Today's the first official club session. But I'm not as hyped as I should be.
Class is boring, not to forget what happened yesterday. I feel lucky to not have any cracked ribs.
Oh? Looks like phasing out actually helped me, it's lunch time. Not that I'm hungry...
AYUMU: "Rough morning?"
AKI: "Oh, hey Ayu."
AYUMU: "You didn't fall asleep in class, did you? I was worried after seeing how sleepy you were this morning."
AKI: "Oh, ummm... Nope! I'm completely fine. I was awake the entire lecture."
AYUMU: *Giggle* "Are you really telling the truth? And what's that on the corner of your mouth?"
AKI: "Corner of my... Oh damn it!"
I thought I had wiped the drool off of my face, hey it's not my fault the lecture was so boring. Who needs to know about the silver ratio anyways?!
AYUMU: "Ahaha! I was just kidding. So Aki, you were sleeping in class, gotcha!"
AKI: "Only a little. Gotta keep my energy up for more important stuff, like club activities."
AYUMU: "Nothing is more important in school than your studies Aki."
AKI: "Fine, I'll just borrow someone's notes later. It's hard to keep up with how hard you work Ayu."
AYUMU: "That's really not true..."
AKI: "It is though, your grades rival honor students. Your grades are way higher tha- *YAWN* Whoops, excuse me."
AYUMU: "You're yawning again, so that means you were sleeping a lot. Well, let's get some lunch to perk you up!"
AKI: "Sounds good, I'm not hungry though."
AYUMU: "Come on!"
I was dragged against my will to the cafeteria.
Ayumu had brought her lunch with her, but I got in line to get mine.
Man, this cafeteria really is popular with the students here. All the seats filled up while I was getting food.
AKI: "Sorry I took so long Ayu."
AYUMU: "Welcome back. Did you get today's special? I saved you a seat."
AKI: "I did, and thanks. I notice you brought your lunch with you today."
AYUMU: "Yeah. I talk to my mom the day before about what to make and get the ingredients ready."
AKI: "That's cool. Your lunch always looks so colorful and delicious. You must put a lot of time and thought into it Ayu."
AYUMU: "N-Not really... I'm clumsy, so I always end up cutting the vegtables into weird shapes."
AKI: "Nothing wrong with that, it's unique."
AYUMU: "Even so, I usually burn my rolled eggs, too."
AKI: "Rolled eggs?"
AYUMU: "Yeah, these ones."
AKI: "Honestly, I think that eggs with a little charcoal to them are tastier. The ones you made today look perfect."
AYUMU: "You think so? Here, have one."
AKI: "I-It's fine, it's your lunch Ayu. I wasn't trying to get you to give me one."
AYUMU: "That's okay. Consider it a gift for saying it looked so good. It might not be anything compared to today's special though."
AKI: "Well... If you insist. Thanks."
*Munch*
AYUMU: "Well, what do you think?"
AKI: "Mm, this... This is delicious! Man, the seasoning is just perfect. This is exactly how I like my eggs."
AYUMU: "Thank you, you're making me blush."
AKI: "Rolled eggs may look simple to make but they're actually very complex. Everyone cooks them to various consistencies, with different seasonings."
AYUMU: "You've always been very particular about rolled eggs. Do you...remember when we ate with our families during field day at elementary school?"
AKI: "Yeah, before my Dad got that promotion. I made a big deal that day about how the eggs didn't taste like they always did. But...Just forget about that, it's embarrassing thinking about how I was acting back then."
AYUMU: "I can't just forget something like that! That's an important memory I have with you, embarrassing or not."
AKI: "I guess so. I understand."
AYUMU: "Besides, that's why I worked so hard on these eggs for you."
AKI: "Hm, what did you say?"
AYUMU: "N-Nothing! I said I'll work hard at the idol club today! Now... Let's hurry up and eat before lunch is over."
AKI: "Uh? Okay..."
I guess she's just excited about our club activities today. It's the first official meeting after all, so I can't wait either.
I'm so excited!
