Stiles's POV
Derek and I have always had our back and forth. It got worse when I started dating his sister. Y/N Hale is the only one in her family who isn't a werewolf. That's how she and I bonded. She understood what I felt like in the pack as the only human because she has felt the same way in her family.
We started dating after we got drunk and made out at a pack party. Instead of avoiding her forever, we went to get coffee and talked about it the next day. I finally told her how much I liked her.
When Derek found out we were dating, he cornered me at school and threatened to tear my throat out if I didn't leave her alone. He would've killed me if Y/N hadn't walked down the hallway and seen him corner me. Instead of killing me for dating her, he threatened to kill me if I hurt her.
"Stiles," Derek sighed as he opened the door to his loft. "I'm guessing you're here for Y/N."
"Uh yeah," I stuttered.
I waited for him to say something but he just stared at me with his Derek Glare. I looked behind him when Y/N walked down the stairs. She smirked when she saw Derek blocking the door.
"Derek," she sighed. "Let him in."
He looked over his shoulder at her and sighed. "Derek," she chuckled. "Come on."
She walked over to him and grabbed his hand, pulling him away from the door. "Hi, babe," she smiled as she greeted me. She stood on her toes and pressed a small kiss to my lips. I pulled away, fully aware of Derek watching us.
"Shall we go?" I asked, clearing my throat.
"Yep," she smiled. "Just let me grab my purse from the kitchen."
As she went to get her bag, I waited in the doorway trying to ignore Derek's glare. I cleared my throat when I glanced over to see him still staring at me.
"Stiles," he said in his deep voice.
"Derek," I stuttered.
"Where are you two going?" He asked, cutting me off.
"We're just going to dinner and a movie."
"And not back to your place," he said like a demand instead of a question.
"When will the two of you ever learn to play nice?" Y/N sighed as she walked back out.
"Probably not until you come to your senses and dump him," Derek mumbled as he walked away.
"He didn't mean that," Y/N smiled as she kissed me. I sighed as I pulled out of the kiss.
"Is he ever going to like me?"
"He likes you," she giggled. "But he liked you a lot more when you weren't dating his little sister."
I laughed as I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and led her out to my car. We spent the rest of the night at dinner, talking about everything except for Derek hating me. We were on our way back to my house when her phone suddenly started ringing. I looked over at Y/N to see her sigh before answering her phone.
"Derek, will you relax? We're just going. . ."
I glanced over when Derek cut her off. "Derek?" She stuttered. "What's going on?" She was quiet as he asked her something. "No," she said slowly.
I reached over and grabbed her hand, intertwining our fingers. He said something else to her before she pulled her phone away from her ear and put it on speaker.
"Stiles," Derek barked through Y/N's phone. "Listen to me very carefully. Take my sister anywhere except for my loft and our old house. In fact, take her to your dad. Lock yourselves in the station."
"What's going on?" I asked.
"The Berserker is back."

"Are you sure we should be here?" Y/N asked as we walked into my dad's office.
"We'll be safe here," I said, locking the door behind us. "Besides, my dad is out on parol."
"What about Derek?" She stuttered. "Shouldn't we go help him?"
"No," I said quickly. "Derek told me to keep you safe. He told me to bring you here and not leave until he gives us the all-clear. He and Scott can handle this."
"But. . ."
"Y/N," I said gently. I grabbed her arms and gently rubbed them up and down. "Derek and Scott will handle this. We're safe here."
"I can't just sit here while my brother and our best friend fight this thing. We have to do something, Stiles."
"Y/N," I said desperately. "I promised your brother I would keep you safe. And I am not letting you run into this battle. I need. . . I have to keep you safe."
"Stiles," she stuttered.
"I can't risk losing you, Y/N."
"I know," she sighed. She grabbed my hands, intertwining our fingers. "Fine. I'll stay here."
"Thank you." I let out a sigh of relief as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

A few hours later, Y/N and I were still at the Sheriff's station. I was sitting at the desk trying to distract myself while Y/N paced nervously across my dad's office.
"Y/N, Derek and Scott are going to be okay. You know them. . ."
I stopped talking when I looked up to see Y/N running out of the office. "Damn it," I mumbled under my breath as I chased after her. I got to her right before she got to the front door of the station.
"Y/N, stop." I turned her around to see tears threatening to spill down her cheeks.
"I can't do this, Stiles," she whispered the tears finally falling. "I have to do something. I have to help them. I mean. . . It's my brother."
"I know that babe," I sighed, gently rubbing her arms. "But I also know that I need you to be safe."
"Please," she cut me off. "I have to do something, Stiles. He's the only family I have left. Please."
I debated before finally giving in. "Okay," I sighed. "But we have to be careful, Y/N."
Y/N nodded as I grabbed her hand and led her to the car. We jumped in my Jeep and headed towards Derek's and Y/N's old house where the fight was being held.
As soon as we got there, I got this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I quickly got out and ran to her, grabbing her hand before she could go inside.
"Y/N," I said, my voice breaking. "Please, babe. Don't do this."
"Stiles," she sighed. "I thought. . ."
"No," I cut her off. "I can't. . . I can't lose you, Y/N. I love you."
Her eyes widened at my words. "I. . . I love you too, Stiles."
I sighed as I pulled her into my chest, roughly pressing her my lips to hers. I felt her smile into the kiss as I wrapped my arms around her waist as our lips moved in sync.
