*three weeks later*
"el, i don't know if i should kiss him or not!" i exclaim.
"do it, but ask first. do you love him?" el asks.
"yes i do! it's just with his past, i'm scared," i explain.
"go and kiss him tonight! you got this!" el shouts.
for our one month, i'm taking will on a picnic. i'm just nervous when i kiss him, he'll reject me. when i get home, i change into a navy blue polo and khaki shorts. all of a sudden there's a knock on the door, it's nancy.
"hey you look nice. why is there a picnic basket downstairs?" nancy asks.
"i'm taking will on a picnic date," i tell her, as i gel my hair.
"oh, you're going to kiss aren't you?" nancy questions.
my face turns a dark red and nancy teases me. at six, i leave to pick up will. when i get there i kiss his forehead.
"hey, you ready to go?" i ask, will nods.
"you look great, babe," i tell him.
"thanks you too."
i lay out the blanket and i let will eat whatever, which isn't a lot. i pull him into lap, playing with his hair. that's when i do it, i start to lean in, and so does will. our lips connect, wills lips are soft. when we pull away, i can't help but smile.
"was that okay?" i ask.
"yes, can i tell you something?"
"of course what's up?"
"this was my first."
"it was mine too. let me bring you home, baby, you look tired."
