The corporate owners of NASA were highly impressed with Damian's progress at the end of the first year. They all agreed that it was a extravagant idea to support him in hopes of him inventing a whole new space engine, and possibly ship. Half way through the second year of operation "Hyper Space", there was a fire set in the lab. The fire destroyed everything expect the blueprints. After investigation, the fire was caused by a misfire in the engine. Damian's co-workers went to work on solving the issue, to raise hopes of succeeding. Damian was forced to take a vacation to ease his mind. When he returned a month later, they had made great progress. The problem was solved and the engine was complete. Their next assignment was to install the prototype engine on a older model rocket. They had minimum issue with that. Once it was all prepared, they tested it against newer model rockets. The engine increased the speed by millions of kilometers per hour. NASA cooperates owners were impressed and asked Damian how much it would cost to build a fleet of ships with this engine. He estimated about 10 billion dollars. Then he proposed the idea of NASA buying the blueprints and rights of it off of him. They offered him another 97 billion dollars. He accepted and set off to work.
