I was wrong
We were a lost cause,
I knew it all along
But for one moment
I could have promised
That we were something more.
I thought we both felt sparks
Both saw flying stars.
But I was wrong.
I fell too fast:
Never thinking twice
Never thinking you’d hurt this bad
I told myself I knew in my heart
It wasn’t distance keeping us apart.
But I was wrong.
It hit me like a tidal wave
Crashed into me
And I couldn’t breath
So you waited until my cheeks turned blue
And you couldn’t look at me the way you used to.
Why did I keep waiting,
When you didn’t love me at all?
You ripped us apart at the seams
Before it meant anything to anyone but me.
I thought we both felt sparks

All right, I wrote this about my ex cause we just broke up, yes that sucks yada yada yada but my point is...I don't care if things in this poem aren't perfect and could use some fixing. When I'm not so fucking pissed at him (who am I kidding, I'm Irish; we're always mad lol) I will go back and make it better.
