And please do not treat me like a child, Renz. Oo, childish ako but I lived alone in LA for a year," she stressed drily.
Napatiim ang labi ko. "Hindi ko alam. All that I know, hindi siya papayag na basta ka lamang magpakasal kahit kanino."
"Kaya ikaw ang napili niya?" She laughed ironically. "That's bull."
I sighed. "Look, ang alam ko lamang oras na magkagusto ka sa isang lalaki na tatapat o hihigit sa kung ano ang mayroon ka, pababayaan ka ng Lolo mo na pumili ng lalaking makakasama mo. 'Yan ang sinabi niya sa akin last year when he told me about his greatest plan. You have a choice, Deanna. Ako ang wala," matigas na sabi ko. "Dahil oras na wala kang makita na lalaking kagaya ng hinahanap ng Lolo mo, hindi ako maaring tumanggi."
Nakita ko na natigilan ito. Pagkuwa'y tumawa ng tila hindi pagkapaniwala. She lifted a brow. "You must really love your Nina para ayawan mo ang kayamanan ko, Renz."
