Cakes, pies, and cookies pile up on our table as we stand outside the super market with Amy's coworkers. They helped bake most of these desserts. Haley even helped. She baked her "famous cupcakes". At least, that's what she called them anyway. As they all put there desserts down they all started to leave.

"Thank you guys so much! These look amazing!" Amy said to them.

"Anytime Amy" one of her coworkers George said.

As they all left we put the prices on. The cookies are $20, cakes are $30, pies are $25, and Haley's "famous cupcakes" are $15. But thats if you buy the whole thing. We had little plates where if you bought one or a piece, it would be $3.00 each.

Haley decided she wanted to stay and help. She says because she is a "professional" at this kind of thing.

"I was a girl scout." She told me. "I had to sell cookies all the time and no one could ever say no."

"What did you do? Give them the puppy eyes and tell them you really needed a lot of money so you could win that is pretty little pink bike you have always wanted?" I joked.

She glared at me. "No. I'm good at bribing." I looked at her to let her know that that didn't sound right at all. She looked at me in confusion but finally got what I meant. "Oh! No! I didn't mean it like that! I meant-"

"Ha I know what you meant. You just made it sound... Weird."

"No. You made it sound weird yourself" she laughed. "You thought the wrong way."

"You thought the same way because you found out I was thinking the wrong way just by looking at my face. Therefore, you were too." I said in a fast pace.

She looked at me in confusion. "I hate you."

I laughed and kissed her gently on the nose. "Come on. Let's go make your famous cupcakes."

As we put the sign up, people were looking at the desserts we had. Mostly, they would just scan the table them leave. But their would be people that would come up and ask what was the cause. Amy would tell them and then some would say "Oh that's really great of you guys but I just used my money on groceries." And then some would buy some either the singles or the whole ones. There were other times when a little kid would come around the corner, see the desserts and beg and whine for some. Some parents could take, but some couldn't so they bought some. I loved those kids! I felt bad for the parents, but loved those kids.

Noon came and Amy decided that we could go eat something. I was hungry.

"Me and Mason can go get something and bring it back. Or whatever  you want to do." Haley said.

"Oh. I will go get something. You guys can stay here and watch the table if that's okay."

     "No that's fine." I say.

"Okay well, what do you guys feel like. I can just go get some burgers."

"That sounds good." Haley smiles. Amy smiles back and grabs her keys.

"Watch him for me will you?" She jokes.

"Oh I will" Haley laughs. I roll my eyes.

"Yeah, yeah. Go get the burgers." I say. They both laugh as Amy walks off.

"Hey. We were just joking." She laughed.

"I know but I wanted her to go get us some food I'm hungry." Then this guy with a big beer belly came to our table. He looked as if we was going to drool.

"Can we help you?" Haley asked him.

"Oh." He said startled as if he didn't know we were here. "Yeah uh.. I'm just looking. I have kids at home and I know that they would love some of these." He said patting his stomach.

"Right... Um are You wanting the singles." She said pointing at them. "Or the whole." He looked at them going back and forth.

"Probably a whole to have enough for everyone. Um... I will take one box of chocolate chip cookies, one chocolate cake, and.. Oh.. Those cupcakes."

Me and Haley looked at each other. I shrugged. "Okay. That will be $65" I say.

"Wow. You guys are trying get rich huh?" He said getting his wallet out. "You are lucky I love my children." He gave us the money and we gave him the desserts.

"He's probably lying but hey. We got some cash." I say. Haley nods and laughs.

"If we do raise enough... Are you going to be nervouse to go to the orphanage?" She asked

I shrugged. "No. I'm more excited than anything. I miss them you know?"

     "Yeah... That's good."

"I can't wait for you to meet them. They would love you."

"I can't wait either. They must be amazing since you talk about them so much." She smiles.

"Well look who's here!" I turn to see Grant with his friends.

"Hey. What's up?" I say standing up to greet him.

"We just came her to buy some snacks and beer for the football game tonight. You going to come? Haley can come too."

      "Sorry man. I can't."

"Well alright. What's going on here?"

"We're raising money to help the orphanage have better appliances and make it a safer place for the children." Haley explains.

"Oh. That's cool I guess. Mason.. You're doing this because?"

"It's the orphanage I came from. I know what its like there and this could really help."

"Oh.. Well more power to you man. Here I will buy something. I will take the... Oh red velvet cake."

"That's would be $30." Haley says.

"$30? Oh hell no. What's the cheapest thing you got?"

"These cupcakes." She says. "They're $15."

"Okay. I will take those." He takes out $15 and gives it to me.