"Please," I begged her as I broke the kiss. "Let's go back to my place and wait. I can't. . . I don't want to risk losing you."
"Stiles," she started to say but was cut off when we heard a scream followed by a loud crashing sound.
"Derek?!" Y/N panicked. Before I could stop her, she ran inside. I didn't hesitate before running after her. When I ran into the burned house, I saw Y/N run into her brother's arms.
"Y/N?" He looked at her, grabbing her shoulders before looking over her shoulder at me. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be at the Sheriff's Station."
"I know, but I had to. . . I couldn't. . ." Y/N stuttered as she scanned her brother for injuries.
"Y/N? Stiles? What are you guys doing here?" Scott said as he jogged over to me.
"Y/N, you don't get it!" Derek said angrily. "I don't want you here."
"I know, but. . ." She tried to defend herself.
"No!" Derek yelled, cutting her off. "You can't be here, Y/N."
"Why?" She stuttered.
"Because," Derek sighed, "you're just a human, Y/N. You can get hurt. Not just hurt. Killed. The thing we're fighting has the strength and the ability to kill you, Y/N. So, please. Get as far away from here as you can before he. . ."
We jumped when something got thrown at the wall by us. I instinctively grabbed Y/N, covering her with my body as Derek and Scott ran off to fight the Berserker. I kept Y/N close to my chest as I stood us up, leading us to the side. Y/N screamed as we watched the Berserker throw Derek across the room effortlessly. Before I could stop her, Y/N ran over to her brother.
I jumped as the Berserker threw Scott around the room. I glanced over at Y/N before jogging to Scott's side. As I helped my best friend sit up, I looked over to see Derek leading Y/N across the house. I ran over to them and as soon as I got there, Derek and Scott went back to fighting the Berserker.
I was too focused on making sure Y/N was okay to notice the Berserker had gotten past Derek and Scott.
"Stiles!" Y/N screamed right as something appeared behind me. Before I could do anything, I felt it grab me and through me to the side. Scott and Derek ran up to me, helping me back to my feet. The second I stood up, I heard a sound I never wanted to hear.
Y/N screamed right as I looked over. I watched, frozen, as the Berserker grabbed Y/N, tossing her against the wall.
"No!" I yelled as I ran over to her. Derek got there first, instantly rolling her over.
"Y/N?" Derek said her name, his voice cracking. "Kid?"
I watched helplessly as the brother of the girl I loved tried to wake her up. I stood behind Derek, looking over his shoulder at Y/N. "He broke her back," Derek said under his breath.
I glanced over at Scott to see his eyes widen. "What?" I whispered as Derek still tried to wake Y/N up.
"I can't hear her heartbeat anymore."
The room froze, my anxiety building as I looked over at Y/N. "No," I said under my breath. I kept repeating that word over and over as Derek held Y/N close to his chest, rocking her.
Derek must have felt it too because he slowly put her down. I reached forward and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Derek, you know what you have to do," I said under my breath.
"I can't," he shook his head. "Y/N. . . She is the only Hale who was born normal. I want her to stay that way."
"But Derek," Scott sighed as he knelt across from us, on the other side of Y/N. "If you don't. . ."
"She'll die," he finished for him. Derek looked over his shoulder at me before sighing.
He turned back towards his sister and hesitated. "I'm sorry," he whispered to her as he grabbed her arm and gave her the bite. He draped her arm over her stomach, his hands shaking.
"Come on, kid," he whispered. "Don't do this to me, Y/N. Please. Wake up."
We watched helplessly as we waited for any sign that she was going to be okay. "Her color is coming back," Scott whispered. I knelt down next to Derek, getting closer to Y/N.
"Come on, baby," I whispered, pleading for her to wake up. I sucked in a breath as her eyes fluttered open.
"Y/N?" Derek said, making her look over at him.
"Derek? What happened?" She asked as she slowly sat up.
He shook his head as he pulled her into his chest. "It doesn't matter now. What matters is that you're okay. And that I have you back."
"Derek?"
He sighed as he pulled out of the hug, reaching up and tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "The Berserker attacked you. He threw you across the room. I couldn't even. . . You weren't breathing, Y/N. And you're heart rate wasn't. . . The only way I could save you was by. . ."
"By giving me the bite," Y/N said slowly.
"I'm sorry, kid," Derek sighed. "I had no choice."
"I understand," she stuttered. "You saved my life. Thank you."
He smiled as he leaned over and pressed a kiss to her forehead. When he pulled away, she looked over at Scott and me with her eyes watering. I jumped forward, instantly wrapping my arms around her.
"It's going to be okay, baby," I soothed her, ignoring the annoyance radiating off Derek. I leaned back and cupped her face in my hands.
"You're going to be okay. The three of us are going to help you through this. Your brother's been a werewolf his entire life, Scott is also learning, and me? Well, I'm the idiot human who gets too involved in supernatural stuff."
I felt my anxiety go down when she let out a small chuckle. I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers. I felt her smile as our lips moved in sync. I got lost in the kiss, only being pulled out of it when Derek sighed.
"I thought we agreed you wouldn't do this in front of me."
We pulled away, glancing at him guiltily. Y/N looked at me before biting her lip and looking back at Derek.
"Sorry, big brother."
