Glass shoots toward me from every direction. I scream in fright and cover my head with my hands as quickly as I possibly can.
The ground beneath me shakes violently, causing the couch I was sitting on to slide backward on the wooden floor, into the wall behind me.
When the couch hits the wall I'm thrown forward onto the ground. I stick my hands out to catch my fall and as soon as they hit the floor, sharp pain shoots up through my palms.
