*Sofia's P.O.V.*
I stood there in shock, was he being serious? Or was he joking? He liked me too? Really?
"Niall..." I started talking as soon as he finished his amazing speech, but no words came out of my mouth. I was speechless, still in shock from what he'd just told me. I just stood there my hands in his, smiling at him while staring at his gorgeous blue eyes, trying to regain my composure and reply. "I really really like you too, like a lot. Ever since we first started talking, I knew that you were different from all of the guys I've ever talked to, you always listened to me, payed attention to whatever I was saying, however big or small it was, you're so caring, and when you say you'll do something, you actually do it. From that first day we started messaging each other and then you told me that you'd text me tomorrow and you actually did, I knew that I could always count on you and that you'd always be there for me. And to be honest, I've been dying to tell you that I like you as well, I just didn't know if you felt the same way about me." I finally blurted out, still a bit nervous and my hands a bit shaky.
"Really? Oh thank god!" Niall sighed in relief and cracked a smile. "So, would you like to be my girlfriend?" He cheekily asks as he steps even closer to me. His hands are now trained on my hips, our faces inches apart and his breath brushes my lips.
"I'd love nothing more." I responded before he finally closed the gap between our faces and hungrily crashed his lips into mine. His kiss sent a bolt of electricity all through my body, and I just couldn't stop thinking about how I was finally kissing the man I've been dreaming about kissing for so long, my Nialler. And as if on cue, the fireworks started, it actually felt like we were in a movie scene, it was all so surreal. Niall and I were finally kissing, and not only kissing, we were now officially boyfriend and girlfriend. We broke apart from our kiss but our foreheads still touching.
"You don't know how happy you just made me." Niall smiled as he looked into my eyes.
"You don't know how happy you've just made ME." I responded back before crashing my lips back into his. The kiss was slow at first and then gradually started to get more intense. His mouth increased the rhythm of the kiss with every second that passed. Kissing here, on the rooftop with a fireworks show as our backdrop surrounded by candles and string lights, I felt like the whole world around us had vanished and no one else existed but us. I wanted to take a mental picture of this moment, it was just perfect, more than I've could have ever imagined.
We broke apart from our kiss and I just couldn't wipe the smile off my face. We both turned to look at the fireworks and then Niall hugged me from behind, resting his face on my shoulder.
"I can't believe that I now get to call you my girlfriend." He whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. And then he places a soft kiss on my cheek. Oh my god, he was perfect. I couldn't believe that he was my boyfriend, this really seemed like something out of a movie, not like something that could happen to a normal person.
"Me neither. Never in a million years would I have imagined that you actually liked me back." I responded as I wrapped my arms around his, making his hug tighter.
"Why wouldn't I like you? You're gorgeous and the nicest person I have ever met. Anyone would be lucky to have you in their life. So I guess I'm pretty damn lucky to have met you, you've made my life so much better Soph."
"Oh stop it, you're making me blush." I responded embarrassed as I tried to hide my now red cheeks from him. "If anyone is lucky here, it's me. You're the most down to earth person I've ever met, not forgetting just how handsome and nice you are."
"Oh stop it, now you're making me blush." He laughed. "We'll then I guess we're both pretty lucky to have found each other."
"Yes we are." I responded before turning around and kissing him again, I just couldn't help it, he's so hot, and he's finally mine.
After the fireworks ended, we headed back to the restaurant and out the back door to the car, our hands intwined. When we reached the car, Niall, being the gentleman that he is, opened the car door for me, before sprinting to the other side to get in the drivers seat.
"Thank you for the most amazing day ever Niall." I spoke as soon as he got in.
"No problem babe, I had an amazing time as well." He smiled at me. But wait, had he just called me babe? I could die right here, this day was absolutely perfect, I'd never forget it, June 15th, 2020. The day Niall asked me to finally be his girlfriend. Wow, never in a million years had I ever imagined that this would ever happen to me.
The whole car ride back home we kept stealing kisses from each other, holding hands and just being all coupley. It still felt so surreal to me. As we got closer to Nialls house I started thinking about what would happen next, would he want us to sleep in the same bed? Did he want us to have sex? Because I totally wasn't ready for that. Would the dynamics change now that we were together as a couple? I started panicking inside but tried to remain calm on the outside so that Niall wouldn't notice. After an excruciating 5 minutes of me overthinking every possible scenario that could go down we finally arrived. As soon as we went through the front door I said
"I'm going to go take a shower." Before sprinting upstairs into my room. Great Sofia, just great. Now he'll think that you're avoiding him, or worse, regretting the decision of accepting to be his girlfriend. Fuck me. I got out of the shower and put on my pj's before heading back outside to find Niall. He had already changed into his pj's as well and was just watching tv in the upstairs family room.
"Hey." I nervously called out to him.
"Hey, everything okay?" He asked me nervously.
"Yeah, sorry about that." I responded as I sat next to him on the couch. "I just got really nervous all of the sudden."
"It's okay Soph, don't worry." He smiled as he took my hand in his. "I was going to watch some tv, but I'm actually really tired. I think I'm gonna head to sleep now."
"Yeah, I'm really tired as well." I told him, and he could sense the nervousness in my voice still.
"Okay, what's wrong babe? You know you can tell me anything, it's still us."
"I know, I know. Well...okay...I'll tell you. I'm just...not the kind of person that has sex on the first date. There I said it." I blurted out the last part as fast as humanly possible. Niall started chuckling.
"I know you aren't Soph, don't worry. I wasn't going to ask you to have sex with me tonight. Although, if you feel like it..." I smacked his arm. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding."
"Okay, I just wanted to let you know that. I really really like you, and we might be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I'm just not ready yet."
"It's totally fine, don't worry. C'mon, let's go to sleep. You can sleep in my room with me if you'd like. No pressure. And we wouldn't do anything besides sleeping, and maybe cuddling." He told me as he helped me get up from the couch, that's how lazy I was.
"You promise?" I asked. I wasn't ready to have sex with him yet, but sleeping in his arms did sound pretty tempting and besides, there was nothing wrong with it.
"I swear." He placed his hand on his chest.
"Fine, let's go to sleep then." I spoke as I took his hand and led him to his bedroom.
"I love it when you take the lead." He spoke when we finally got there, I turned to look at him and he raised his eyebrows at me.
"Niall..." I started.
"I'm joking Soph, relax." He told me as he embraced me before kissing me. And before I knew it, we were on the bed, kissing each other. We made out for about 15 minutes straight, before I stopped him, not wanting things to go too far.
"I think it's time to go to sleep."
"Fine." He pouted.
"Well, come here, one last kiss." I told him as I kissed him softly. "Good night baby."
"Night babe." He kissed my cheek one last time, before I turned around and he put his arms around me. I loved being the little spoon.
I was just about to fall asleep before I remembered that I didn't call my mom. Fuck. What if she saw pictures of me and Niall together? Just the two of us and no other girls, so it would be obvious that I wasn't with my friends. She was going to be so pissed. Shit. I debated for a minute with myself wether I should just call her right now or in the morning, but then Niall's soft little snore solved that debate for me, I'd call her in the morning. I wasn't about to wake him up just to go talk to my mom. Come what may, I just had the most perfect day of my life and I wasn't going to risk it turning south if I called her and she got mad at me.
