*Kaila's POV*
I walk downstairs and see Kaylin reading again. "Kaylin! You need to get ready. If we are gonna go to the Christmas thing at the park!" I say happily. "You always drag me to these stupid things. You always say something good will come out of it but nothing ever does." Kaylin says. “This won’t be stupid I promise!” I say dragging Kaylin to her room. “What? Am I gonna find prince charming and fall in love?” Kaylin says sarcastically. “You never know! Sometimes I have amazing ideas!” I say. “Like what?” Kaylin says then laughs. “Remember that time we went ice skating and… wait you broke your ankle that day.” I say. “Exactly. I don’t think we should go to this thing.” Kaylin says looking at me. “Well I don’t care. You are coming and you are gonna wear a stupid winter sweater.” I say. “I will come but the sweater is overdoing it a bit.” Kaylin says. “My whole life is about overdoing it!” I say. “Yeah, I know.” Kaylin says and I look at her aggravated then skip up to my room.
*Dan’s POV*
I sit in my room on my computer waiting for Phil to get ready so we can leave to go to a little Christmas Party-thing at the park. It is a tradition for us to go, I don’t really know why though. I hear something bang again against the wall and freak out. I run down to Phil’s room and see him laying on all the floor holding his head. “What did you do this time idiot?” I say helping him up. “I was putting up lights and standing on this chair when bam! I was on the ground.” Phil says. “I should’ve expected that. Are you ready to go yet?” I ask ready to leave. “Can’t we just stay home and be antisocial?” Phil asks. “I wish but we are gonna go to this. We need to do things every now and again. Also, you never know, maybe it will be the best night of your life.” I say. “I doubt it.” Phil says. “Oh come on. Be happy about it.” I say annoyed by Phil’s boring attitude.
*Kaylin’s POV*
I swear, Kaila and her stupid sweaters and parties are going to be the death of me. Why should I have to go out on a cold night, talk to people, and wear a dumb Christmas sweater. Despite all that, I still put the sweater on, walking out of my room. “Happy now?” I ask. “Yes! They sweater is so cute!” Kaila responds. “They aren’t suppose to be cute.” I respond. “Well it is!” Kaila says. “Why do I have to wear this?” I ask annoyed, flopping down on the couch, picking my book back up from where I left it. “It is cute! Plus it is a ugly christmas sweater party.” Kaila says. “I could not go and then save myself the embarrassment.” I say, glaring at her over my book. “Or you could be an amazing friend, having an amazing time and maybe meet some cute boys!” Kaila says. “You always say I will meet cute boys, I never have.” I say. “Look Kaylin; the sweater’s cute, we’re going to the party, and you’re going to meet a cute boy.” she says, pulling the book away from me. “I was reading that!” I protested. “Well now you’re not! Come on!” Kaila says pulling me out to the car. “Ugh” I groan, trudging after her, pulling the sleeves of my sweater down. “You could’ve at least let me grab my jacket.” I say annoyed. “Oh yeah! You should go get that.” Kaila says and I laugh at her stupidity. “You’re such a thoughtful friend,” I say, going inside and grabbing my jacket. Before leaving though, I slip my book into the pocket, going to read it as soon as I got the chance at the party.
*Phil’s POV*
“Dan, it is weird. Usually I am the energetic one but now you are being all crazy and annoying. I do like your little christmas llama sweater though. I will give you points for that.” I say. “Will you be quiet and put the sweater on so we can go?” Dan says, glaring at me. “Oh I have a good idea! I can wear my spooky skeleton sweater instead.” I say. “That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard Phil.” Dan responds slapping me upside the head, obviously mad. “But I don’t wanna go!” I whine, throwing myself to the floor. “Well you are going. Now, get on your sweater, grab your jacket and come to the car.” Dan says. “I am gonna play on my phone the whole time.” I say glaring at Dan. “Fine. I am done fighting with you Phil.” Dan responds. I grin, finally have won something tonight. “Good. I’ll go, but only because I want you to shut up about it.” I say. “You are the only person in the world that fights about stupid things like this!” Dan yells. “I am not! I bet any normal person wouldn’t want to go to this.” I say. “No, there is literally no one else who doesn’t want to go to this party Phil.” Dan says. “Yeah. Every grown person wants to go to a party with a bunch of other grown people wearing sweaters.” I say. “Just. Get. In. The. Car.” Dan growls, walking out the door, slamming it along the way.
*Kaila’s POV*
We make it to the Christmas party and I notice Kaylin glare at the whole scene. “I mean you could at least act like you are having fun.” I say glaring at her. “But that would be lying, and I thought you told me you didn’t want me lying anymore.” she says innocently. “Oh very funny. Just please let this be a good time,” I say, then see a boy with an amazing sweater, “Oh my gosh! Kaylin that boy has a llama sweater! Look at it!” I yell then see him look at me and laugh. “First thing, don’t be so loud if you’re gonna check out boys, I thought we went over this. Second thing, just go talk to him” Kaylin says, looking over the boy suspiciously. “Okay I will.” I say walking over to them. “My name is Kaila and your sweater is amazing.” I say and Kaylin laughs at me. “Dan, who is your friend?” Dan asks. “Kaylin, she doesn’t want to be here though.” I say glaring at her. “Phil, I don’t want to be here either.” Phil says then shakes hands with Kaylin. “Antisocial too huh?” Kaylin asks, pulling a book out of her pocket. “I thought you left that book at home!” I yell at her. “Yeah, like I’m gonna leave my book just to come to this thing,” she laughs. “Wow, I think you two were meant to be; Antisocial and boring.” Dan says. “I’m not boring, I’m normal.” Phil and Kaylin yell at the same time. “Liars!” Dan and I yell. We look at eachother and then all laugh because we all said things at the same time. “Well, I’m going to go over to that dark corner and read. Come get me when you’re ready to leave Kaila” she says, turning around and walking off. “Okay, I am gonna hang out with these hot boys without you.” I say. “You do this. I’ve got my hot boys in my story” she calls back. “Actually hot boy. I am gonna go and sit on my phone.” Phil says.
