Lyric's POV
"I'm gonna come over and do your hair. I'm thinking we'll flat iron it. You're gonna look amazing." Liz raved as we sat for lunch. I smiled weakly and nodded my head.
"Sounds good. We can meet at my house." I replied.
"Lyric, your sister is so lucky, Peter Parker is a total babe. Too bad he's a little too...jumpy for my taste." The blonde girl, Betty, swooned. I looked over at Peter and Jamie talking intently at their own lunch table.
"I don't understand what he sees in her," I mumbled.
"Come on, Lyric, don't be mean. Lest we recall all the times you swerved Peter for all the other guys you were dating." Liz chided.
"I didn't even know he liked me." I lamented.
"It was pretty obvious. Half the school knew. Flash teased him about it mercilessly." Betty added.
"I thought Flash was just being a dick like usual." I scoffed.
"Whatever. Peter's happy, your sister's happy, and soon you will be too. I mean, yeah Jack is a little older but he's Tony Stark's cousin-in-law. You're gonna practically be royalty." Liz stated.
"Isn't this kind of illegal? Jack is over 18." I sighed.
"Sis, you're only two months away from your 18th. Who cares about 2 months?" I was gonna add something when a crash was heard in the cafeteria. Everyone got quiet and looked at Peter with spaghetti on his head.
"Whoops? My bad Penis Parker." Flash laughed. Others began to join in and I saw red.
"Leave him alone Eugene!" I seethed, standing from my seat. All eyes were now trained on me as I stalked toward the two boys.
"W-what's it to you, Roy?" Flash stuttered.
"What was the reason for throwing your lunch on his head, asshole? Did that feed you? Satisfy you? Make you happy?" I asked. Flash stayed quiet. "Maybe if you were secure in your own abilities, you wouldn't feel threatened by those who are better than you." I spat my final blow to his ego as most the cafeteria "ooo"ed. Flash left the cafeteria and I turned to Peter who was looking at me in awe.
"You okay?" I asked. He nodded slowly.
"Th-thank you for sticking up for me." Peter stuttered. I smiled slightly.
"I'll always stick up for you, Peter," I vowed before walking back to my own table.
"That was so badass! The damsel saves the knight in distress! I love it!" Liz cheered. I could see Jamie watching me in confusion. I shrugged and smiled at her. She didn't return my smile but instead turned from me and doted over Peter, leading him out of the cafeteria.

I paced my room trying to piece together the facts from this strange world. Dad and Jenny are alive so Hydra never got them or me, which also explains my lack of powers. Jamie is dating Peter and I'm involved with Jack. I don't know any of the Avengers and I most definitely don't know that Peter is Spider-Man.
But at least he's alive.
But the kids. I never even thought of them before accepting! Is all this worth it? I don't know what's gonna happen in this future. They aren't promised here in this world. Who even sent me here?
"Um...hello? Disembodied voice who brought me here? Who are you?" I asked cautiously. It was a while before I got a response.
"I've been watching you for a while, Lyric. You have been through a lot." The voice replied.
"Yes, while that is the understatement of the year, I want to go back. I didn't think this through. My kids are in that other world. They need me." I stated. The voice laughed at me, echoing around the room.
"Sweetheart, you're here and that is that. There is no going back. You made your bed, now lie in it." The voice said sinisterly.
"You didn't tell me it'd be like this. You tricked me!" I growled.
"Your boy is alive and you're finally normal. Isn't this what you wanted?"
"I wanted him to be with me."
"Should've specified, darling."
"When I find out who you are, I'm gonna kick your-"
"Who are you talking to?" Liz asked, startling me. I turned to her and chuckled nervously,
"Liz! Well...I'm secretly...you see I love to act! I was just going over a monologue out loud. Hehe, sorry." Liz just shrugged and threw her make up kit on my bed.
"Well, your date is in like 2 hours so hop in the shower. I'll pick out your fit." She said. I complied and showered. When I came out in my towel, I saw a maroon long sleeve knit dress.
"Put this on while I go plug in the straightener in the bathroom," Liz instructed. I put on the dress and allowed her to flat iron my hair and do my makeup.
"Jack is gonna be so impressed! Like you're already so beautiful and now you're gonna look irresistible!" She gushed.
"Thanks, Liz." I smiled back. When I was all done, Liz and I walked downstairs to see Peter and Jamie on the couch watching a movie.
"Wow sis, you look hot. Jack might actually like you." Jamie sneered. I looked over at Peter who was staring at me like I was water in the Sahara. As he should.
"What do you think, Peter?" I asked softly.
"You look beautiful." He replied in the same soft tone. I smiled but looked to the door as the bell rang.
"Must be Jack," I mumbled to myself. I opened the door and there he stood, the little gap between his front teeth smiling at me. A flood of emotions took over me, the primary one being relief.
"Hi." I smiled back, happiness radiating through me.
"Hey, you look gorgeous. Are you ready to go?" Jack asked. I took one last glance behind me, Liz and Jamie giving me encouraging smiles while Peter looked dejected. I almost stopped to go to him until Jamie shoved me out, into Jack's arms.
"You two lovebirds enjoy yourselves now. Bye-bye!" She grinned, slamming the door shut. I looked up at Jack, who was smiling down at me.
"You hungry?" He said biting his lip.
"I can eat." I shrugged, happily staring into those eyes again.
*Later*
Lyric's POV
"I had a really great time tonight," Jack commented, stopping on my doorstep.
"So did I." I smiled. Suddenly Jack was leaning down toward my face and my eyes went wide. I can't cheat on Peter! So I did the first thing I thought of.
I fake sneezed.
Jack's forehead smashed against my own and then I regretted my choice of action.
"Shit!" Jack hissed, rubbing his forehead. I mumbled my own string of curses, stroking my own forehead.
"I'll text you later. Sorry. Bye." I rambled, entering my house and closing the door. As I turned around, Peter was standing in front of me.
"H-Hey, how was your date?" He asked.
"Good, ya know. We slammed foreheads so that's something." I laughed nervously.
"Jamie fell asleep so I'm gonna head home."
"Yeah, that makes sense." Peter chuckled lightly and looked me in my eyes, my heart fluttering at being so close to him again.
Damn, I'm really whipped for this boy.
"You seem jumpy. You've never been like this before, especially not around me." He commented.
"Would it be wrong to say you make me nervous?" I mumbled, never breaking eye contact. Peter was the one who looked away, pink dusting his cheeks.
"I bet you use that line on all the boys." He said quietly.
"You'd be surprised, Parker," I replied, a small smile pulling at my lips. Peter looked down at his phone and grimaced.
"I should go." He said apologetically.
"Get home safe, Peter, and have a good night," I said opening the door.
"Same to you. Tell Jamie I'll call her tomorrow?"
"Sure. Bye." I closed the door, my heart fluttering unbelievably fast, but I was also confused. I came here for Peter but Jack is also here. Peter, the father of my children, and Jack, the man that was taken from me too soon. Plus, Peter is with Jamie. Who am I to ruin my sister's relationship?
You know what, that's kind of dumb on my part. I hit it first so technically she's getting my sloppy seconds.
I'm gonna find a way to make this right. I'm stealing back my husband while playing my role in this twisted reality.
