SOLAR FLARE!?

THEY ARRIVED AT THE SPACE PORT, lined up like those groups in sci-fi movies. Although it was cool to be travelling to space, she did wanna avoid Johnny at all costs.
"That's not a problem" Lucy thought, he did avoid her for so long, she was sure that he could do that again.
They walked in the ship, a bit nervous.
"ETA until cosmic event; nine hours." Victor said, leading the group along the hallway.
She was beside Johnny and Ben, trying to avoid eye contact and be quiet.
"If you're good, maybe next time Daddy'll let you drive." Johnny smirked.
"You keep talking and there won't be a next time." Ben retorted.
They finally reached the end of the hall in a large circular observation room.
"We can monitor the cloud's approach and observe the tests from here." Sue said as she and Johnny walked to their places.
"Is it safe?" Lucy looked down.
"The shields on the station should protect us." Reed explained. Lucy shrugged going to her place to finish the filing work and sort out some information.
"Should?" Ben smirked.
"What's the matter, Ben? Getting paranoid at your old age?" Victor taunted walking towards them.
"Let's start loading those samples. Get your suit ready, Ben." Reed said, trying to switch the conversation up a bit.
Lucy stayed quiet despite her small grudge for Victor.
Ben was walking away before Victor tried trying more of Ben's patience.
"So I see you're still doing all the heavy lifting." Victor leaned against the railings. "Maybe your should have stayed in the lab. Field work never suited you." Victor muttered loudly.
"He does the talking, she does the filing, and I do the walking. Got it?" Ben walked up to Victor.
"So take a walk, Ben." Victor said with a low voice. "Actually, if you'll all excuse me, I need to borrow Susan for a moment." Victor stood up from the railings. Sue looked at Victor confused but obliged anyway.
If that was his jab at Reed, it wasn't working.
"Sure." Reed muttered as the three walk away.
"Please tell me your guy's not trying to rekindle things with my sister again." Johnny said adjusting Ben's space suit.
As Lucy walked in, Johnny's eyes landed on her once again as Ben pointed.
"Ask her." Ben smirked.
Lucy gave him a 'what the fuck' look before fully entering the room.
"Of course not. It's strictly business." Ben continued to stop the awkwardness.
"Yes, well, his eyes say differently, don't they?" Johnny fixed the last accents of his suit.
"Two hearts got busted last time. Maybe she's not over it, either." Ben said sternly.
"Wow, Dr. Phil, that's deep. Let's think about that." Johnny picked up the large case of flowers.
"You got Victor, more money than God, stud of the year. And you got Reed, world's dumbest smart guy, worth less than a postage stamp. That's big toss up." Johnny said as they walked to the portal of the ship.
"Don't worry your tiny mind." Ben turned to Johnny. "Now wander off, boy."
Johnny walked to his station as Lucy walked to hers.
Securing airlock chamber.
Johnny saluted and gave Ben a thumbs jokingly as Lucy smiled and waved.
They went back to their stations, quiet for a few moments.
"So, why'd you play things cool, last time I recall, you had feelings for me." Johnny smirked. Lucy turned around and glared at him.
"Feelings? I was merely trying not to ruin Reed's day. I mean, Victor is already here. Why make it worse?" Lucy smirked turning to Johnny.
"I see you're still as phoenix-firey just like before, I like em' that way . . ." Johnny smirked.
"Keep your cool, the clouds haven't hit just yet." Lucy rolled her eyes.
"First, you use a girl, ignore her for years and try resurfacing their feelings cause you're bored. How is that seduction method working for you?" Lucy raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know yet but it seems to be working." Johnny said, pulling her closer.
"It's not, trust me. Go do something useful instead of trying to get another kiss out of me." Lucy scowled.
Johnny wrapped an arm around her waist as the world started moving in slow motion, Lucy didn't know what to do.
"Ben, you need to get out of there, now!" Reed ran into the room.
"What's wrong?" Johnny said seriously.
"I ain't done arranging your flowers yet, egghead." Ben chuckled.
"Ben, turn around!" Reed yelled.
"A cosmic storm and a solar flare, I'm not gonna make it!" Ben panicked.
"Ben, jump! It's the only way!" Johnny exclaimed.
"Did you put the boosters?" Reed turned to them.
"No." Johnny's eyes widened.
"Lucy you have to get out there." Reed panicked.
Lucy grabbed one of the helmets and pressed a button. The suits were nano-tech but it wasn't unlocked to it's full capacity. Nonetheless, Lucy put on the boosters and shot herself outside.
She grabbed Ben and accidentally sent him flying towards the portal of the ship. Lucy tried getting back, but just then, her boosters broke off as the storm and flare consumed her body.
Lucy arched her body back as both the flare and the storm were sucking itself in her body, absorbing her. As a burning sensation hit her. Her arms spread to her sides almost like wings.
"AHHHH!!!!!!" Lucy screamed as the burning sensation increased and it felt as if she landed on the sun.
"Lucy!!!" Reed yelled from the ship.
The cosmic storm engulfed the ship, they all fell into darkness.
The flare absorbing itself into Lucy, exploded. The explosion made a colossal Phoenix shape in space.
Lucy was left floating in space, hair glowing as glowing magma looking cracks appeared at side of her face. With her hair glowing a firey red.
