I can't believe that today is the day I finally get to meet Niall in person. We've continued talking every single day and now that he's on break we've been talking and face timing even more. I travelled to LA 3 days ago to meet up with my trader friends and go to the event. It was so nice meeting up with people who have the same job as me and to learn from them. Plus I got to spend time with my friends who live in the States, which was nice. Today we're checking out of our hotel room and the rest of the girls are heading back home, but not me, I'm heading to Niall's house and I couldn't be more excited.
I woke up really early because I was just so excited and nervous, so I couldn't sleep. I quickly took a shower before Hannah, who was my roommate for the trip, woke up. Then I started doing my makeup. I settled for natural makeup because I didn't want Niall to think that I was trying to hard or something. So no eyeshadow or eyeliner for today, to achieve that 'natural effortless look'. I had bought a specific outfit for today and I couldn't be more content with my selection. It looked girly and cute but without being over the top, it was a pretty yet casual outfit. I put on my black cropped tank top and paired it with the midi black and white skirt I had bought the week before. I added some dainty necklaces, gold earrings and my signature rings. I finished it off with my white sneakers and I was going to use my black LV tote bag.
Niall had told me to meet him at his place at 12 pm, which was perfect because check out was at 11 and the girls needed to be at the airport by 12 as well. I had told them that I would be staying with a friend here in LA for a couple of days, obviously omitting his name, or the fact that he was a guy for all that maters. I just didn't want them to be teasing me or anything. I had offered to go pick him up from the airport, but he politely declined, stating that he always got mobbed at the airport and he didn't want me to go through that. And honestly I'm glad he declined, because I hadn't thought this through, I had offered him a ride home and I didn't even have a car, how stupid am I?
Hannah woke up soon after I was done getting ready.
"Uuuh, who are you all dressed up for?" She teased.
"This outfit?" I said pointing to my clothes. "I just saw that it was going to be really hot today and decided to wear a skirt."
"Sure, okay." Hannah replied, not totally satisfied with my answer. But who cares? I had more important things on my mind, like the fact that I was going to meet Niall in less than two hours.
As soon as she finished getting ready we both headed to have breakfast and meet with Katie and Maddie. Then we went back to our rooms to finish packing and check out. We said our goodbyes at the hotel, the three of them were headed to the airport together, but I was taking a different cab to take me to Niall's place.
"It was great seeing you guys!" I told them as we were waiting for their cab.
"I know, I'd missed you all so much." Katie said.
"We have to talk more often." Maddie stated.
"Yes!" Han exclaimed. "Let's agree to have weekly Zoom sessions, so that we can catch up!"
"That sounds perfect!" Maddie replied enthusiastically.
"So everyone agrees? We can decide on a fixed day and hour each week." Hannah continued.
"Yes." The three of us spoke in unison.
"It's settled then!"
We saw their cab pull up, we hugged each other and said our final goodbyes. And before I knew it, I watched their cab leave. A few minutes later my cab pulled up and I was on my way to see Niall. Ten minutes into the ride I got a text from him.
N: Just got home. Can't wait to see you!
S: Can't wait to see you either. I'll be there in 15 according to waze.
*Niall's P.O.V.*
Today is the day when I finally get to meet Soph. I don't know why but she intrigued me since the first time I talked to her on my live session. She was different from the rest of the girls I usually talk to. Yes, she was a fan of mine, but she could also be my friend and talk to me like she would with any other friend. She appreciates my music but she also appreciates me as a person. Growing up in this industry I've encountered a lot of people who only want to befriend me because of my fame, but not Soph. She hasn't asked me for a single thing, she isn't bragging to everyone that she's talking to me. She told me that she hasn't even told her best friend nor her family! Any other girl would jump on the opportunity to tell the world that she was friends with Niall Horan, but not her. I knew she was different from that 'first' time I talked to her.
I was supposed to stay in London for the duration of my break, but when she called to tell me that she'd be in LA during my break, I decided to change my plane ticket and get back here earlier. I needed to see her in person. I had become dependent of her, she was always there for me whenever I was feeling down, anxious or nervous. I knew I could rely on her for anything. Every time something good happened in my life, she was the first person I wanted to tell, and when something bad happened, she was the first person that popped to my mind and the person in which I sought comfort. I think I'm falling for her, I know that I don't even know her in person, but I still feel like I know her more than I know anybody else and she knows me more than anybody else as well.
I'm so nervous to finally see her in person, I was so anxious during the whole flight, I barely even got a chance to sleep. As soon as the plane landed, there was a car ready to take me home. This time I didn't even care about the paparazzis that were waiting for me at LAX, that's how excited I was. I wanted to get here as quickly as possible so that I could spend as much time as I could with her. As soon as I opened the front door to my house I texted her to let her know that I was already here.
N: Just got home. Can't wait to see you!
S: Can't wait to see you either. I'll be there in 15 according to waze.
She was going to be here in less than 15 minutes! I went to take a quick shower and freshen myself up, after all, I'd been on an 11 hour flight. I quickly scanned my living room and kitchen to make sure that everything was in its place. Then I went to the guest bedroom, I made sure she had clean towels and linen, as well as shampoo, soap and all of that stuff. I wanted this trip to be perfect for her. Maybe I'd make her fall in love with me, just like I was already falling for her. I went back to my living room and sat on the couch. As if on cue, my doorbell rang. This is it, the moment I've been waiting for for so many months, she's finally here. I opened the door and she jumped to embrace me the second I did it.
"Nialler!" She exclaimed as she wrapped herself around me.
"Soph, I'm so glad you're here." I spoke as I held her as close to me as I possibly could. I was trying to take a mental picture of this moment, I want to remember it forever.
*Sofias's P.O.V.*
The taxi driver left me at the entrance of Niall's house. This was the moment I'd been waiting for for so long. I was finally going to see my best friend face to face! I was beyond excited. As quickly as I could I dragged my suitcase with me all the way to the front door and rang the bell. I was still adjusting my outfit when I heard the doorknob turn. And less than 2 seconds later, that gorgeous man was standing right in front of me. I don't know what possessed me, but I couldn't fight the urge to wrap myself around him.
"Nialler!" I exclaimed as I continued hugging him, not wanting to ever let go.
"Soph, I'm so glad you're here." Niall spoke to my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
God, he knew how to get to me. And in that moment it hit me, I had actually fallen for my internet best friend. I know that every girl says that she fancies Niall the worldwide pop star sensation, and I totally understand them, I used to be one of those girls as well. But the more that I get to know Niall, the real him, the more I felt like he understood me like no one else could. It wasn't lust, admiration or just strong fanaticism, it was starting to feel a lot like love, even if we had just met in person. Guess I was bound to get my heart broken, because let's face it, Niall can get any girl in the world, he's never going to fall for me. I can't ruin our friendship, I value it too much to let if get affected by my feelings. I'd rather have Niall as a friend, than not have him at all, I can't let my feelings interfere with our friendship. I know it's going to be hard to hide them, but I have to try, for the sake of our friendship.

I decided to include a picture of her outfit since I saw you all didn't like the one I had described before. Keep in mind I wrote this at the very start of 2020, so fashion has changed since then.
