(Y/N)'s POV
“Alright, see you in a few hours, petal.” Niall said before ending our phone call
I'm currently at a local coffee shop here in L.A, finishing up some paperworks. I'm also streaming Niall's new album and I'm never been so proud to my best friend.
Niall is also currently in L.A doing some loads of work, as usual, doing all the promotion and all that stuff. He called me today so we can hang out and have a best friend pasta and wine night to celebrate his success on his second album.
Niall and I have been best friends since we were in diapers, my mom and Maura were highschool besties and we've always come with our moms to go shopping and whatever. Niall and I also have the same birthday which is crazy it's like they planned it all out.
We always have our each others back ever since, except when we were 16. Niall auditioned for the X-factor and I stayed in Mullingar and continued studying in highschool. Then when we turned 18, I studied in L.A and he became part of one of the famous boyband in history which is insane. Now we are 26, we are still the same (Y/N) and Niall just have an abnormal job.
Niall said to come over to his house by 5 or 6 in the evening. I finished my paperworks around 4-ish, then I went straight to the grocery store to buy him an ice cream. It is a tradition that we always do when someone achieve there goal.
I got him a chocolate ice cream, basic but it's his all-time favorite flavor.
I arrived at his house almost 6pm, then the guard of his house stopped me before entering Niall's property.
“Hey, Mario! Don't you remember me?” I greeted him after putting my window down
“Oh I'm sorry, didn't recognize you. Did you get a new car, Ms. (Y/N)?” He asked
“Yeah, do you like it?” I asked
“She is a beauty.”
“Thank you. So is your homeboy already here?” I asked referring to Niall
“Yes, he told me you'll come.” He said then he pressed the button to open the gate
“I also got you something.” I said handing him food from In-and-Out
“Thank you, Ms. (Y/N)! Have a lovely evening.” He said
“Likewise.” I said then drove to Niall's driveway
Then there he was standing outside his door
“There's my girl.” He said as he opened the door for me
“Hi!” I said and hugged him very tight, it's been weeks since I last saw him “You're getting thinner.” I added after pulling away from the hug
“You mean shredded?” He asked while taking out all of the groceries that I bought
“Whatever.” I chuckled playfully rolling my eyes at him
“I thought you were getting the black one?” He asked
“I saw this white one last minute, why? Is the black one better?”
“No, this car is nice. I'm just not really into white cars, but it suits you so not bad.” He said “Proud of you, you finally got your dream car.” He added raising his hand for a high-five
“Thanks, pimp!” It's a nickname that I gave him when we were kids until now I still use it
When we entered to his house, I removed my shoes and slipped on to my slides that I have in Niall's locker. Then we head straight to the kitchen to prepare our dinner for our mini celebration.
“I got you something.” I said as I pull out his pint of ice cream “Congratulations! For having a successful album.”
“I also got you something.” He said as he opened his freezer getting my favorite ice cream out “For having a new car.”
“Pimp, you didn't have to!”
“Thank you for coming, means so much to me.” He said and gave me a kiss on the forehead
“I got you always.” I said and hugged him while he was making pasta
When we were done eating, both of us head straight to the living room to have a talking session while drinking wine and eating our ice cream.
“A toast for our achievements and more to come.” He said raising his wine glass and I raised mine to cheers it with him
“For our achievements and more to come.” Then I grabbed my pint of ice cream and had a bite
“What do you think of the new album?” He asked while eating his ice cream
“It's pretty good, actually. My favorite is San Francisco and Still and Black and White and Heartbreak Weather, actually I love the whole album.” I said making him chuckle “So who's it's about this time?”
“I can't believe you just ask me that.” He said “Like you don't know.”
“I know, I know. I'm just teasing you.” I said “Damn! I still can't believe you dated her.”
“That's a little bit mean. Why? I thought you liked her.” He asked
“Yeah for a couple of days then after I found out she's cheating on you, she's cancelled.” I said making him smile and shake his head
“Well actually, I have a new one right now.” He casually said while eating his ice cream
“What do you mean 'you have a new one'?” I asked “You're dating someone?”
“I haven't talked to her about it, I mean we're talking but I haven't confess anything yet. I don't know, just scared.” He said and I laughed
“Poor girl, who is she? You're giving me another headache. I'm stalking her first thing in the morning.” I said I was dead serious
I don't want my best friend's heart to be played again.
“Geez, calm down! Besides, I think you'll love this new girl.” He said and I furowed my brows at him
“Is she in the same industry?” I asked then he shook his head no “So you want a non-showbiz girlfriend now?”
“So, so.” He said “She understands me, she is very much patient with me and she is always there for me.”
“Where did you guys meet? And when? And how?” I bombarded him with a lot of questions
“She lives in Mullingar.” He said making me so confused
“Do I know her?” I asked
“100%.” He answered “She's really pretty and she doesn't even know how hard I'm falling in love with her. Her personality, her humor, I love everything about her.”
“Alright, pimp. Since when did you start falling in love with your best friend?” I jokingly said
Then he went quiet, looking at me like he just saw a ghost
“What? I'm just kidding! You're too serious so who is she?” I asked then he didn't answer “Hey! You can't be serious that you're falling in love with me.”
Then he mumbled something but I didn't hear it properly “What did you just say?”
“Are you mad?” He asked and I was shocked
He is not joking? Wait what?!
“Niall, you can't be serious. No more fooling around! Who is she?” I asked I was getting a little annoyed with his jokes
“I'm not fooling around, (Y/N)! I am really in love with you.” He said “God, I knew this would happen.”
“What do you mean?” I asked I am really confused right now
“This! After this, you'll leave me, you'll stop talking to me, all of our memories will remain memories and then..” He stood up from the couch and ran his fingers through his hair then stopped and took a deep breath “Our friendship will end.”
“How long have you known?” I asked as I look down staring at the carpet while fidgeting with my fingers
“For a couple of months now.” He said and I covered my face with my hands
Niall's POV
I don't know how long we've been quiet but it's killing me. I should have know all of the consequences before I admitted my feelings to her.
See Horan! Everything is over now. You'll never see her again.
“(Y/N), can you please say something. Tell me what's running on your mind right now and be honest with me.” I said looking at her while she was palming her face
“I don't know what to say.” She whispered “Thank you God for answering my prayers?” She innocently asked making me chuckle
“What?” I said trying to control my laughter “I'm sorry, I don't know why I'm laughing right now.”
“Why now and why me?” She asked looking up at me
“Because you're different. You're the only girl who really saw the real me.” I said as I look directly to her eyes “Why now? I'm sorry if it took me 10 years to realize that I'm already with the girl that I wanted to be with.” I said in full honesty “I hope I'm not too late.”
“I mean I've been praying to God since we were 16 that you'll fall in love with me and now after 10 years you're actually confessing all of your feelings to me.” She said “Who am I to turn down this opportunity?” She added making me laugh
“You're really crazy, (Y/N) (Y/L/N).”
“Yeah, crazy in love with you.” She stood up and jumped into my arms
I catched her and hugged her the tightest hug that I could give.
“So are we like dating now?” She asked and I smiled at her
“You can say that.” I chuckled making her blush
“I can't believe it, I'm dating my best friend.” I said and gave her a kiss on the forehead
“I can't believe it, I'm dating my pimp.” She said making me laugh then she kissed me on the lips
When we pulled away from the kiss I can feel my cheeks burning
“I'm your pimp?”
“Yeah, one and only.”