"Thanks." I say. "I really appreciate it."

"No problem." Grant says taking the cupcakes. "I'll see you later." I wave at him as he leaves.

A couple minutes later, Amy came back with our lunch. We ate as we still were selling cakes and cookies. By the end of the day, we had about $500. And we sold things every day for about two weeks. Every day after school, me and Haley would drive to the super market to meet up with Amy. By the end of the two weeks, we earned about seven grand. We were hoping for more but this is enough to buy a better fridge and do a little something with the creaky floors.

It was a Saturday when we were going to the orphanage to drop off the money. We were still waiting for Haley. Finally Haley did show up.

"Sorry I'm late." She whispered to me. "For some reason... My mom told me I couldn't go but I said I was going to here I am."

"I don't want you to get in trouble." I told her. "It's okay if you don't go. I understand."

"On no. I'm going. My mom can suck it up. Plus, I snuck out so."

"Alright. You guys ready?" Amy asked. We both got into the backseat her car and went on our way. I grabbed Haley's hand and squeezed it. I was so excited I didn't know what to do. She looked at me and smiled. She kissed my cheek and layed on my shoulder. I just couldn't believe this was happening. Amy looked at me through her view mirror and smiled.

       "You nervous?" She asked.

"No. Excited." I smiled. She smiled back.

The trip felt long and quiet. It felt so much longer than I thought. I wrapped my arms around Haley who fell asleep on my. I looked put the window at all the trees.

"We're getting close." Amy said. I stoop up and looked out the window to wait for the familiar place I will come to. It feels like I haven't been here in forever. It feels like years have gone by bit it's only been a couple months. Finally the building came into view. I let out a long, soft breath as we turned into the parking lot. Haley opened her eyes and looked out the window.

"Are we here?" She asked in a tired voice.

"Yeah. We're here." She opens the door and gets out and I follow behind her. Amy is standing by the door waiting for us. As we get to the door, she rings the bell that I never knew was there. Wow. Then there was a buzz.

"Who is it?" A familiar voice asked.

"It's Amy Miss. Sullivan. I also have Mason with me and his friend." There was another buzz and Amy opened the door. I held my breath as I walked inside to see the familiar place I use to live in. It looks so much worse since I haven't been here in awhile. I didn't realize it was that bad.

"Welcome back Amy! And you too Mason. You look nice. And hello dear. I'm Miss. Sullivan." She said putting out her hand to Haley.

"I'm Haley." She said shaking her hand.

"Mason!" I look to see John and everyone standing in the hallway. They are all smiling at me. I walk towards them. I look at them for a second. Then I grabbed John and hugged them and they all joined in. We finally let go after a couple minutes. "You're looking good Made!" John smiles. "You moving back in?"

"Have they had enough of you and they're sending you back?" Josh commented.

"No I'm just here to drop off some money I raised for you guys."

"You raised money for us?" Alexis said. "For what?"

"Well.. I thought you guys would like a better freezer and better food.. Maybe better floors. Plus, I wanted to see you guys."

"Thanks. That's cool of you." John smiled. Then Haley appeared next to me.

"Oh, guys. This is Haley. She's my girlfriend." They all looked at her and smiled.

"Hi. It's nice to meet you." Johm says shaking her hand.

"It's great to know Mason found someone." Bryan said.

"Especially someone this pretty." Aubrey laughed.

"He's great" she smiles. They all said their names and learned about one another.

"Can I go to the hall?" I ask.

"Oh yeah come on." John said. We started walking towards the hall.

        "The hall?" Haley asked.

"Every time a person gets adopted, they get their name on the wall and day we got adopted." I explain.

"Oh.. That's pretty cool." She says. We walk in the hallway. I go look to find my name. Haley looks at all of them.

         Haley's P.O.V

I scan through the different names and pictures shown. Many names were here. Then I stop when I find a Haley. I smile. I look at the day she was adopted. It's the same day as my birthday. I thought that was really cool. I look up at the picture. I've seen this picture before. I have this picture at home. It's a picture of me as a baby. All the sudden I can't breathe. "Oh my God." I whisper. Mason looks at me.

"What's wrong?" He asks. I keep my eyes on the picture. He walks to me and looks. "Who is that?"

"That's me." I start to cry. He looks at me.

"What do you mean that's you? You weren't adopted. Were you?" All his friends are looking at me now.

"I didn't think so." It was quiet. "This doesn't make any sense!" I run down the hall and leave the building. I sat on the ground and sobbed. I can't believe this is happening that's this is the truth. But now this explains everything.
