scared because he can't remember anything clearly. Just faint memories of yesterday night, partying and getting drunk.
"I missed you so so much, Sean. So, can you not shout and come back to bed?" His jaw almost drops as soon as the person removed the blanket that is covering her face.
Kaycee.
Is he hallucinating things? Or he's just dreaming? No. Maybe, he's still drunk and not fully sober up.
"You're not dreaming. You're not hallucinating. You're sobered up now. Now, start explaining why the heck you denied my calls and messages."
It was Kaycee! His Kaycee!
But instead of answering, he pounces towards the bed and wraps his arms around Kaycee. He missed him so much, and the one month of not communicating with her is the worst time of his life. Why? Because he was hurting. And he felt abandoned when Kaycee didn't even bother visiting her. It hurt him badly.
"I thought I'd never see you again." He whispered under his breath without even letting her go.
"I should be the one telling you that. You didn't bother replying to my messages or even calling me back. You even turned your phone off!" Kaycee shouted and pushed him away. What was that for?
"You abandoned me for a month, Sean. And if Bailey didn't visit me yesterday, I wouldn't be able to know your location..." Then she grabbed her phone and started scanning through it. After searching for what she's looking for, she showed her phone in his face. "And this? Did you decide to ignore me because of Tati? Is that it?!"
Sean wasn't able to respond immediately as he stared at the picture of him, drunk, with Tati and other teenagers.
"Can't answer me?" Kaycee asked, a bit irritated.
"I lost my phone the day when I saw your picture with Gabe kissing at our favorite diner. I wasn't able to buy another phone and stayed at Josh's house. I'm sorry if that made you think that I abandoned you. I'm deeply sorry, Kays." He explained, making Kaycee unable to speak.
Sean thought to himself that Kaycee doesn't look mad at him or anything. Instead, she looked so sad and worried that it made him concerned at the same time.
"I should be the one who's sorcery, Sean. I got myself in trouble, putting our relationship at stake. But you have to believe me." She said as she grabs both of his hands and squeezes it lightly. "Gabe and I didn't kiss in the diner. I won't make the same mistake twice, Sean, and I know that you already know about that."
He pouted as his heart started to beat fast, making him fall for her over and over and over again.
His cheeks burned as they maintain eye contact, trying to read each other's emotions.
"Then, why did you meet up with him?" He asked, trying to stop his emotion from exploding into his system that could paralyze his being.
"He called me, and I decided to tell him about us so he'll stop bugging me about his feelings towards me. I know that Gabe and I had this connection, but I only consider him as my bro, my best friend. I didn't know that he likes me, but I don't feel the same. So, instead of making him wait, I decided to meet up with him in the diner to settle things between us... Not until he decided to do that and made everyone believe that something is going on between him and me. I'm deeply sorry, Sean."
Kaycee wanted to cry as she recalled everything that had happened a month ago. If she had made things clear in the first place, these things wouldn't have happened.
"But you love me, right?" Sean asked as they didn't break eye contact. He wanted assurance if she still loves him or not. Besides, a month of mo communication with each other can change the relationship between individuals.
"Of course I love you! You're the man I love and will always do." Kaycee answered with so much happiness and adoration as she gave him her sweetest smile, only a Kaycee Rice could offer him.
"Then, that's enough for me to hear today. I missed you so so so so much!" He answered back as he caressed her hair and kissed her forehead. They remained in that position for a minute before they started laughing at the thing that had happened.
"Now that I think about it, where are we?" Sean asked as he roams around the room. He even glances outside the win down, trying to recall the neighborhood.
"Were in Bailey's own house." Bailey already stays in a separate house with her family because she's doing many things lately, making her able to earn a lot of money, and her mom gave the place as a gift for her.
"So, what do you want to do now?" Kaycee asked as they stood in front of the window, facing each other.
Then an idea popped out of Sean's head as he stared deeply into her face. Have you encountered that feeling where you got to stare at people's faces, and then you could think clearly?
"I want to dance again with you. And I got the perfect song to dance to. Now come on, we need to practice now!"
Sean shouted excitedly as they stormed out of the room and met Bailey at the kitchen, busy making her vegan food for breakfast.
"Do you have your dance studio here?" He asked, and Bailey nodded and pointed the direction.
They immediately went to the last door facing a simple painting, and when they opened it, a broad smile creeps on Sean's head as steps started to flow in his head.
