1. Sorry for the delay, the weekend and work drained me lol.
2. This chapter is filthy. Verbal mostly but yes, I think a fair warning is needed!
3. Enjoy
-Cara-
A dark groan roared its way out of Keegan when she had accidentally said his name. The intensely pleased response she received from him caused her to shudder and she lost her breath. She hadn't been able to control herself from kissing him again. It had just happened.
Strangely, his groan made her feel safe. Slowly, she started to realize that maybe he was safety to her. Was that the reason for why she felt drawn to him? Besides his good looks and dark husky voice?
The feeling of Keegan's hands digging into her waist sent delicious ripples through her body and they all ended up in the same place; between her thighs.
She relentlessly and shamelessly craved more. His hands needed to be everywhere and not just at her waist. She wanted them all over her. She wanted him to pull her closer, so close that she couldn't feel anything between them.
A part deep inside of her wanted him to crush her against his body.
It felt like the tighter he held her, the less lost and confused she felt. Being in Keegan's arms made her feel protected and it soothed the constant feeling of anxiety.
Everything that caused her so much worry poured out of her for every second he held her. The mystery of where she was, how she got there and why she was here faded with the sensation of his soft lips pressed against hers. At the very least it made her forget about it for a moment.
But the best aspect of being in his embrace was how good it felt to be touched. It felt like eons had passed since the last time Cara had felt the closeness of someone else. Although she was surrounded by Keegan and his family almost all the time, she felt quite alone. Mainly because no one understood her and vice versa.
The sound of voices approaching the house disturbed them in the middle of their heated kiss. Cara felt her hair fall down her back as Keegan angled her face upwards a little so he could take what pleased him. She sensed how he noticed the voices as well because he was prolonging the kiss for as long as he could.
He tastes so good... She moaned internally and felt so disappointed that they would have to stop this. Her body melted into his and she placed her right hand against his cheek and stroked his cheek with her thumb, just below his eye. It feels like I have kissed him hundred times before... and still...
As the kiss slowly reached its end, she thought that was it. However, Keegan didn't let go of her, instead he kept her close. A very light moan left her when she couldn't feel anything else than how much she wanted him, without their clothes. She was so ready for him that it almost made her want to cry.
To her filthy nature's joy, she felt him press against her abdomen. Rock hard and screaming silently for release. It was impossible to miss that Keegan was as ready for her as she was for him.
"Stop that." He moaned when he heard her moaning against his lips. The sound of his voice revealed that he was exactly as weak as she was. His left hand was slowly heading downwards to her butt and every millimeter he touched sent strong jolts of hunger through her.
Cara inhaled through her nose and licked him over his lips, begging and pleading him for more. His hand, just about to cup her right butt cheek, tensed up and she thought she felt him twitch in his pants.
"Keegan!" It was Flynn. From the sound of his voice he was close, to be exact, it sounded like he was heading their way around the house.
"I will kill him." Keegan snarled against her lips. She exhaled, thinking it was definitely over this time... but Keegan crashed his lips onto hers for the last time.
It was a sudden and quick but wonderfully intense kiss. "I wish I could ..." He muttered so darkly in between her lips that it made her whimper from lust. "Stop it, Cara. Or I won't care if he sees me rip your clothes off you."
She gasped at the harsh words she didn't understand, but from the tone of his voice she deduced that he was warning her of something.
"Keegan!" Flynn shouted again and made them wince in each other's arms. They both withdrew themselves from each other, very reluctantly, and sobered up at the same time. Keegan averted his beautiful green eyes for a second and then lowered them. He took a step away from her.
Cara couldn't deny the overwhelming feeling of disappointment washing over her when the cool night air hit her skin where his hands had just been. It felt so cold now that his warmth ran off her. Especially on her ass, where she had been dying to feel his large hand explore her.
She shook her head discreetly, when he didn't see, with the intention to be rid of him from her mind and what he had done to her. It didn't go so well, and she gave into herself and the urge to look at him.
At the exact same time they glanced at each other. Cara averted her eyes immediately, suddenly very shy even though she had devoured him a moment ago. Keegan followed her lead and sighed loudly. In the corner of her eye she could see him rub his neck, noticeably frustrated over the interruption.
Afterwards they both looked up towards where Flynn would appear any minute.
He rounded the corner of the house shortly after. He hadn't seen them by the stream yet, but that would only last for a matter of seconds.
Cara pressed her lips together in a pout and studied Keegan. Still yearning for his touch she gasped discreetly to herself when she saw how a very specific pattern of him screamed for release. He was so hard, and it was so easy to see through his trousers. The contours of his manhood was mouthwatering and made her bite her chin.
