* A Few Months Later *

The boys have been touring America. The cities were beautiful. The fans were awesome. It was everything they could imagine and more. The boys were living their dream and having the time of their lives. Only one thing was wrong. Zayn couldn't get over her. Delilah. She was still there. In his heart. Even though, she wasn't really real.

Every concert he performed, he would see her. Or at least he thought he did. His imagination got the best of him. He couldn't concentrate. It just wasn't the same without her. Without his so-called protector. He called her phone everyday, hoping today would be the day she actually answered. But, she never did. Instead, he just heard the annoying voice. 'The person you have dialed has a phone that has been disconnect or is no longer in service'. He tortured himself everyday, starting at her picture. Their picture. Refusing to delete it. Just hoping and waiting, that ine say it can replaced with a new one of them. What she didn't realized is he felt safer with her. He was killing himself. He never stopped looking for her. No one could ever replace her. His girl in the killer red dress...and red MAC lipstick.

The boys really hit it big, selling out concerts worldwide. But the one that shocked them the most was selling out Madison Square Garden. They were more than excited to play New York's most famous arena. They arrived at their hotel a few days early, just minutes from Times Square. Management rented out the entire floor, hoping to eliminate crazed fans that have been known to bang on their doors, in the middle of the night. The elevator was locked and unable to reach their floor without a key. Men stood guard at both ends, securing the stairwells. But it still couldn't keep everyone out.

Zayn walked into his room and saw someone standing by the window. They were just staring...at nothing. He closed the door, trying to make as much noise as possible. But he failed. It didn't even startled the person. He remembered the last person who stood there. He sighed. He wasn't sure if he was really seeing her again. Or, if it was just another figment of his imagination.

"What ya doing in here?" he said, replaying those famous words again. "You can't be in here."

She wasn't alarmed and she barely move. She looked slightly over her shoulder and a smile dance across his face. His eyes lite, with both excitement and fear. She was really here. She came back to him. He slowly approached her, as she turned back towards the window and stared at the skyline. He couldn't be more happier to see her, but we both knew it couldn't be for long.

I stood there, in his room. It look quite different from the mayhem I witnessed before. No one else was suppose to be show. But I knew he would, eventually. It's how we met and it's how I wish for us to meet, again.

He stood beside me, in silence. Scared to speak. Scared to breathe. Then finally, he did.

"I've missed you," he whispered.

I didn't reply, even though I was smiling on the inside.

"You don't how many times, I've seen you before today. I was hoping this time was for real."

I smiled, "Yeah, it's real."

He turned his head to say something, but didn't. He just turned back and looked out the window again. I wanted to hug him, to touch him, to feel him, but I remained still. I showed no emotion towards him. I wanted to be a stone.

"How's Niall and the other guys," I asked.

He sighed, "They're alright, I guess. A lot has changed since you left."

I sighed. A lot has changed since we last met. I didn't know if he changed, like I have, and I wasn't really sure I wanted to find out.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come back." I crossed my arms.

"But I'm glad you did." He quickly explained. "I've been going crazy without you."

I smirked, "Not that crazy. Heard you have a new girlfriend. Pretty lil thing."

Zayn smiled, running his hand through his hair, "Yeah. Her name's Perrie. She's really sweet. You would really like her."

"Yeah, I do."

He stopped cold and started at me hard. I thought it was rather funny.

"I already ran a background check on her," I teased, smirking. "As long as she don't hurt you, I think she's cool."

He chuckled, harder than expected. "So...how's Aaron?"

I hesitated before answering. "He recovered. He's in the field now...as my partner."

"...And ya boyfriend?"

I smirked, "No, strictly business."

He exhaled, a sigh of relief. I thought it was humorous that he would still be jealous of Aaron after all this time. Maybe, he hasn't changed much at all. Only time will tell. But that's not why I came back. Not the reason at all. And, as of reading my mind, he asked the question.

"So why are you here," he asked, curiously.

"I have a job here."

"You mean, you doing a job."

I nodded.

