Chapter 38 : I LIKE HIM!
ISABELLA'S POV
I continued walking but he was really heavy !
"Excuse me!" I called out to a student who was passing by
"I need your help in carrying him till the corner!"
"Sure" he replied and he took Ro's other arm , swung it around his shoulder .
That way , we carried him and laid him on the institute's health centre's bed .
"What happened to him ?" the nurse asked me immediately
"Please call the doctor "
"Okay" She said and went inside a room , then they both appeared in the room .
"Royal?!"
"Doctor "
"Isabella , right ?"
" Yes . He just fainted while walking "
"Why is his hair wet ?"
" He was swimming for around 2 and half hours before that"
"Over exertion" she sighed and gave some instructions to the nurse .
" Thanks for your help " I told the stranger .
" Mention not " he said and left .
Doctor continued his check up and the nurse asked me ,
"What did he ate last ?"
"He skipped lunch " I replied
"Breakfast ?"
"I don't know . I'll call his friend and ask if you want "
"Okay "
"Doctor , he'll be okay , right ?"
"Yes Isabella , he'll be fine.
Don't worry . I think it's just because of weakness ,stress , over exertion "
I nodded and dialled Jessica's number .
"Hey Jess "
"Hi .Where are you ? Dance class is about to start "
"Listen . Don't freak out , okay? I am in the health centre "
"Why ? What are you doing there ?"
"Look , Ro fainted suddenly "
"I'm coming there"
"Yes , wait don't hang up ! Do you know what Ro ate for breakfast ? "
"No , I don't . Ask Fred"
"Oh okay , send me his number first "
"Yaa" she said and I hung up .
Ro please be okay !
You don't freak out yourself !
I'm trying here...
I received her text and I called Fred .
"Hello?"
"Fredrick , this is Isabella "
"Isabella as in Royal's friend?"
"Yaa . Just tell me what did he eat for breakfast ? Did he eat something ?"
"No , he skipped breakfast . But why are you asking me this ?"
"Ro passed out and we are at the health center "
"I'll be there ! He didn't even had dinner with us , maybe that's why! "
"Oh , I'll talk to you later" I said and then turned to the doctor
"Doctor , Royal hasn't eaten anything since last night "
"That explains his condition right now . His blood sugar level is low "
"Is that serious ?"
I suck at my medical knowledge!!
"Once he wakes up , we'll give him fruits and juices for rehydration and to increase sugar level . Also , if necessary , I'll give him IV Fluid "
"When will he gain consciousness ?"
"Can't say exactly .In a few minutes I suppose . "
I nod .
"Till then let me tend to him .
Also , he needs complete rest for a few days . Tell him to eat healthy foods , alright ?"
I nod and sit beside him .
I take his hand in mine while rubbing the back of it .
"Idiot !" I mumble
"You are not gonna swim or strain yourself , understand ?" I ask him ,but he doesn't acknowledge it .
I end up biting my lip !
I dont even need a lip stick , my habit gets my lip redder .
"ROYAL ?" I hear Jessica's voice and I instantly get away from him .
"What happened??" ,
she asks rather loudly so I take her out with me .
"Okay , calm down and listen to me ", I say .
Then I tell her whatever happened and what's going on except
the part where in he confessed that he likes me and replaced the part where in 'I followed him' to
'I was just passing by' when I saw him getting lightheaded .
"Izzy?" I hear someone call ,
someone who's ROYAL!
"You are finally conscious!", The doctor exclaims
I just wanted to run to him and hug him out but instead I took hold of Jess's hand who was almost rushing in and said ,
"One more thing , tell Ro , it was you who bought him here and you know what ? He even said he likes you "
"Likes ? Not loves " she sighs
"Maybe cause he was half-conscious " I tried to reason out
"But why?"
"Please , for me .You said you owed me , right ?"
"Yaa , okay but " she says
"No buts . Go inside , take care of him and just as I told , give him nutritious food .
You were saying something along the line that you both are drifting apart , so this will surely help you guys to get closer "
"Okay .What if he asks about you?"
"Tell him that I.. I .. um .."
My phone buzzes and Marv's name flashes on the screen .
"Tell him that I am out with Marvin "
"Oh okay "
"Thanks" she says
"Anytime " I reply
And she goes inside .
"Jess " I hear him say
"How are you babe?" she asks him
"A bit tired . Where's Isabella?"
"Isabella?" Fred asks me out of nowhere
"Fred , Royal and Isabella's inside and just go along with whatever Jess says "
"Okay?" He asks confused and heads inside .
"Jess I'm asking you something?" Royal repeats
She looks in my direction and I nod .
I hide myself when Ro looks in the same direction as her .
Luckily , they both see Fred instead .
"Hi Man"
"Hey bro" Ro replies and tries to sit up
"How you holding up?"
"Good I suppose " he says faintly
"Who told you to skip your meals and work out !"
"Competition " he replies and I can tell that he's lying .
"Dude ! You are taking that stupid competition seriously ?!"
"Excuse me! That competition is not stupid "
"Okay ma'am . Not stupid , happy ?" Fred retorts and she smiles .
"Jessica ?" Ro looks at her questioningly
"Isabella is hanging out with Marvin " she says and Fred instantly looks outside , specifically at me and
I signal him to please stay quiet .
"What ? But she was just here , right ?" Ro asks
"When ? No , she wasn't "
"Then who bought me here ?"
"I carried you here Roy and you even said you liked me "
"I did?" he asked
"Maybe you were half conscious that's why you don't remember clearly "
"But " he mumbles
"Now don't stress yourself and drink this orange juice " she says and hands him the glass , which the nurse kept for him along with a few fruits .
"Okay" he replies and sips his juice , while I slide by the door .

