it started with a horse

Socks

"Hey dad me and socks are going to go on a quick trail ride." I said
"OK just be careful, and be back before dinner." Dad said
"OK" i said as i run out of house excited and energetic towards the stables as i pass Paul i yell "hey Paul"
"Hey Ella you going on a another ride?"
"Yea i'm gonna go on a quick one before dinner" I said while getting socks saddle and bridle. I walk up to socks and he starts neighing excitedly.
"Calm down" I whisper "we can go on a quick ride before i have to be back before dinner" I grabbed the bridle and open the gate not nervous because I have ridden socks since i could hold myself up and since he was a baby. I put the saddle on socks, grabs his reins and grab my helmet and walk outside. The air was nice and cool on my skin the sun was setting, there was a little wind and it was making my hair go wipe around my face. I hop on socks back and I lean down near his ear and say.
'Lets go fast" i said, because socks is a valuable racehorse that my dad gave to me on my eighth birthday. As I lightly kick him he starts out of the front and turns up the driveway and as we ride I let go of the reins and put my hands up in the air to the side as energy runs through me as we fly up the driveway. We get to the end of the driveway and on the road. And as I decide which way to go a car comes past me and I decide without thinking to race the car so I turned towards the car and we race him down the road. We catch up to him and up ahead was the forest and so we stop right at the beginning of the forest, as i am nervous i am excited so I decided again to go in but then I stop myself because dad doesn't want us to go into the forest.
Dad always says "There are to many creatures that we don't know what is in there and if socks get scared he would dump you and you could fall and break an arm, so don't go into the forest. But i am a child that listens most of the time. When i'm not excited and everything. So i decided to go into the forest I lean down and say "We can do it socks, plus it will help you with your fears of the dark." I said as I leaned up socks starts walking into the forest.
