<Charlie Hutson POV>
Waking up in a white room was weird, like you're dead.
Am I dead?
"Good morning Charlie." Someone said startling me.
Looking around I saw nothing, "Hello?"
"Top corner." They said, making me look at the top corners of the room.
I saw one to the right of me and crawled over to it a bit.
"Hi." I said waving my hand up to it.
They laughed, "Hi Charlie."
"Who are you?" I asked curiously
"My name is Felix." They said to me
"Hi Felix, I'm Charlie." I responded.
"I know Charlie, now how are you feeling?" Felix asked
"Fine, where am I?" I asked
"The rehab room, they asked me to watch you for a bit. Since you kil-Never mind." Felix said, trying to change the subject.
"So how long am I in here?" I asked
"A few weeks I'm afraid." He said to me
"Where's mom?" I asked, laying down again.
"Mom? Oh! Kiley. She's around...here...somewhere." He said slowly
"Oh ok...so what do I do in the meantime?" I asked him
"Well, anything, I'm just here to watch." Felix said to me.
"Can I ask you questions?" I asked to him
"Sure, why not." He said back
For a while we just asked questions about each other until mom jumped in.
"Hi Charlie." Mom said
I waved at the camera, "Hi mom!"
"How are you doing so far Charlie?" She asked
"I'm fine mom. How's Jason?" I asked
She was silent for a moment, "He's good...he's good..." She said slowly
"Does he know?" I asked, referring to Oscar.
Again she was silent, "Yes, he does Charlie."
"He doesn't want me anymore does he?" I asked, hanging my head in shame.
"He does Charlie, he really does. Sure he wasn't expecting this, but he still wants you with him." She assured me.
It didn't reassure me, so I started to cry.
The 1 door from the room opened and mom came running in to comfort me.
I was rubbing my eyes as tears flowed, while mom held me and slowly rocked me.
"I'm sorry mom! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do it..." I sobbed into her shirt.
She gently stroked my hair, trying to sooth me.
It worked after a while, and I paid in her lap while she rocked me still.
"I'm sorry mom..." I whispered
"I know you are, but there's nothing I can do." She told me
"What about Dean?" I asked
"He's also been put in a rehab room for a bit. Since he's a bit on the more...extreme side." She said to me
"Mom, what did Jason say to...you know." I asked
"Well, when I told him, he was surprised. Then asked why you did it, I told him I didn't know. I asked him how he felt and he was worried about you and when you would get out of this rehab room." Mom said.
"Alright." I said nuzzling into her.
Eventually she had to go. I felt lonelier. Yes Felix was there, but it didn't feel the same.
"I hate this." I said to no one
"Well, you just have to wait, I guess..." Felix said trailing off.
TIME SKIP to: 2 weeks.
"Charlie? Where are you? Come on Charlie." Someone whispered
"Hello?" I asked, maybe I was going insane
"Charlie?" They said back
"Oh god have I finally gone insane?" I whispered to myself
"Hehe, no Charlie look up." They said, making me look up.
Dean was there staring down at me, he was in the role of the ceiling.
"How did you get up there?" I asked
"Secret, my dear." Dean said, holding a finger to his lips.
"Ok...so what are you doing up there?" I asked confused
"I wanted to see where you are." Dean said simply.
"That's sweet. Where is Felix?" I asked
"Felix, Felix...Felix." Dean said, thinking.
"You know, the guy watching me." I said pointing to the camera in the other corner.
"Oh! Dog!" He said understanding.
"Dog?" I asked confused
"Yeah, dog. Or Felix as you call him. I...kinda locked everyone out of the rehab section." He told me
I sighed, "You're hopeless."
He jumped down from the ceiling, starling me.
"What are you doing?! How will you get back?" I asked panicked
"Don't worry, I'll get back." He said sitting next to me.
"What time is it?" I asked
"4:35 AM." He said
"Wow, what are you doing up?" I asked
"Bored, what are you doing up?" He asked back
"I thought it was already morning. I can't wait to get out of here." I said laying down on the floor.
"Me too, I wonder if Wendy knows." He said laying down with me.
Turning to him he smiled, "How are you feeling?"
"Fine, I guess. Bored. There's no one here." I responded
He turned fully to me and pulled me into a hug.
"You'll be out of here soon." He said nuzzling into my hair.
Slowly I fell asleep next to him
It was soothing, I don't know why.
Maybe it's because I'm getting lonely.
When I did wake up, he was gone.
Again, I felt lonely.
"Charlie, you ok?" Felix asked through the camera
Sitting up I rubbed my eyes, "Yeah, just tired."
"Good news is, you're getting out soon. Maybe in 5 days. Fewer if they think you're good." Felix said
"Alright...hey? What about Dean? Any say when he's getting out?" I asked
"Dean? Oh well. Unknown about him. He's a bit...more sensitive." He said choosing his words wisely.
"You mean he's more insane, right?" I asked, not caring.
"Woah woah, no, that's not what I meant!" Felix said trying to fix his words
"But it is. I know how people think of Dean. It's not nice, but oh well." I said shrugging
Felix went silent for a second, "I'll be honest with you Charlie, something isn't normal about that kid."
"You're wrong, nothing's wrong with him. Nothing is wrong with anyone here. We're all different in the same way: People think we're dangerous." I said to him
Once again, Felix went silent, "Felix opened the door."
The door opened and in stepped Jason.
"Jason?" I asked, starting to tear up.
He smiled sadly, "Hey buddy."
I started actually crying and he sat down next to me.
He placed his arm around me and let me lean on him.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I cried over and over to him
Jason didn't say anything. He just sat there holding me.
When I did calm down he was stroking my hair. "You good now?" Jason asked
Slowly I nodded, "Why are you here?" I asked
"I wanted to see you. Kiley said that you were lonely." He said, still stroking my hair.
"You're not mad?" I asked sitting up.
"No, of course not. Charlie what you did is not going to be held against you. They can't hold it against them." He explained
"Why not?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.
He sighed, "Because of what they think of you."
"'What do they think of me?' What do you mean? Cause they think I'm dangerous?" I asked confused
"Yes Charlie, they think you're dangerous. So they can't hold it against you, if they already know." He confirmed
I laid down in his lap again, "So you still want me?"
"Of course Charlie. Who knows? Maybe me, Kiley, and you can be a family." He chuckled at his own statement.
"Mom is living with you, right?" I asked looking up to him
"Yeah, been dating for 9 months? Just about. She's been living with me for the last 2." He said
"How is she?" I asked
"She's good, she wants to redecorate Marley's room for you, but we want you to do something with it." Jason explained.
"What happened to Marley?" I asked
Jason stopped, "He was buried a few weeks ago..."
"That's good. At least he got a funeral." I said.
"You want to come home right? Even if you didn't, I still want to check up on you." He asked
"Yes I want to come home. I don't know why I did it, I really don't Jason." I said tears started to look in my eyes.
"It's ok, it's ok." Jason said, hugging me to his chest.
Somehow I fell asleep, I've been sleeping a lot lately.
Maybe it's to get away from loneliness
Or to get away from this world
Could be both
Like it was my brain giving me what I wanted: To be dead.
Fun Fact: This story is a struggle to write. Maybe it's writer's block, could be how I post.
As you know I post every 2 days. That's how I write, but it gets harder when I'm getting writer's block.
