Faith sniffed and sobbed softly on the way home. Haylee offered to drive, while Liam sat with Faith in the backseat, her body buried into his chest. He tried to convince her to forget what happened, but she kept telling him that she couldn’t. When they reached home, Haylee pulled up and as soon as she did, Faith stormed out of the car and inside the house.

“Faith!” Liam called out, but she was too fast. “Hayles, I’ll be right back.” He ran behind her.

As Margaret held the door open and stared at Faith walking inside, Liam reached the door too.

“What happened to her? Is everything okay?” She asked, concerned.

Liam didn’t answer her and ran after Faith. “What is with these kids?” Margaret scoffed. Haylee parked the car and came in holding up her floor length gown.

“Young lady, are you gonna tell me or not?” Margaret stopped her daughter.

“Whoa! Chill mommy. What happened?”

“Exactly. What happened?” She shook her head in confusion.

“Oh that.” Haylee bobbed her head to the side. “Umm… I think I should go in.” She ran inside.

“How strange. These kids just won’t tell me anything.” As Margaret shut the door, Liam and Haylee both came to her.

“Where did Faith go?” Liam was panting, his hands on his hips. Haylee nodded.

“Do you care to tell me what happened?” Margaret asked, eyebrows arched.

“Scarlett bitch Weiner happened.” Haylee rolled her eyes.

“What?” Margaret’s expression tightened. “Where did that bitch come from?”

“Mom!” Haylee and Liam were both taken aback at their mother’s choice of words.

“What? She really deserves to be called that after what she did to my baby.” She pulled Liam’s cheeks.

“Ma... Now I’m kinda glad Faith’s not here.” Liam removed her mother’s hand from his face. “Look for her.”

They bolted in different directions and looked through the huge house. “I wish our house wasn’t so freaking big.” Haylee slumped down on the sofa. “I’m tired already.”

Liam came and flicked a finger at her head. “Look. For. Her.” He said through clenched teeth.

“Stop hitting me!” Haylee swatted at his arm and resumed looking. It was crazy. Faith just wasn’t there.

“What, is this girl like a spirit or something?” Liam threw his head back and sighed. “Where is she?” He looked around, and his eyes stopped wandering when they fell on something at the base of the attic’s staircase. “Hey, I got this. I think I found her.”

He walked over to the staircase. The attic was unused, and it always remained shut. But Liam saw two beautiful shoes at the base of the staircase. He picked them up and ascended upstairs to the small room. As he reached the top, a cool breeze hit his face. The window was open. He climbed in through the little aperture and crossed over to the other side. It was a small extension of the rooftop that they never visited. It was full of dry leaves, and they rustled against the wind. He looked around, and there she was. Sitting at the edge, looking up at the sky, her body curled up into a ball as she hugged her knees close to her chest. Liam heaved a sigh of relief as his eyes found what was most precious to him. He took small, slow steps towards Faith.

“Hey there, Cinderella.” He bent down and put the shoes on her feet, as she watched him calmly. He kissed her on the forehead and sat down beside her, taking her into his hold.

“She’s really a bitch.” Faith said in a very low tone.

“I told you so.” Liam stroked her hair. “Don’t waste your time thinking about her.”

“I feel so humiliated. Nobody has ever talked to me that way before. Ever.”

“I understand. But her saying some stupid things doesn’t make them true!” He pulled her closer.

“But she called me a gold digger and a slut. How can I just let it go?” She pulled away from him and entered explanatory mode, as she used her hands animatedly. “You know, never in my entire life has anybody disliked me. Forget calling me names like that. It just feels so bad!”

“Of course.” Liam nodded.

“I’m not poor okay! My parents have money, albeit not as much as you, but I have enough morals to not be a gold digger.” She snorted. “And then she called you her boyfriend! Does that even make sense?” Her voice went low again. “I don’t want to see her again. Ever.”

“As you wish, princess. I’ll do all I can.”

“You’re already doing a lot.” Faith smiled weakly. “I wish I didn’t have to return home. Three more days.” Her face fell.

Liam hugged her in a manner that showed everything would be alright. But in reality, even he had no idea what to do. Then Faith spoke again. “Come home with me.”