Look at that! She thought to herself as she eyed his crotch for a second. Her body was experiencing warm waves, rolling through her entire nerve system, they ended and painfully gathered at her core. To think that I could have... Arh... Flynn you cock blocker!
Keegan caught her looking down at his trousers. His first reaction was a teasing look and a crooked smile, but then he realized that he had to conceal his hard on from his little brother, who was going to see them within the blink of an eye. The boy was searching for them with his gaze.
"Shit...!" Keegan hissed and Cara had to cover her mouth with her hand in order to suppress a giggle. "Uhm..." He mumbled and tried to figure out how to save himself from the upcoming embarrassment. Cara just watched in amusement until he gave up and threw one last look towards Flynn.
"There you are!" Flynn shouted at the exact same time. It sounded like he slurred a bit and Cara remembered that the boy had been drinking, and probably more than the one tankard she saw him order.
"Stay where you are, Flynn!" Keegan shouted up at his brother. "Fuck!"He hissed something quietly and pulled his hands through his red hair.
I'd take a not so wild chance and guess that was a 'fuck'... She thought to herself and fought the urge to bite her lip as she threw a glance at his erection before it he would manage to calm down from their intense make-out session.
"What? Why?" Flynn questioned Keegan and started walking towards them.
"She's... her clothes are ruined. Do not come down here!" Keegan shouted.
Flynn stopped and thought about whatever his brother had said.
"What about it? She's wearing your coat? She's perfectly decent."
-Keegan-
The stubborn little snot of a boy didn't listen. He had been drinking and that was enough for Flynn's reason to fly out the window. He was now on his way down with decisive steps.
"Do you want mother to find out how much you've had?" Keegan shouted desperately and tried his best to conceal the panic in his voice.
The threat was cowardly, but he couldn't let Flynn see what Cara had spotted with great ease. It was even more important to keep him from finding out that she was the one who had caused him to grow so hard. He could feel a small wet spot against his tip where he had leaked due to how hungry Cara made him. Thankfully that couldn't be seen on his trousers.
"That's low, Keegan. Even for you." Flynn moaned. Fine! I'll just shout it from here then! There's a problem, or to be precise; you have a problem."
"What do you mean 'there's a problem'?" Keegan asked confused. "Did something happen after we left?"
His brother smirked but when Keegan narrowed his eyes at him the smirk faded drastically.
"Did Smith say something about me and Jared?" He asked.
"No. I don't even think he noticed. He was out back when that happened. No, it's Jared." Flynn answered.
"What about him?" Keegan growled and felt his whole body tense up, and not in the amazing way Cara had managed to do.
"He got really angry after you two left." Flynn began and scratched his neck uncomfortably. He nodded at Cara and gave her a kind smile but she looked worried, as if she had understood what he had said. Which was in itself ridiculous since she understood about two words of the common tongue.
What irrevocably stupid thing did Jared do now? Keegan thought but hid his anger from Flynn and Cara.
"He began telling..." Flynn abruptly stopped talking for a moment. He took a deep breath before he reluctantly continued. "Orla tried to calm him down b-but..."
Flynn was clearly worried about giving his older brother the news. He normally didn't stutter. Only if he was very nervous or extremely excited about something.
From the way he was acting it almost seemed like he was afraid if getting the same treatment as Jared.
"Spit it out, Flynn. For heavens sake." Keegan ordered him. "I need to know how much damage he caused."
"He told some of the others about Cara." Flynn finally blurted out. He exhaled deeply afterwards. "And he told them all of it. Well not all of it, but quite a lot."
Keegan's body went stiff.
Why the fuck would he do that? Is he that immature? Maybe he is jealous...? Cara is uncomfortable around him, and maybe he noticed that she... No. Orla wouldn't tell him what she told me about Cara. Keegan interrupted his chaotic thoughts and tried to stay focused.
"How many did he tell?" He asked in return and rubbed his forehead. "And who did he tell?" That was a better question.
"Like four or five of your friends." Flynn answered. "I definitely saw him talking to John and Fergus."
"None of the elders?" Keegan asked in surprise. Internally he was roaring with frustration.
He would have guessed that Jared would try to do as much damage as he possibly could as revenge, if causing Keegan and his family trouble was his intention... or if he simply wished to fuck over Keegan.
If Jared had just told their friends about Cara then there might be hope that he hadn't done too much damage. It would have been much worse if he had told some of the elders since they would have demanded to see her themselves.
However, Keegan still had to make sure that whomever Jared had told, didn't tell their parents or any one else.
How he and his siblings found Cara needed to remain a secret, or else they would have to explain themselves or risk being excluded as a result of it. Or it could go even worse; Cara could be run out of the village, especially if everyone thought she was a witch.
I need to make sure that the old teacher doesn't spread his delusions as well... Keegan thought.
