Summary; after getting hurt really bad one night, Peter decides to shut out the reader to keep them safe. The reader notices and decides to back away too. After a while, the reader becomes confident and Peter tries to be friends again after he realizes his mistake. The reader let's him back in and goes to (the reader's) old ways. And then they live to be bestfriends forever

You walk through the school doors with your head held high. Break was over, and you were finally back in school, the past three weeks were hell, but now, you were ready to show everyone that you grew confident in just a short amount of time
That you wouldnt need people who just ghost you and throw you in the trash. You wanted to show people that you dont need them, speacially a specific person
Nevertheless, you still had one friend that you love dearly, Michelle. She can be a bitch sometimes, but she just keep things real, and that's what you like.
You smile, seeing Michelle leaning against your locker. You walk towards her and opened your locker, "how was break?" you ask
Michelle smirked, "boring, but i should be asking you, i sense a different aura in you"
You bit your lip, remembering the past three weeks, "i guess i just became more confident." you shrug, making Michelle raise an eyebrow in suspicion, but letting it go.
Suddenly, your eyes landed behind Michelle, it sucked that the person you were avoiding had his locker near yours. He was his friend, Ned, probably talking about something nerdy.
You scoffed, making Michelle look behind her and roll her eyes. She looked back at you, "i see. So he's the reason you're all this now, huh?"
"i'm not changing for anybody, Michelle. This is for my own good." you say, closing your locker and wearing your backpack, "let's not talk about this topic, i want to know about your "boring" winter break" you laugh, clinging your arms around hers and leading her towards your classroom.
She rolled her eyes, knowing that you just wanted to change the topic, but since she's a lovely friend, she talked about how she read a new book each day.
When the both of you turned around to walk away, Peter glanced up at the two of you and sighed.
"Peter, are you even listening to me?"
Peter looked at Ned, "what?"
Ned shook his head, "i said, did you see Y/N? She looked really pretty with the new aura" he said, smiling
Peter closed his locker, leaning agaisnt it, "yes, Ned, i saw her." he said sadly
"then why the long face?" Ned asked
"Because" Peter started, "i ended my connections with her." he ran a hand through his hair
Ned's eyes widen, "why would you do that, Peter?"
"i-" he sighed, lowering his voice so no one could hear but Ned, "the week before break, this robber beat me up real bad, i hardly got away. My senses didnt work, and he stabbed me in the gutt, making me weak, said if i continue messing with their business, he's not only hurt me, but everyone close to me."
"oh" Ned said
Peter nodded, "and i dont want anyone to get hurt because of me. If Y/N knew who i was, she'd get hurt, it was better to keep her out of harm's way. She's my friend, i wouldn't even want her to get bitten by a mosquito."
Ned then thought, with a raised eyebrow, he said, "i'm yoyr friend, and i know. Arent you worried of me?"
"uuuhhh-" Peter didnt get the chance to finish, cause Ned gasped
"i know why!" he said, and smiled teasingly, "she's a special friend! You like herrrr!"
Peter furrowed his eyebrows, but was red as a tomato, "Ned, stop-"
"you're not denying! You do like her!"
Peter rolled his eyes, "does it even matter anymore?"
Ned stopped, and sighed, patting Peter's shoulder, "you need to fix this, man. You need to get her back"
"we werent even together-"
"but you wished you were!" Ned said, jabbing a finger to Peter's chest, "you will get her back, you will apologize and not be a scaredy cat! Understand? You're Spider-man for Thor's sake! A robber is just an ant!"
Peter held his hands up in surrender, "dude, chill." he said, then chuckled, "but dont just "just" and ant. Ant-man became a giant when we were in Germany"
"whatever, what i'm saying is, dont let that robber scare you, he's a bad guy, and where do bad guys go? They go to jail. You wont even realize that he's already out of your life." said Ned
Peter smiled, "thanks, Ned. Maybe i'll follow your advice."
Ned nodded, then bell rang, "let's go then, lover boy"

