(3rd Person)

They started in the parts of the town that they suspected the villains to be at, so in other words the downtown areas that seemed the most unfriendly... as well as the dirtiest. Mark and (Y/N) searched through every window that bared no light, every door that was concealed and mostly the places where they could hide an army, such as the warehouses or the storage areas.

Mark: Right... it's obvious we're not getting anything, split up? I'll go on the West side, you go the East side.

With a nod, he separated from his best friend, though they kept their phones on and unlocked in case they found something and need the other's help. Quickly, (Y/N) went to another window with no light pouring out of it, pressing himself against the glass and glaring inside but growled as he saw nothing. He then ran to the nearest warehouse, punching the wall off uncaringly and marching inside, only to march back out when he saw no sign of Eri or Karma.

As he marched out the warehouse, (Y/N) was surprised when he heard a door slam shut, almost as though someone was spying on him. He pinpointed it to a door that was outside the warehouse he was just in, he ripped the door off its hinges, revealing nothing but an empty hallway... he growled again, and turned... only to see a note on the floor right outside the door which made him bend down to pick up the piece of paper. Unfolding the note, (Y/N) read the letter with a confused look.

"You don't know me, but I know everything about you (Y/N) (L/N). Don't ask who I am, just know I'm a friend to both you and Eri, and I wish to help... I cannot say too much in fear of my life... however, I can say that Eri is closer than you think... you must return to where it all started... return home... your true home"

He couldn't help but blink in confusion, the place where it all started? That seemed too vague to conjure a proper answer, it could've meant anything. He began thinking of possibilities... locations where important events of his life began... U.A, where his student life began... no, not even Karma would be crazy enough to try hiding Eri there. His home, where his life began, again not possible.... Karma doesn't know him well enough... The scarf-wearer sighed, placing a hand on his head as he began to develop a headache... which got worse as he heard the sound of his phone going off, to quickly cease the headache he answered the phone.

???: Hello Hero...

Everything went silent, (Y/N)'s anger was quickly returning as he heard Karma on the other side of the phone, her voice smug and confident.

Karma: Oh, don't worry about little Eri, she's in safe hands with us... though, you should be careful of her, she's become very aggressive what have you been teaching her? She might pick up curse words next!

Of course, (Y/N) didn't listen as he began storming down the streets while listening to Karma.

Karma: I'm just calling you to say that you should stop while you can, we have the little Eri and you'll never find us... oh, and even if you somehow manage to do so... just know I've got orders from the Boss to kill you... and you and I both know I shouldn't kill you, doesn't mean I won't though, the Boss is scary!! Oh! Oh! The Boss is here as well!! That means even if you got past me, he's still going to kill you!! So... if you want to become part of my plan like I said before, I'm giving you this chance to walk away and let Eri be ours... of course, I won't force you since I win either way, either I get Eri or I get Eri and your corpse!!

(Y/N) instantly hung up, frustrated at her words and the fact that the phone call did nothing to help him find Eri. He kicked a lone can on the floor in frustration before placing a hand on the wall, trying to calm himself down... when suddenly another door slammed shut, he looked to his right to see a door leading into what seemed to be an apartment complex. He could tell it was the door that slammed shut due to the ripples the glass had from the force of the slam, without hesitation, he ran over, knocking the door down and looking around the room... only spotting yet another empty hallway that led to a set of stairs... as he went to leave... (Y/N) remembered the last time this happened and stared at the ground outside the door... sure enough, the very same note in the exact same position. He snatched the note, reading the second note eagerly.

"You're thinking too hard, when you think of where everything starts... you can only think of one start. The start, the one that began everything, and when I say everything... I mean everything"

Instantly, (Y/N) sighed at seeing the note. He looked up, thinking of those times... while they were good times, there were moments where he would rather not go back to that location... so, with another sigh, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and texted Mark the location before running off quietly enough so that he didn't wake anyone... as much as he wanted to be quick, he didn't want to risk being found out and unable to help Eri.

(Timeskip)

The boy sighed in nervousness, looking up at the structure where everything started... the orphanage. (Y/N) gripped the note he had in his hand tightly, while he wondered who was responsible for helping him... his mind was focused on rescuing Eri currently as he began walking up to the entrance, gulping slightly as he was about to enter.

???: Wait up!

When suddenly, (Y/N) had to grip the sides of the doorway when Mark decided to make himself known, smiling slightly while placing a hand on his shoulder.

Mark: I told you, there's no way I'm letting you do this by yourself... by the way, how did you know it was this place?

His answer came in the form of the two notes, Mark raised an eyebrow, grabbing and reading the handwriting with a confused look.

Mark: They don't look like anyone I know's handwriting.

(Y/N) nodded in agreement, heading straight inside the orphanage with Mark following behind and instantly came across the hall filled with drawings and paint marks in the shape of hands, though the dark night made it look more like a wall of hands rather than a wall of paint made from children.