He hoped his mother had done the talking for him.
The only positive thing right now is that Jared doesn't know about the witch-thing...
"Are you seriously going to tell mother about how much I had to drink?" Flynn's question woke Keegan from his spinning mind.
His little brother was looking at him with eyes filled with what looked like hopelessness.
"No, Flynn. I'm not going to tell mother..." Keegan sighed. "Just... go to bed before she finds you. With my usual luck it will probably be my head she bites off if she find out how drunk you are." He muttered and watched his brother relax with every word that left his mouth.
. . .
The next day Keegan went alone to go and find Jared. His parents pushed him to bring Cara but he couldn't have her at his side if he was to confront Jared. They had finally gave up and told his siblings to take her to the old teacher. Apparently he would see her, so Keegan's mother must have shared more than a piece of her mind with him.
As Keegan walked to Jared's house his chest felt tight and his fists was already twisting from the urge to keep Jared quiet. be it through words or physical instruction.
I need to calm down. If I punch him again I might do even more damage than I already have, and he might never speak to me again. He thought to himself when he realized that his thoughts were a bit too aggressive.
. . .
"What are you doing here, you brute?" Jared's mother spat when she had opened the door and recognized Keegan.
"I need to see Jared." He answered. Her agitated and rude behaviour did not help with his own bad mood but he managed to sound polite.
"What for? There's barely anything left of his nose! What could you possibly need to see him for? Do you want to finish what you started?" Jared's mother hissed and crossed her arms over her chest.
"All I can tell you is that he deserved it, Ellenor." Keegan answered as calmly as he could, but he was fuming on the inside. "If Jared had known when to shut that big mouth of his, he wouldn't get into so much trouble, and that is something he did a lot before I started hitting him." Keegan defended himself. "You know that as well as I do."
Jared's mother pressed her lips together. She was well aware of her son's inability to stop talking when it would benefit him the most.
"He's not here." She finally said in a groan.
"Where is he?" He asked confused. Jared rarely went anywhere before seeing Keegan.
"He went to the lake." She muttered and waved her hand towards the direction of her son's whereabouts, signaling that Keegan could go and find him himself. Afterwards she slammed the door in his face.
If she had been there, seeing how he acted, then she wouldn't be slamming the door in my face.
. . .
By the time Keegan arrived at the lake he had managed to calm down a little more. His fists weren't twitching any longer and every other thought wasn't a reminder of what he had done to his best friend yesterday.
The lake was located to the east of Tranmere, in a small forest which acted like its protective walls.
Few people went here because the younger ones in the village spent time here to escape chores or nagging parents. The small ones knew not to come here if they didn't want a beating from their older siblings, and the elders didn't care enough to go and find their children if they were here. It was a sanctuary for them during the summers, and it had been for the elders when they were young as well.
The wind was barely noticeable in here and it was so silent. Keegan loved to go here, alone though, he wasn't one for crowds.
His mother always said that he had gotten that from her father... He too had preferred his own company. She and Keegan's father, loved to spend time with their friends, so he didn't get it from either of them.
Jared was lying in the grass, surrounded by their friends John, Fergus and Ronan.
Great... Ronan is here as well, guess I can just add him to the people who knows about Cara.
Next to them, lying on her side was Kayleigh, or Kay as they called her. Keegan groaned internally from the mere sight of her. She was the most annoyingly self-obsessed girl he had ever met and she had at multiple occasions tried her luck to bed Keegan... and every other man she found lucky enough. Even Jared.
"Oi! Keegan!" John called out as soon as he entered their line of sight. "What is this about a girl I hear?" He got to his feet and started jogging towards Keegan.
"From the sound of it, I don't need to fill you in on it." Keegan mumbled to himself.
They stopped about two meters from each other and John's eyes were glowing with curiosity and excitement. He crossed his arms in anticipation as he waited for Keegan to spill his guts about Cara. He almost rocked back and forth on his heels as he waited.
"What?" Keegan asked and sighed.
"Come on, tell me!" John laughed, there was a hint of impatience playing in the back of his tone. "Don't be like that!"
"I really don't want to talk about it. I came here because I need to know how much that idiot told you." He growled and nodded at Jared, who pretended that Keegan wasn't even there.
John turned his upper body towards Jared and shrugged his shoulders as he turned back to face Keegan.
"What about it?" He chuckled. "He told us that you found a girl for yourself! Finally!" John exclaimed a little louder, took a step forth and patted Keegan proudly on the chest. "I didn't get a look at her yesterday, but Jared and Fergus swear on their mothers that she is the prettiest little thing in Tranmere!"
"Hey!" A female voice interrupted John in a sharp tone.