*Phil’s POV*
“What book are you reading?” I ask looking at Kaylin. “Um, Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters. I’m rereading the series. It is my favorite.” Kaylin responds. “Cool, I am reading this amazing book called Twitter. I am on it like 24/7.” I respond causing Kaylin to giggle. “Would you like to read with me? It is one of my favorites; Amanda Bynes. She is like insane!” I say. “Oh my gosh! She is crazy. Kaila is always telling me about the crazy things she does. Speaking of Kaila, where is she?” Kaylin says. “I think her and Dan walked off somewhere.” I say. “Well, it seems as if Dan stole my friend. I guess I stole his friend too though.” Kaylin says, smiling at me. “Yeah, I usually don’t stay with him at things.” I say then laugh. “Yeah well I should probably find out where Kaila is. She is prone to getting in trouble.” Kaylin says and I laugh. “Yeah, I better find Dan too, he is prone to being stupid.” I say causing Kaylin to laugh.
*Dan’s POV*
Kaila and I were walking along getting some hot cocoa and saying hi to people we knew. “It is really cold out here.” Kaila says then wraps her arms around herself. “Why didn’t you wear a jacket? I noticed Kaylin had one.” I say then laugh. “I am not the smartest. I didn’t realize that I would get cold I guess.” Kaila says then laughs. I take off my jacket and wrap it around her shoulders. “Maybe that will help a little bit.” I say. “Yeah, maybe.” Kaila says blushing. I smile then take a sip of my hot chocolate. I look around at all the little kids playing and I smile at all of them. “I love Christmas.” Kaila says smiling at her surroundings. “I like halloween.” I say and Kaila looks at me funny. “You like halloween?” Kaila asks surprised. “Yeah, I have always been a halloween type of person. Everyone thinks it is weird.” I respond shyly. “No, it isn’t weird. I find it to be kind of cute.” Kaila says shyly. I feel my cheeks become red and I smile at her. I see a statue and notice there is a place to climb on it. “I want to climb on that statue and there is no sign that says we can’t. You in?” I ask pointing at the statue. “Yes!” Kaila says excitedly. We run over and jump on the statue.
*Kaylin’s POV*
Phil and I run around looking for Dan and Kaila when all of a sudden Phil stops. “What in the world are you doing? We don’t have time to stop and stare at a statue.” I say then look at him annoyed. He points up and I look up and see Kaila and Dan sitting on it. “Kaila! What are you doing?” I yell. “Dan did you seriously think this was a good idea?” Phil yells. “No, I thought it sounded fun though.” Dan says. “I mean he isn’t wrong. It does look fun. It also looks completely idiotic though!” I yell and glare at Kaila. “Come on! Be fun for once!” Kaila says. “We are fun but we don’t want to kill ourselves by climbing on a statue.” Phil says. “Exactly! Now get down here.” I say glaring up at Dan and Kaila. “We don’t wanna come down. You guys should come up here!” Dan calls back at us. “Not a chance in the world.” Phil says, turning to walk away. “Wait, we’re just going to leave them up there?” I ask, following him. “I mean, it’s not like they’re going to come down anytime soon, so why not?” Phil says. “Wait! I know how to get her down.” I say then start to run back. “Kaila!” I call up, “If you don’t come down here I’m taking our money and eating without you. No food for you!” Kaila looks at me annoyed and then looks at Dan. “Can Dan and Phil come?” Kaila asks. “Sure, Dan and Phil can come, but only if you come down.” I respond. “Fine, Come on Dan.” Kaila says and I laugh as Dan and Kaila struggle to get down. “You guys didn’t think of a way to get down did you?” I laugh at them once they get down off the statue.
*Dan’s POV*
I helped Kaila get down and laugh as we both fall down. “Sorry.” Kaila says as she laughs. “It is fine.” I say then help her up. “Are you guys ready for food?” Kaylin asks. “Yes!” Kaila responds smiling. I laugh at her and so does Phil. “Don’t worry you guys can laugh at her. She already knows she is crazy.” Kaylin says. “Why are you wearing Dan’s jacket?” Phil asks then winks. “I wanted to help a friend. She looked cold.” I respond then look at Phil sternly. “It is still cold though.” Kaila says. “She gets cold easily. Although I am quite cold too.” Kaylin says then laughs. I wrap my arm around around Kaila and I notice Phil do the same to Kaylin. “C’mon guys, I’m hungry” Kaylin says, trying to pull Phil along. “You’re always hungry Kaylin” Kaila says laughing. “True but right now I am hungry and cold. Those two things combined means that we have to go FAST!” Kaylin says and I laugh as her and Kaila fight back and forth. “You’re almost always cold Kaylin. I don’t see why today’s any different” Kaila says. “I would just shut up. She seems to be getting mad.” I whisper to Kaila and she laughs. “I heard that!” Kaylin yells at us.
