Olivia's Diary Entry: Six
April 20, 2016

"You're only as shattered,
as your mind tells you to be"

Depression,
PTSD,
Insomnia,
And Anxiety.
Dr Ann said it was not uncommon,
For patients suffering
From a traumatic past,
To suffer from such.
As if she meant to reassure me,
Comfort me.
When all it did was frighten me,
These were illnesses that wouldn't fade over time,
They would continue to exist within me,
I'd carry them around for an eternity.
There were no cures,
Simply remedies,
For these illnesses would not simply disappear,
As quickly as they had appeared.
I would get better,
Only to get worse ,
Triggered by a memory,
Or event,
My mind would run rampant once more,
And I'd drown,
In my thoughts,
In my feelings.
My own heart,
My own mind,
Would be tools,
Used to destroy any sense of normalcy I would find.
My future would be but a ticking time bomb.
I'm frightened.
Scared this is it,
This would be all I would amount to.
I'm scared this is it.
