A week after the rescue
Varians pov
My eyes flutter open as a blinding white light spilled into my vision. I winced and tried to bring my hands up to my face. Being unable to I opened my eyes slowly and there were pins in my hands and I started hyperventilating. Monitors began beeping which only heightened my fear and a door opened and a soft voice says "Hey deep breaths kid breath calm down... deep breaths okay....deep breaths" Is was the same voice from before and my eyes looked up and I was met with the pale face framed with dark hair. The olive green color of her eyes spoke softly to me with words of calm and safety. The beeping of the heart monitor slowed to an average pace and the mild trembling in my limbs slowed to an occasional twitch. She dragged a chair over to the side of the bed and moved into it and speaking with a soft tone says "Hello I'm Detective Espinosa, but you can call me Cas it's nice to meet you" I stared at her with intrigue. Why was she being so kind? She must want something from me no ones been this kind without wanting something from me. She gives me a kind smile
"What's your name?" Was she working with my father is she gonna torture me did she put these pins in my hands.
"Hey kid it's okay I'm not gonna hurt you just want to ask a few questions okay?" I nod hesitantly, still worried about if she works for my dad.
"Okay so first off what's your name?"
"V-varian" My voice comes out in a raspy choked way.
"Varian, okay Varian how long has your father been abusing you?"
That set off many memories of the first time he did so when he hit me over the head with a bottle and then profusely apologized. Promising me it would never happen again. Things didn't turn out that way.
"I... I don't know..it started about a month after my mom died... after that I don't know how long it was" My voice trembled as the memories started flooding in before I could close the gates.
"I know this is hard Varian, but in order to put your father in jail the appropriate time I need these questions answered now... has he ever touched you in a sexual way?"
I shake my head not knowing what that was entirely but used my basic knowledge of society and he never had.
"Okay I think that will be good for now, I'll come back in here tomorrow, I'll introduce you to doctor coronal she's a good woman okay"
I nod my head shifting uncomfortably. Cas opened the door and a slim tall brunette woman stepped in and she smiled at me and said "Hello Varian, I'm doctor coronal but you can call me willow, I'm the doctor that will be observing your care. I'll tell you a bit of what we're going to be doing..." I stopped listening and started to drift back to sleep its arms pulling me back to the void of black.
