Perpetual Shadows
Perpetual shadows overhead looming,
All things bad swiftly blooming.
Light's increasing absence strengthens the dark,
Turning life's former beauty into something cold and stark.
Fear, raw and strong, ignites within,
Caused by the knowledge that darkness will win.
Unopposed and therefore unstoppable,
Darkness claws its way to achieve the unthinkable.
