AKARI
"Akari!" Kai Shouted.
"Snap out of it, we need to get out of here immediately!" he exclaimed pulling me out of my daze.
Kai Hōzuki and I were on a mission to gather intel on the stone village. The mission was ranked S ranked because of the risks that were included. If we were caught it can start another shinobi war.
Ever since Yagura became Mizukage the village has taken a dark path and he himself has become a dark entity.
In truth, Yagura and I barely speak anymore unless we have training sessions. Well at least he held up his deal.
I've become real cold hearted in the last few years and I really do think its because of the training, the lies and the pain of it all plaguing my mind.
I've learnt that I was adopted and that part really did hurt the most.
That's my life I guess. I no longer go by the Yuki clan name it's just Akari now. What a waste.
My birthday is in 11 weeks but that isn't my focus right now.
"Kai we need to get rid of them! If they make it back to the stone there's a great chance the stone will wage war on the mist village." I stated.
"Okay boss which formation?"
Kai and I were the best team. When Yagura assigned this mission he allowed me one partner. Normally I work alone but Kai helps me focus.
Plus he's a strong ninja on the battle field.
Since this is my mission I've been assigned team captain but Kai takes this boss thing to serious.
"Formation C, and we gotta make it quick, time matters"
"Got it boss." And with that he disappeared into the trees. My role in this formation is assassination and I'm pretty good at it to.
Kai is to aid me in this battle by shielding me from attacks. We've practised a lot now it's time to test it out.
Jumping from branch to branch I can finally see the three stone ninja running on the ground below me.
Time to get their attention.
I reached into my pouch and grabbed three kunais and twirled them around my fingers.
"Show time." I whispered launching each kunai towards the stone ninjas running on the ground but as I expected each ninja separated dodging the kunais.
They stopped facing the branch I was in holding a fighting stance.
"You know you guys are pretty slow." I began jumping out of the tree. The ninja in the middle retorted, "You know you are pretty dumb to challenge three ninjas by yourself little girl." He stared into my eyes angrily.
I hissed,"Never, Underestimate me!"
"Windstyle! Great Wind Breakthrough!" I yell.
They attempted to counter act my jutsu. "Earth style! Mud wall!
I smirked. What they didn't know was that I myself am a earthstyle user. "Your earth style is weak for a jounin." I said to the ninja who casted the jutsu.
"Earthstyle! Pebble Barrage!" I announced.
The shock was evident on each of their faces. I guess they didn't think i was also an earth style user.
I found out I had earth chakra 3 years ago and after Yagura became mizukage I ended up training with a ninja who worked as a spy for the hidden mist. The ninja gathered intel on the stone and I took the advantage of training with him.
After I announced my jutsu pebbles were lifted in the air and launched at my opponents at top speed.
The weakest link in their team was taken down. Pebbles passed through his torso ultimately killing him. The other two ninjas jumped into the air dodging the attack.
"Foku!" A stone ninja shouted.
I fixed myself into a my fighting stance. " One down, Two to go." I muttered. "We have to take her on together." A stone ninja announced.
I smirked. "You've seemed to understand my power, great choice......but......You die here!"
One of the ninjas stepped forward and began weaving hand signs. These signs I knew so well.
He announced his jutsu, "Firestyle! Fire dragon jutsu!" He inhaled and a stream of fire raced in my direction. I smirked countering his attack at the same speed.
"Waterstyle! Water Wall Jutsu!" I took a deep breath exhaling an extreme amount of water which created a wall made of water to successfully defend me from the fire jutsu.
The fire jutsu clashed into the wall of water and died down in a matter of seconds.
His firestyle isn't his best forte. Noted. As I made my note his teammate rushed towards me from behind. My eyes moved quickly to anticipate his moves.
He's coming with a kunai in hand. Close range combat. I reached into my ninja pouch and grabbed my kunai. In 2 seconds our kunais clashed. Shit!
It was a distraction. The other ninja came and launched his leg kicking me in the shoulder. I went flying into a tree meters away. His strength in Taijutsu was incredible. As I struggled to my feet he came again this time he went flying. Kai landed in front of me.
"Need help boss?" he asked.
"No." I answered. He laughed.
I could've easily dodged that attack but hey were a team so. I rose to my feet quickly and noticed the ninjas were together.
They rushed at me again. This time I'm ending it. "Kai create a diversion." he nodded.
"Waterstyle! Water clone jutsu!" He made his hand signs and announced. Kai and his clone rushed towards the stone ninja and fought them using taijutsu. Taijutsu was Kai's specialty.
I need to build and focus my chakra.
"KAI!!!" I exclaimed. "Gotcha!" he responded jumping to the highest tree branch as I used my new special jutsu.
"Earthstyle! Rock Bed Of Thorns!" I slammed my palms into the floor and Spikes of rocks grew out of the floor like thorns impaling them both in the process.
"Checkmate." I said looking at the ninjas.
Kai jumped down and looked my way, "New Jutsu?" I smirked. "Yeah think you could beat that?" I asked.
He smirked right back at me. "One day." We went through the thorns of rock to make sure they were dead and to my surprise one wasn't. The ninja impaled on the rock coughed out huge amounts of blood before looking into my eyes.
"It seems...." he coughed up some more blood. "It seems we underestimated you." I tilted my head.
"Yes you did." And with my words his head lowered and he was dead.
"We need to head back, we have a long journey ahead of us." Kai stated and I nodded in compliance.
As we cleared the bed of thorns I faced the gruesome scene and made the rat hand seal.
"Retract!" I announced and each thorn retracted back into the earth causing the bodies of the stone ninjas to hit the floor.
"Let's get out of here." I told Kai and so we did.
We headed out on our journey back. Every minute that passes for us to get out of Iwagakure and back to Kirigakure matters. Time matters.