I call Day because I need someone to talk like right now ! Otherwise , I'd lose my calm ...
"Why did you do that ?" ,
She asked instantly , but obviously after listening to the whole Ramayan .
" I thought it was the right thing .
I mean their relationship is at the verge of breaking up and Jessica loves him "
"What about you ? "
" What about me ? "
" How do you feel about him ? "
" He's my best friend "
" And ? "
" And nothing I suppose "
" How long are you gonna keep lying to yourself Bell ?! "
"So you are telling me that I like
him ? "
" If what you feel isn't that , then I don't know what is"
Okay fine!

I confessed it out aloud for the very first time that it made me cry even harder.
" Finally ! Then what's the problem ? "
" You are asking me this ? As if you don't know how much we argue , how much we fight and .."

" Please ! It's already hard for me . What about Jessica ? What about Marvin ? What about our friendship ?"

"Him? He liked her enough to be in a relationship in the first place ,
his feelings will start growing again for her .
She's everything he deserves .
She's beautiful and she loves him .
I don't even know if what I am feeling is love or not .
And besides I kissed Marv the other day , won't it be unfair towards both of them ! "
" Then tell Marv the f**king truth !"
" I will . In fact I'll call him right now and clear things ! "
Saying that , I thanked her for everything and dialled Marvin's number !

"Finally you called!" he exclaims
"Marv I wanted to tell you

"Okay but let me go first "

"Tomorrow evening you and me are going to the theatre .
I have already bought two tickets for Gravity . We are going to have so much fun Bella "

"If Ro asks you about me , just tell him that we were hanging out today "
" Okay but why?"
"He's actually kinda sick and I can't make it to his place so"

"Bye . Btw It's a date! " he says excitedly and hangs up .

How could I , he was so excited !
He planned things for me , how could I tell him that I don't like him !

I ended up sobbing .
I don't know if they were sad tears because of the fear of what will happen next and how is Ro right now
andhow I just couldn't tell Ro that I freaking feel the same way about him or happy tears that finally my mind realised what my heart felt all along !
I called Jessica next ,
"Hi Bella"
"You are with Ro , right now ?"
"Yes , but don't worry . He's at my place , sleeping already "
"Oh okay then . How is he ?"
"Better . He ate whatever the doctor asked him to and she was about to disclose your name but I stopped her "
"Oh good "
"Let him rest and thanks for taking care of him " I say .
" Why will I not ? I am his girlfriend after all "
"Yes , lucky you "
" By the way , when are you going to visit him ?"
" Tomorrow "
" Jessica " I hear Royal's voice
" Hold on Bella . He's awake " she says
" Yes babe?"
" Water " I hear his voice
" Just a second "
Either she forgot to hang up or hold the call as I can hear their conversation .
" Here you go "
" Thanks " he says
" Who are you talking to?"
" Bella "
" What's she saying ?"
" She'll come to meet you tomorrow "
" Is she still on the line ?"
" Wait , let me check . Bella, you there ?"
" Yaa" I reply
" Yes she is . You wanna talk to her ?"
" Yaa " Royal replies
" Royal "
" Isabella "

" Okay "
" Okay" I say and bit my lip hard .
I wanted to shout at him for his reckless behavior, but now is not the right time.
I wanted to shout out my feelings,
but again now is not the fudging right time!
" So when are you coming here ?"
" Tomorrow, after school "
" Right . Why will you miss school or miss the chance of meeting your Marvin for your bestfriend!" ,
he taunts
I didn't say anything to that .
" By the way, how was your special date considering the fact that you just ignored the well being of your bestfriend ?"
"Royal don't say like that " Jessica tells him
He hates me !
"Ro you are not well right now , you need rest "
"I was sleeping only "
"Now go back to sleep . Don't stress and don't overthink . Jessica's with you"
"Yes , she is "
"Get well soon"
"Thanks"
"Take rest for a few days until you are fine again and do not skip your meals "
"Jessica and doctor , both already told me the same "
"Yaa "
"I'll talk to you later , go to sleep Ro "
"Good night Izzy"
He hangs up and I say ,
"I miss you Ro" .
I called Riley and told her about Ro .
She called her brother instantly and had a small talk until he fell asleep while talking .
Doctor said he needs rest for a few days at least and competition is on the head !
It will be best if he doesn't take part . I mean , his health is more important .
Jessica and my dance routine is already set but we need more practice .
But we'll do it somehow but what about Royal ?
How is he going to cope up ?
How am I going to tell Marv that I don't like him ?
I hope he doesn't get hurt !
So many questions out of the syllabus and so many answers out of my mind !
