"Okay, here's the thing," 14-year-old Luke Smallbone told his best friend, Courtney Helm.
"What?" she asked from his position on a tree branch above his swing.
"I...I like this girl, but I don't know how to tell her."
"Seriously? Who is it?"
"Can't tell you."
"Come on, Luke, you tell me everything."
"Not this,"Luke replied.
"Do I know her?"
"Probably. Just tell me how to tell her."
"Just go up and be like, 'hey, um,name, i really like you,'"she advised.
"Are you sure?" Luke asked.
"Yeah."
"Okay, then. He looked up at Courtney, and said, "Um, Courtney, I really like you."
This surprised her so much that Court fell off the tree branch.
"You like me?"she asked, her eyes wide.
Luke nodded. "Yeah, I love you."
Then without thinking, Luke pressed his lips on Courtney's. When they came up for air, both of them were bright red.
"I, um,"Luke stammered.
"Love you,"Courtney finished.
"Love you, too."