???: Hello?

The two turned, seeing a young woman at the desk to the front entrance, she had short brown hair with a pair of yellow-slitted eyes which most likely gives away her quirk instantly. Mark sighed, placing a hand on (Y/N)'s shoulder.

Mark: Bit of a walk down memory lane, this guy right here used to live in this orphanage... so he thought he'd like to visit again just for old time's sake.

Owner: Ah, I see... well... it's quite late for a visit though, it's almost midnight...

Mark: What better time to visit and not bother the children?

Owner: Yes, yes, I suppose that is right. Well... I can only allow a few minutes, do you... remember what room you had?

(Y/N) frowned, remembering something as he grabbed one of the notes he received about Eri and flipped it over... a number was on the back: 23.

Mark: Ok... a bit creepy that this note person knows you come from an orphanage... even creepier they somehow knew which room you stayed in... are you sure you're not a victim of some stalker? Like a Yandere?

All Mark got was a deadpan look, he only chuckled as the owner furrowed her eyebrows in confusion before spotting the number on the note, she turned around and saw the keys on the wall marked with numbers... the two followed her gaze to the keys and to their relief saw the key to room 23 was still there... in fact it was the only key there, which instantly caused the two boys to frown.

Mark: A trap?

(Y/N) nodded, just as the woman brought the key over, a sweet smile on her face.

Owner: Enjoy your trip down memory lane dear, just remember to be quiet and not disturb the children.

Nodding in understanding, the two headed off down the hall and then straight up the stairs... as soon as they were out of sight, the owner turned back towards the wall, sighing as her smile disappeared, turning into a frown.

Owner: Fucking kids...

(With (Y/N))

They quietly snuck through the hall, passing by numbered rooms as Mark frowned at the dirt covering the walls and doors, not to mention the fizzing bulb that was hanging from the ceiling, barely lighting the hallway up.

Mark: Not exactly the best place for kids... you had to live here? Huh... well, luckily you were adopted quickly right?

(Y/N) didn't respond as they passed room 17, Mark couldn't help but feel concerned for his best friend... it was most likely the combination of losing Eri and being back in one of the places he didn't wish to be in. As they passed room 20, Mark placed a hand on his friend's shoulder, stopping him in his tracks.

Mark: Look... I know that you're probably not feeling the best being back here... and that Eri's gone, but can you please not act like this? You're quiet yes, but not this quiet... you at least give me a thumbs-up or a middle finger to answer at least... So please, can you calm down? I promise you that I'll do everything I can to get Eri back, but you need to calm down, and think with your brain and not your fists... did you forget Karma's quirk? It's basically her way of adding pain onto us or even Eri, and then... you told me her boss is with her, no doubt his quirk is even more powerful, as strong as we are... there are people stronger than us. So just be careful, and smart... ok?

(Y/N) nodded, turning back and giving Mark a brief reassuring smile... finally, they came to room 23 and to (Y/N)'s surprise but at the same time expectations, there was a note lodged in the door at the bottom, he scoffed, leaning down to grab it with Mark looking on in wonder at what the note could possibly contain. (Y/N) opened the note and read the contents.

"This is the final time I can help... unless the situation becomes dire, I will never contact you again after this... inside the room where everything began, you will find only more questions... but, among the questions, you will find the one answer you've been searching for."

Another scoff left (Y/N)'s mouth as he tossed it over to Mark who read over it, distracted while (Y/N) slowly opened the door into the very first bedroom he owned. The walls were almost torn down, the wallpaper tearing at multiple locations, the window shattered with the cold breeze of the outside easily intrude upon the room. Mark frowned again at seeing the state of the room.

Mark: If this is where you were supposed to be sleep, I'd hate to see what the basement looks like... wait, don't tell me we're actually in the basement?

All Mark got was a smack on the head courtesy of (Y/N)'s hand, he purposely increased the strength as well, causing Mark's face to slam into the floor with a resounding thump being heard from downstairs. The owner simply grumbled, filing her nails and cursing the two she just let in for already making noise.

Mark: Ow... not needed.

(Y/N) shrugged, now inspecting the room with a sigh as he traced the cracked wooden desk.

Mark: So... what exactly are we looking for in here? Were you just hoping the answer would be in the room the second we...

As Mark stopped talking, (Y/N) waited for him to finish, but had no luck which caused him to finally turn and answer... but Mark was nowhere to be found. Instantly, (Y/N) was on guard from any possible threats that were in the room, searching for the smallest sign of a hostile... as he stepped to his left, (Y/N) felt like he had stepped on something. He looked over, lifting his foot off to see a small device with a massive red button on top of it. Before he could say anything, the device began to glow purple, reaching out grabbing (Y/N) and sealing him inside...

To be continued...

(A/N): Well... I can confirm with you guys and gals that the next chapter is the final one.
