!!!Before you read this chapter please read this note!!!

To address Louis in the story. He isn't a bad guy, this chapter might make him seem like one. When, in fact, he is just a protective person to the reader. He isn't meant to be the bad guy but if he needs to be in order to keep her safe he's willing to do that. It isn't to make him a villain of the story. In fact, he's here for the opposite reason, it's simply the begging of the story. Meaning he isn't as developed in relationships and talked about. Please don't assume he's an asshole because he isn't :)

Her hand drew back quickly, eyes not leaving the deer's own as the two were stuck in one another's gaze. So many emotions seemed to be flowing through the dear friends eyes, none of which [F/n] didn't feel guilty about. The sudden flow of emotions had to have been caused by her and Legosi.

After all the only other people around were stragglers. Few looking at the scene to see what the popular deer had suddenly called out about. But other than that there was no trouble brewing, or no carnivores simply trying to gawk at herbivores. Everything was peaceful aside from her and the wolf.

"Louis-"

"Shouldn't you be in class, Legosi, last time I checked talking to a girl doesn't count as education"

The hatred in the deer's eyes were more than enough to get the wolf to start standing up fully. His eyes, almost instinctively, looking back down at the human girl who was still with him. She wasn't looking at him but back at Louis.

With his arms crossed, the deer approached a bit more. Only to get somewhat in the face of the bigger beast telling him to leave with only his body. Seeing as the popular male didn't want to start anything in the hallways. And he, especially, didn't want anything to happen between the two in front of the girl.

Legosi hated to see how Louis seemed to immediately go to [F/n] and stand in front of her. Blocking one another's view of the other. Though the wolf felt his blood boil for a moment, he realized nothing would be gained from yelling at the deer or even making eyes at him.

"I- you're right...sorry Louis"

"You don't need to apologize, go to class. You don't belong here"

'You don't belong with HER'

The words never left the red deer's mouth. But with the words he HAD let out along with his actions, it was clear to the wolf what he was truly saying. Backing up only a step Legosi looked down to see a fictional line being drawn between him and the other two.

A small barrier that wasn't meant to be crossed, or at least, Louis didn't want to be crossed. In his own mind the wolf could see the two of them growing further and further away from him. Darkness consuming their figures as they disappeared from his sight. A stinging pain filled his chest as he watched it.

"Are you just going to stand there?"

Louis' snapping words caused Legosi to come back to reality. Seeing the two were still there, but in his mind they were gone. He looked down to see [F/n]'s head peaking out from Louis body. Her eyes held such an apologetic stare he couldn't help but feel his body start to hunch a bit.

He had known the girl for less than 24 hours and he was already in a losing battle against the most popular male in the school. But, nonetheless, he took the deer's words with caution and excused himself.

Walking away with his tail sticking down. Having to stop himself from turning around as the sweet smell of vanilla began to leave his senses. He could feel his body getting the slightest bit colder as it did so. Making him more envious of the deer that stayed by her side, surely he had to be feeling the warmth he was.

════ ⋆★⋆ ════

The girl still hadn't turned her attention to Louis. His gaze was more than prominent on her though, even she could feel it. No sixth sense or need to be a beat to sense what he was feeling and who he was looking at.

Weight seemed to be pushed down onto her shoulders. Her hand still hidden behind her back as best as it possibly could be. If she showed him she had no idea how he would react, he hated carnivores enough without seeing the marking on her arm.

"[F/n],"

The girl couldn't hold back a small flinch as she finally heard his voice come out. Though it was a lot less strict than a few moments ago, it didn't stop the girl from being somewhat scared to what he was going to say. The look in his eyes when she first mentioned meeting the male at the club yesterday was proof enough that Louis didn't want them in contact. The reasons still unknown to her.

"Would you explain to me what the hell that was?"

"I-It wasn't anything Louis"

Bullshit, that was the word that quickly flew through both of their minds. It wasn't nothing, but it also wasn't anything big, the exact reason the girl tried to play it off as nothing. Of course though, that wasn't going to flow happily with the deer, he wasn't as quick to drop the subject.

To say Louis didn't want to yell was a fatal lie. He was ready to let all the air leave his lungs in a speech to the girl, it was as if everything he had told her prior just went in one ear and out the other. Almost as if she didn't care for what he had warned her about.

