Numbers that used to testify me
I will never know how my life will be
Every turn and every mistake
All those heads turn and give hate
Just because I count and learn
Just because my mind can burn
I'm a human too
I have feelings, I'm a child
I'm a child full of wonder
Eyes full of curiosity that makes me ponder
But how will a child like me know
How to throw stones and build forts and put on shorts and give a snort
I'm not perfect
I'm not a doll
Throw me around and tell me what to do
Just so you can show me off and not throw you a boo
Because everyday has been hell
Everyday doesn't ring me a bell
So please, let me play
Let me play outside
Let me learn how to jump on ropes and slide down hills
Let me learn how to dive in the river
But the only river I dived into
Was a river full of tears
Filled with sadness and cruelty
So please, let me play
Let me play outside just this once