"Peter! Wait up!" you shouted
Peter froze when he heard your voice. The night before was awful for him, and the robber's words were stuck in his mind, he hated it. He hated the idea of you getting hurt, he didnt want that.
You walk towards him, smiling fron ear ti ear. As you were supposed to say something, Peter said, "I need to go, Y/N", then he walked.
Your eyebrows furrowed, he tried to hide it, but you noticed he was limping. You just sighed and walked away
The next few days, he avoided you, making you confused, angry, and hurt. If he didnt want to be friends, he should've just said so.
You thought, "you know what, fine. I dont need friends who shut me out with no explanations." so you backed away, that's what he wanted anyways, right?
Eyes opening slowly, the sun hit your face. You sigh. You missed him, liked him, even. But what can you do? He didnt even want to be friends, what more if lovers?
You sat up, rubbing your face. It was the second week of back to school, and you still didnt want to go, but you had to
So you got ready and ate breakfast, and walked to school. Normal things

On your way to school, you felt something, or someone, following you. You looked behind you, there was no one. You shook it off, thinking it was just you being paranoid cause you drank coffee.

Suddenly, a man pulled you into an alleyways, making your eyes widen. He pinned you to the wall, you raise your hand, "please dont hurt me!"
You heard him scoff behind the towel wrapped around his face, "i wont hurt you unless you give me all your belongings" he said
You whimper, giving him your bag, but before he could even touch it, he was suddenly down on the ground, passed out. Your eyes widen, you look up, the famous hero of Queen's just saved you. The white eyes of his mask widen, like he was shocked to see you
"th-thank you" you said
He nodded, then hesitated if he should go or not. You cleared your throat and started to walk
"wait!"
You stopped and turned around, "yeah?"
He fiddled with his hand, "uh, i need to tell you something"
"i'm sorry?" you said, confused
"but it isnt safe here." he said walking to you
Your eyebrows furrowed when he put an arm around your waist, "what are you- oh my god!" you exclaimed when he put an arm up and pulled you with him up the building. Once your feet were flat on the floor, you ket go of him, hugging yourself, "Why would you do that!"
He laughed awkwardly, "sorry." he mumbled, then fiddled with his hands again
You put your hands on your hips, "what is it you needed to tell me, spider-man? Cause i'm gonna be late for school-"
"i'm sorry!" he exclaimed making you furrow your eyebrows
"for what?" you asked
He sigh, "i'm sorry for shutting you out. I'm sorry i got scared, i'm sorry i didnt tell you. I'm just sorry." then he reached up to his mask, removing it
Your eyes widen when you saw a familiar face. Brown curly hair, brown beautiful eyes.
"Peter?" you asked in disbelief
He nodded, couldnt even look at you in the eye, "yeah, it's me." he said
You scoffed, "this is why you just started to ignore me? Because you were scared i might blow up your identity or something?!" you asked, furious
His eyes widen, "no! No, that's not it, i know you wouldnt." he said, "i just got scared."
"of what?!"
He closed his eyes, "of you getting hurt because of me! I'm not exactly the safest person, Y/N. Just by knowing me, your life is on the line!"
You scoffed, walking towards him, "i can't believe you."
"i can't either" he shrugged
"you are such a scaredy cat!" you exclaimed, hitting his arm
Peter furrowed his eyebrows, "i-"
"that's so stupid! And, and cliche! Jesus, Peter! Why push me away when you can protect me? Maybe not always, but where's the fun in that?" you said, looking into his eyes
"i know, i'm sorry." he said
You bit your lip when silence filled the air, you sigh, "remember when i called out to you that day?"
Peter nodded, "yeah?"
"i was suppose to tell you something important." you forcefully smiled
His eyes widen, then his face fell, "i'm really sorry-"
"i was suppose to tell you that i liked you."
He froze, thoughts ran in his mind, how he messed up big time
"i- really?"
You nodded, checking your watch to cover your embarrassment, "oh, wont you look at the time! I better go-"
You never get to finish because Peter shot his web at you and pulled you to him, holding you by the waist and crashing his lips onto yours. Your eyes widen, but you melt into the kiss, putting your arms around his neck and kissing back
The both of you pull away, he leaned his forehead against yours, "i like you too, i hope i'm not too late."
You giggle, "nah, you're just in time." then you look at the time, for real this time, "we're really late, Pete"
"you're really thinking about school right now?" he said, laughing
"well, what are you suggesting?" you grin
He just gave you a smirk and leaned in, crashing his lips on yours once again
At this point, you honestly dont care about school anymore, screw them.