Liam knew it wasn’t possible. He had suspended work for two weeks and taking a single day off anymore would mean trouble. It wasn’t possible. But he couldn’t tell that to Faith when she was already sad and crying. “We’ll figure something out baby.”

“I don’t want to be away from you.” Faith said, hugging him tighter.

“You don’t have to.”

“Yes I do. I have to go back home.” She broke away from his embrace and sighed sadly. “Liam what are we gonna do?” She turned around and now her back faced him as she rested her chin upon her elevated knees.

“We’ll video chat every day.” Liam said, at the lack of a better solution. “I’ll call you every day. Every single day.”

“Will you text me back?” She asked slowly.

“I promise I will. I will come soon to visit. Please just don’t get upset.”

Faith bit her lips as tears fell down her cheeks. “I can’t believe everything is such a mess. I’m so in love with you that I cannot imagine a single moment away from you. And the fact that I’ll be leaving in a few days eats me up from inside. And…” Her voice broke off. “That girl… what she did today. It just made things so much worse.” She was crying frantically now.

Liam immediately leaned forward and hugged her from behind. “Shh… don’t cry.” He kissed her on the neck as his hands grazed her stomach. She unfolded her knees and stretched them out in front of her, leaning back on Liam. He wiped her tears and this time, planted a kiss on her left cheek. “Look… my Bambi is pretty even when she cries.”

“Really?” Faith looked up at the sky and threw her head back further into his chest. “You think so?”

“Hmm. Always pretty.” His arms tightened around her. It was a feeling as warm as none other. She basked in all the affection he was showering on her.

“Liam?” Faith spoke in a loving tone, still in a low voice.

“Yeah?” He whispered into her cheeks.

“I’m so glad I met you.” She said, feeling every word true to her heart.

“Were you glad when you actually met me?” he teased, still maintaining the low and quiet mood of their conversation.

“No…” She couldn’t help but smile. “But then I realized what a sweetheart you are.” She put her hand on his face and pushed it closer to hers. Their faces were now touching, cheek to cheek.

“I have an idea.” He whispered. “Every Valentine’s day, we’ll go to Paris. No matter how busy we are. We’ll go on a date, shop for you, get you ice creams, and whatever else you like.”

“Sounds good. Every year?”

“Without fail.” He kissed her again, this time close to her ears, and she shivered. “And the rest of the year, I’ll definitely figure something out. Don’t worry at all.”

“I trust you when you say that.” She turned her face towards him. Their silence increased the intimacy they shared. They stared into each other’s eye without a single word. Liam gazed at Faith’s pretty face, as the moonlight reflected off of it. The heat in his body reached new levels altogether, and he leaned in and took her lips between his own. Faith reciprocated with gentleness and love, and before they knew it, the kiss became more passionate than any kiss they had shared. Faith was surprised at the way her tongue moved with his, and it was a matter of seconds before his lips drifted to other parts of her body. A chill ran down her body as he sucked on the skin of her neck. She moaned, but it was intense pleasure. Liam was sure to be gentle all this while, as he tugged on the back of her dress. Within a single pull, he opened it up and slid it down her body. Another swift move and her bra was undone. Faith opened his suit and pulled out his tie in a fit of excitement. She undid his buttons and then his shirt was gone. The rest of the clothes came off soon. She softly said his name and another tear escaped her eye.

“I love you so much.” She took in his scent and kissed his chest. “And this is so romantic.” She let out a chuckle.

“On the terrace. I never thought I would do this. Look at the things you make me do.” He said lovingly in a deep voice, which made her hormones rush faster through her veins.

“It’s so cold.” She whispered, as they were on the verge of doing it for the second time in two days. He pulled back his suit and laid it over her bare back, as he entered her. The pain was lesser this time, and she felt like she melted into him. His pale skin glistened due to all the sweating, and he looked heavenly.

Liam moved the loose strands of hair away from her face, and tried to go as easy on her as he could. He touched her on every curve and contour of her body, making her tremble. He couldn't help but stare at how beautiful she was.

She looked into his baby blue eyes, as the moonlight made them shine brighter.

Liam smiled and kissed her again. Every move he made took away all her sadness. She hugged him and silently prayed to God that He never, ever take Liam away from her.