"That wasn't nothing and we both know it. This is the first time I've heard you lie to me,"

"I'm sorry..."

A stinging sensation went to the girls eyes, knowing full well that tears were ready to fall from her eyes. Something that had happened more than once at the old house. Being reprimanded and talked to strictly never sat well with her. In fact, it made her feel weak when she'd feel the familiar pools of wetness build up in her eyes because of something so small.

"I'm not mad at you [F/n],"

"Y-Yes you are Louis...I know you are"

"Maybe a bit, but I just want you to stay safe. People here aren't who they appear to be"

Tem, it was obvious that the male was talking about him. The person who killed him HAD to be a student, that much both of them knew. Meaning the killer had been walking amongst them, acting completely normal day in and day out. So much so that no one was able to tell that they had eaten such a kind herbivore.

"Your arm,"

The words caused the girl to perk up. Her head suddenly snapping straight up to Louis' seeing his gaze to the one hidden behind her back.

"It's behind your back,"

"My back is warm"

"You just love lying today, don't you?"

His tone became more harsh, making the girl once again feel the familiar sting of tears rise to her eyes. She didn't want to lie to him, but the truth wouldn't do any good for either of them. Not to mention with the uncertainty of the deer's next actions upon seeing the mark.

Louis continued to glare at her arm, highly disliking the fact that [F/n] had been refusing to show it to him. All the lying she kept doing wasn't helping his mood either, dragging it down more and more with every lie that seemed to come out of her mouth. She had never been like this before, only now at the school, after meeting that wolf.

Of course the deer immediately suspected that the wolf had done something to coax her into lying. Whether it be threaten her or simply try to make the deer to be the bad guy he didn't know. But until he learned the truth of the matter, the grey carnivore was going to be the prime suspect for her sudden attitude change.

"Show me"

"I don't want to Louis, don't we need to get to class?"

"I'll bring you when we're done. Now, show me your arm"

His hand quickly went to reach for her arm, resulting in her pushing her body back a bit. Knowing that the window was close, she knew that if he kept doing this she wasn't going to have a lot of options to turn to.

Once again he put his hand out for her arm, the same instance happening once again just like the girl thought that it would. Looking up, she saw the absolute fury in his eyes as he kept trying to reach for her arm. She hated having to make him feel that way, to make him angry at her, but it was better for him than seeing what she was hiding.

"You love me don't you?"

'What-'

"Let me see your arm, show me you love me like you say you do"

His words caught her off guard, causing her to still only for a moment. Seeing her body freeze at his words, he went to grab her arm again. Trying his best to ignore the feeling that was building up in his chest from her held back answer. She'd just have to answer him later.

his hand grazed her upper arm before the bell loudly rang. Both of them now being frozen in place, knowing that next a wave of carnivores and herbivores alike would be coming into the hallways with them. Along with them that would mean the crazed fans of Louis, that he would rather not deal with.

When [F/n] realized what was happening, she took it as her chance to turn away. Quickly putting her hand to the front of her body as she began to turn away from the deer. Still being able to shield her arm from his view.

"I-I know where my second period is from here Louis, t-thank you for the help"

He watched her for a moment as she moved forward just the smallest bit. Students soon filling the hallways around the two. The girl didn't get far before a voice called out her name. She turned back slowly, hoping that the male wasn't right behind her to try and grasp her arm yet again.

"I expect to see you later"

"O-of course"

She smiled lightly, going to turn around again only to hear Louis yell to her again. Making her stop once again. Another wave of anxiety went down her body as she turned. Eyes widening a bit at his new and sudden look.

His eyes no longer held rage, but sadness as he looked at her. The deer's face seemed to fall so much that [F/n] couldn't help but feel guilty at the way she avoided him. Knowing it was best but still, she couldn't help but feel responsible for the look of sadness he was showing.

"Yes, Louis?"

The girl watched as he turned away from her, slightly expecting him to simply walk off but he didn't. Unlike [F/n], Louis didn't turn his head to face her. Instead he spoke the words to her without looking at her. Leaving even more of an impact on her than the words themselves already did.

"I swear I'll find whoever clawed up your arm"