"So...you didn't come back for me." Zayn lowered his head, disappointed.

I felt his heart fall at that moment. I couldn't hold back my feelings anymore. I just had to tell him. I turned towards him, so I could see his eyes, his reaction.

"Yes and no. I wanted to make sure you were still safe. So, I took full advantage of this assignment. I made a promise that I would always watch over you and I am keeping my promise." I sighed, turning back to the window. "Besides, I really wanted to see you."

"Oh really," Zayn smiled, cutting his eyes at me. "Is that it?"

I tried not to smile, but I couldn't help myself. "Maybe."

Zayn grabbed my waist and spinned me around so that my back was against the window. His hand gently glided up my arm to my neck; while the other hand held me firmly between his body and the thick glass, overlooking the city. He had me pinned. I could have easily moved or break his arm, but I was exactly where I wanted to be.

I leaned my head against his, as his eyes met mines. He caught the hint and pulled me in, for a passionate kiss. Our lips were in sync, as if we've been together all this. Like, I never left. One rhythmic motion. It may have only been a few seconds, but it felt like forever. When we finally came up for air, his hands were cupping my face, catching a few tear drops. You can say, I missed him, too.

"I know I should have called," I whispered. "But You know why I couldn't. It isn't safe to be around me."

"I still wanted to hear your voice, to know you were still alive."

"I did, too. That's why I have every recording of you dialing me." I told him, pathetically.

"How is that..." He chuckled, nodding. "Aaron."

I grinned. It was beyond pathetic of me. Keeping a record of a guy calling my disconnected phone, just to hear the sound of his voice, his breathing and his disappointed sighs. I was beyond love sick. I was heartbroken.

I smiled, "This isn't exactly easy for me. I never fell for a mark before, but you were different. You were special."

I wipes my eyes and pushed passed him. He followed me, to the center of the room. He wrapped his arms around me, resting his chin in the crock of my neck.

"I wish this was different. That I was different..."

"Don't." Zayn stopped me, spinning me around to face him. "Don't even."

I tried to turn away from him, but he stopped me.

"I know you're different and that what I like about you. You can't keep shutting me off like that. And, you're definitely not gonna talk bad about my g...." He stopped. His gaze held mines, as he sighed. "I fell for you a long time ago and it hasn't gone away. You may not want me, but I haven't stopped loving you."

I shook my head, "I know. I just wish I was normal. "

"I'm glad you're not," he laughed. "Normal's overrated. Besides, if you were, I'd be dead and I would have never met you. I would have never fell for you. "

I smiled. Zayn was kinda right. Before my assignment, I had no idea who he was. I wouldn't have even given him a second glance. I wouldn't even be the compassionate person that I am today.

His hands were still holding my waist, staring into my soul. I crashed my lips into his. He flinched, unexpecting my actions. However, it didn't take him long to pull me closer. I rested one of my hands on the back of his neck; the other was playing in hair.

I pulled back and leaned my head against his, "I never stopped loving you, either. I just...think it's better with me out of the picture."

"So why," he grinned his teeth. "...are you here?"

"My father sent me."

His jaw dropped, so did his hands. I held myself, as Zayn tried to find the words to speak.

"So, does that mean, someone else is after me? Am I not safe anymore," Zayn whispered in my ear.

"You will always be safe with me. But there is a new threat," I frowned. "I think he's contacted you boys already."

Zayn leaned his head back, confused, "I don't know. We get threats all the time. What's his name?"

"His name is Mr. X and I have a game for him." I told Zayn, as he smiled.

He knew I wasn't going anywhere until the job was done. I promised my boys that I would return to hunt down anyone who wanted to hurt them and I was ready for anything. I can't fail and I won't fail. Get Ready. Next stop, Madison Square Garden.

I want to thank everyone for reading, commenting and voting for my story. I'm really sad this book is finally finished, but their story isn't. It's just the beginning. It's going down in NYC and Delilah is just the girl to end it all. They picked the right girl for the job and she won't stop until her boys are safe. Check out 'The Target 2: Madison Square Garden', coming soon.
