Before Nomi was ever in JYP Entertainment, she was a trainee at PLEDIS Entertainment for 3 years and 1 month. She finally made her debut as NØAMI on February 26, 2015 with her single "Why Why", it peaked at 48th on the Gaon Music Chart. Only after 9 months, Nomi decided to quit due to her being forced to do sexual concepts at 17 year old ( still a minor in Korea ). Afterwards, she joined YG Entertainment but was let go after a couple of months, with seemingly no where to go Nomi gave up, gave up on trying anymore. As she was passing by on the street she saw that JYP Entertainment were having auditions, something pushed her to go inside. There she preformed "LOVEGAME" ( since she knew the dance ) and was accepted, now we know her as the successful, beautiful Kpop soloist.

'Why Why' did moderately good and reached 48th on Gaon Music Chart and 96th on Melon Music Chart. 'Why Why' is an innocent, high school crush, and typical drama type of concept, although Nomi later expressed that she hated singing this song because of the annoying way the company would make her sing this song, not allowing her to show her natural, soft, mellow vocals. In this era Nomi did appear on a few music award shows but not enough promotion that NØAMI really got out there to the media.

'DRIZZLE' has a party type of concept with the colour scheme mainly being pink, silver, and some sparkle. This is where Nomi started to shift towards a more mature concept, a very quick change in direction. The song is R&B and has some jazz in the background, this showed her natural singing voice rather than her fake high voice. She only appeared on SBS and KBS stages ( still being minimal). This single only charted 50th on Gaon Music Chart.

'LOVEGAME' has a more proactive music video than any other ones NØAMI has had, it includes closeups on parts of Nomi's body, noticeably less clothing, suggestive messages, and images of men spying on Nomi. Soon after 'LOVEGAME' came out Nomi decided on leaving PLEDIS Entertainment because of the embarrassment she felt by filming the MV. She said that it brought shame into her family and most of her friends left her. This garnered a small amount of attention because of the controversy over a Nomi doing such things, but not enough to save her from debt.

Nomi has brought up her past solo career on Vlives and such, she expressed her discomfort with the sexy concept while being so young. She has made references to her songs as NØAMI and mentioning her difficulties at that time.
