The soldier who switched to secondary arms and equipped themselves with shields hardened themselves and made a wall for their brothers to rest with. The injured were properly patched and the captain shot a white flare, meaning: For the other side to cease fire. The Assaults' team were able to cease the gun fire from the other team.
They formed a rectangular formation with the shields upfront to confront the gunners. Walking at their pace, the fire fighters didn't stop there and continued to follow them at their rear while extinguishing some houses that were caught on fire.
As the situation were all good, they picked up their paces and doubled their speed. Until, they noticed the firefighters were gone.......
The fire truck was there but the fire fighter operating driving it was gone, and that includes the other 2 fire fighters who was at the ground.
"Captain!"
"They're gone"
"In the blink of an eye, they vanished"
"No I don't think they were taken"
"I believe they were charmed by the enemy's array" (a voice stood up)

The shields were not enough to cover the whole damn fire truck so they separated themselves into 3 man shield. Where 3 shield holders cover a team, and the team cover the investigation process.
Assault_ "Make it quick"

Some soldiers wanted to face the shooters themselves for they will pass judgement but they do not have the power nor influence to pass punishment.
Assault_ "I'm going alone, let me sole this one real quick"

He turn back to his soldiers and face the direction of the shooters and grit his teeth as hard as he could.
"Sir! At least take a shield with you"

The gate's destruction looks much over the top than average.

"We found carriages lying around the forest in front"

Sian_"Did you made a move yet?"
"I have sent multiple teams in the forest but we couldn't make it that far"
"I believe they're in there but they're not prepared for a guerrilla warfare out in the forest"
Sian_ "Have them on lookout, I'll personally hunt them down"

For some reason the citizens of Elkia began to cry in agony, some were disgusted that they threw up, and some began to burst in anger. Emotions bursts from every human people, but that didn't stop there. A beast kin citizen burst in sadness that it let out a crying howl. Moment later an lizard kin from Sian's team crawl like a real lizard from the ground and began hunting other soldiers in sight. Sian knew that this isn't something to take lightly.
Sian_"Mental disorders?"
"No, it can't be scientifically explain."

"Everyone put on your masks, this is the enemy's doing!"
Other soldiers from the surrounding were immediately handed gas masks from the reinforcement. Luckily, the reinforcement's trucks has a load of gas masks knowing that there will be fire in the kingdom, assuming from all the smokes visible from the base. Gas masks saved the others from the magic, but that didn't include the others from their misfortune. A little late a man was about to jump to a blazing house but Sian shot his leg before he can finish his life.
Sian_ "Extreme depression?"
From the looks of it, the man was in distress but after he was shot in the leg, he looked the general with intense hatred. His blood lust was coming off that it scared the others. Despite the shot it took, it stood up and ran to the general with a big stick that he picked at the ground.
Sian_ "Trust me, even if you wan't to die that badly, you'd have to suffer intense pain in that scorching fire"
Before he was able to get close enough to the general, the man was pushed back the distant from a soldier who was equipped with a shield. Then he was finished off....
Joke....he was just quickly apprehended by two soldiers and gave it a spare of gas mask. But....It the magic-disease didn't stop there, even with the mask he was not cured at all.
Sian_ "Hehe, Of course I know that it won't cure at all" :>

Only a dozen of infected from the weird magic infection. It didn't spread that much from the general quick thinking. The infected were handcuffs both hands and feet.

Meanwhile, the Captain of the Assault, ran straight to his troops left, crashing every obstacle that was on his way. We now see the power that was thought to him from the general and which that made him a Captain. Jumping every scorching fire in front of him, smashing walls made of wood, despite being hurt from the obstacle, he isn't slowing down, instead he is even more faster and fiercer from his frontal assault.
The team, Gunner noticed couple of crashes at the right side of their team. So he ordered the shield to be on front. At their rear long guns were aimed at the crashing houses.
And at last they finally met. Not on a good way. The Assault was able to flew soldiers who was on front of the shield. They were able notice the uniform but one soldier accidentally shot his chest. Because of the vest the bullet's penetration on leave a bruise.
Gunner_ "My bad, my bad, my bad"
"Hey I'm very sorry!"
At first, they couldn't recognized the soldier in front of them but they recognized the hat of a captain he's wearing, a little too late. For some reason, Assault's whole body became black as his armor and his uniform, and that includes his face. A little too late....
"Sir, I believe that's the Captain of the Assault"

I a blink of an eye Assault was in front of Gunner.

Gunner couldn't see his movement at all. Despite they have the same title, that was a gap to his skills. His personality change and Gunner faced Assault in a serious face, and asked.

The Gunner was really tall and bulky while Assault was that sized of a normal soldier but he's arms were long enough to grab his neck and choke him.

Holding his breath and held his own. He asked again.

His nerves were popping out of his neck.