Keegan could hear it was Kay. He took a deep breath and prepared himself for the worst.
"I think you hurt someone's pride." He grunted at John. He rolled his eyes in response.
Kay was considered one of the fairest girls in the village, and she took great pride in it. A little to much pride if you asked anyone but her.
So of course, the mere mentioning of Cara being her superior in what Kay rested her whole existence upon would spark her fury.
"Whaaat?" John groaned loudly without turning around. He rolled his eyes.
"If Keegan likes her, she cannot be that pretty." Kay shouted condescendingly. "I mean he doesn't like anyone..."
John and Fergus laughed out loud in unison and they all turned to look at her. At first she seemed very pleased with the sudden attention, until she noticed that every single one of them has raised her brows at her statement.
"What?" She asked in a biting tone.
"Firstly, maybe he doesn't like anyone because there isn't anyone to like in this god forsaken hole of a village." John exclaimed and threw his hands out in front of him. Keegan chuckled but couldn't wait until he could go back home. "Secondly, so you are just going to pretend that you haven't thrown yourself at Ember at least four times?" John scoffed loudly. "...and might I add that you never succeeded?" He laughed darkly at her. Kay's eyes turned black and she squinted at him.
"Maybe he wants Jared and that is why they fight all the time?" She scoffed in a venomous manner. Her words were a poor excuse to change the subject.
"Keegan does not fancy men..." John snapped back in a chuckle. "Especially not someone as tainted as Jared, whom you bedded." He added and Keegan laughed quietly.
"Shut your hole, John." Kay snapped back and threw her head back, making her long blond hair fall down into the grass. She pretended to ignore them by closing her eyes and faced the sun. Jared stayed completely silent next to her.
"From what Jared told me, you spent every day in the woods looking for that little foreigner of yours when she suddenly disappeared..." John said with his voice lowered. When Keegan didn't say anything he searched his eyes for the slightest hint of an answer. "Come on, Ember!" He groaned when he didn't get the answer he wanted.
"I don't want to talk about it." He muttered and walked past John towards Jared who was still pretending he wasn't there. "Why are you even asking me these things if Jared has already told you everything?" He asked loud enough for the idiot to hear him.
"Because Jared is full of shit, everyone knows that... but since you floored him in front of the whole tavern, I thought I'd ask you myself!" John said, persisted to get his way. "No one would trudge through those woods day in and day out during that storm if his heart hadn't been... dare I say stolen?" He purred in an annoying tone.
Keegan flinched from John's words. Had Cara stolen his heart? Was that why he felt like he had to go look for her every damn day? He ignored it and walked up to Jared and kicked his foot hard enough so he couldn't ignore him anymore.
"How many did you tell?" He snarled when Jared finally looked at him.
"Go to hell, Ember." He answered.
"You are risking-"
"Just tell him, Jared." Kay interrupted. "God, I am so sick of this girl already!" She moaned. "He told these three idiots and then they told me. Unfortunately." She continued. "Can't you two just make up like you always-"
"Shut up, Kay." Jared hissed.
"At least you were smart enough not to tell any of the elders..." Keegan sighed and turned to leave them."You goddamn idiot."
"You're the idiot." Jared suddenly spoke, causing Keegan to turn around again.
"Excuse me? The only fool from here to Ahnsdale, is you." Keegan shot back. "Everyone knows that." Jared frowned with spite glistening from his eyes.
"Have fun searching for her when she disappears again, alone." He spat back and even though it made Keegan want to throw himself over him, he knew that this was just an attempt to anger him. He just had to stay calm and not give Jared what he wanted.
"I won't have to if you stay away from her." He answered snidely. The others gasped at his quick response and it all felt so immature.
"Because?" Jared challenged him and got to his feet. Keegan stepped up to him and clenched his jaws.
"What is the matter with you?" Keegan growled so only Jared could hear him. "Are you really so petty that you have to ruin everything for me and my family by using Cara? Is all of this because she doesn't like you? Because, if you'd treat her like a real person, she might not gag from fear and disgust every time you entered her sight."
Jared's eyes widened in anger when he took in every word that poured out of him.
"You have gone absolutely insane ever since she entered our lives!" Jared hissed not as quietly as Keegan had wished. "When are you going to wake up from this ridiculous infatuation? If that is what-"
"It is not some fucking infatuation, Jared!" Keegan roared and let out all of his anger.
"Then what is it? Because I am fucking sick of this mess I used to call my best friend!" Jared roared back. "You are acting like a lunatic, over what? A girl you found, a couple of weeks ago in the woods?"
"I do not have to explain myself to you." Keegan growled. "Do not tell anyone else about Cara, I mean it." He warned Jared and walked away. "And the rest of you; keep your holes shut as well!"
