Ryder's POV
She looked hot...
I know I shouldn't be saying that about her because I know it's just gonna make me want her even more but I can't have her. But she did look hot
She has a new look and a new attitude it sparks my interest in her more because she is standing up for herself and not taking anyone's shit. Major improvements when I first met her she was too scared to even look someone in the eyes for more than 2 seconds
As we got into our limo.. Honesty put on some music. Ashley was honestly just getting on my nerves all she is talking about is getting in my pants tonight and even though I really need this stress reliever... she is just a turn off.
"Can you please shut up" I practically growl at her
"Fine" she huffs crossing her arms like a baby
I roll my eyes and turn back to everyone. Lyrical is recording a video on Snapchat of everyone taking shots I grabs shot glass and take it. Riley grabs me as we all just move around and party to the music playing as she still records us but this time on Instagram.
She has gained quite a few followers since we all almost have a thousand followers each they follow her too. I sit back down just vibing surprisingly Ashley was being chill too.
We got out the limo and I told him to be back by 11:30pm. We walked in of course thy took pictures of us as a group and with our dates. We found a table and sat down.
I went and grabbed her something to drink and got me a sandwich that they were serving. It looked so fancy I was almost scared to eat it.
Ashley gasps tapping my arm viciously I grab her hand stopping her "what!" I say annoyed
"I see one of my friends I'm gonna go dance with her okay?" She says basically jumping out of her seat
"Bye" I wave still eating my sand which which is really good
After I am done I sit there for about 30 minutes bored out of my life. Ashley hasn't came back yet she is still with one of her friends. I decide to go Rome the school. I follow wherever my feet will take me which lead to the music room.
I opened the door which was surprisingly unlocked. I walked in closing it quietly behind me. I sat down on the piano stool and opened it. My hands grazed across the keys. I haven't played in so long.
This was actually one of the things that calmed me as a kid.
~~ FLASH BACK 3rd GRADE~~
"I really do think you guys should get him into a musics school he is really talented and I see a future for him" my teacher argued to my parents
"No son of mine will be playing a piano" my dad rolled his eyes
"And why not what is so wrong with it if Ryder keeps playing he could be accepted into Juilliard!" She says with hope
"My son is 7 years old he can't be that good" He scoffed crossing his arms
"Ryder play something for your Father please" She says stepping aside the piano
I happy walked over and began playing i didn't have anything specific to play I just liked the sounds coming out I didn't understand why my daddy was being so mean to her piano makes me happy
After I was done she clapped happily but my dad took my hand and pulled me beside him "no boy plays piano I will have Ryder out of your class in no time" he gives me my backpack and takes me out the school

He said that I should do something more boy like... but even when I did it wasn't good enough for him and my Mother just goes along with what he says...
I started playing 'See You Again" by Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa. I don't know why but that song just came to mind.
After the sing ended I closed the top and walked out the room and back to the table. As soon as I sat down Ashley came up to me.
"Ryder babes come dance with me" she whined sticking out her bottom lip. I cringed at the sight and went anyways. It was sort of crowded but I didn't care.
I just needed to let loose an stop being so tense. I dance for so long my feet hurt which means I know all the girls who are wearing heels feet are probably killing them.
I went to go get us some punch. Well me some punch she was still out there dancing. I took one sip and already knew someone had spiked it. Yet I still drank it.
Lyrical care and sat down across from me she was drinking a water. You could tell she was tired from dancing but still wanted to.
"Jeez these heels are killing me" she mutters quietly to herself

"Where's your date" I question not looking at her but at the students around us
"Over there dancing with everyone I never knew prom was this fun" she says a small smile spreading across her face. She looks up at me "where is your date?"
"Over there with her friends dancing like there is no tomorrow" I give a light chuckle
"Can I ask you something" her voice faint yet I somehow still manage to hear her
"Shoot"
"Why don't you like Xander and why doesn't he associate with you?" She looks at me with a questioning look
"Curiosity killed the cat" I say deadpanned
"And satisfaction brought him back" she argues
"Now isn't a good time Lyrical" I look away from her and onto our friends
She sighs "There never is with you Ryder.... anyways are you at least coming to his families dinner or party on Saturday?"
"I'll think about it" I answer back after a moment
No
"Okay well I'm gonna go it's already 8:50pm might as well go dance my life away" she laughs
"Okay oh when you get there tell jousting they have fancy sandwiches he will die for them" I smirk and she walks away to tell him.
I about 30 second later you see him dart over to the sandwiches. He is literally in love with food. Everyone came to sit down at the table. Justin of course got a sandwich for everyone.
"Eat up guys it's free" he says with the biggest smile as if he just won the lottery
"I think you have some competition there Jen" Riley smirks at her
"What? Who?" She out of instinct grabs him hugs him
"Food Jenna...food" honesty says faking a sad face
"Not funny I was actually nervous" she huffs
"Don't worry babe I'm all yours" he says with his mouth full
"Justin close your mouth and swallow your food before speaking don't you remember what I told you" Athens asks
He immediately closed and swallows it before speaking oh yeah "Oh yeah"
Xander laughs "Athens your like the mom of the group aren't you?" He asks

"I guess you can say that yeah" she laughs softly.
"Excuse me ladies and gentlemen can we please quiet down for a second" Me.Johns announces through the microphone "right now people are handing out our top 3 guesses for prom king and Queen check the 2 you want and leave t on a pile at your tables I will be back within 15 minutes to tell you"
"Let's see who is on here Hailey Ashley and Denise for prom queens" Honesty says out loud
"And from Prom King Holden... typical... Carter and Ray" Alex says
"Well... I'm not voting" I say putting the card down
"Me either" Riley says
Same's go around the table as we all put our card down. Ashley then runs up to our table telling us to vote for her.
"All of you better vote for me to be your Prom Queen" Ashley says crossing her arms with a smirk on her face
"Sorry Ashley but none of us are voting it's stupid" Jenna said shrugging her shoulders
"Well of your not gonna vote for me than I will" She says going around the whole table saying her name repeatedly as she marks her name on the card "thank you"
Someone comes and takes the cards putting them into a box. "Ashley is so full of herself" Justin says rolling his eyes
"More like bitchley" Athens says leaning back into her chair.
"It's okay baby you don't have to stoop to her level she is just jealous" Alex says putting his arm around her
"You guys are cute together" Xander says looking at them with... admiration?
"Yeah yeah anyways enough with the pet names I'm cringing over here" I say scoffing
"Shut up bro" Alex laughs eating his sandwich
"Okay ladies and gentlemen I am back and I have your guys King and Queen.... your Prom Queen is... ASHLEY NEWMAN!!" He announces
"Of course" lyrical whispers
They give her the crown and slash along with the mic. Que the fake tears "OMG thank everyone so much for voting for me and I am so sorry for all the other girls who weren't pretty enough to be the queen like me" she says giving the mic back
"What the actual fuck is wrong with her" Riley says with narrowed eyes
Athena shakes her head "She's so fucking full of herself"
"Uh... okay anyways.... NOW fur your Prom King.... HOLDEN RICHARDS!!" He tells again into the mic
They do the same thing to him and hand him the mic. "I would like to thank everyone for voting for me and I would like to thank my haters to the left" he then points to us "haters are my motivators oh and uh Honesty babe You know where to find me or you or you actually any of you girls can get it in with me I wouldn't mind"
He hopes of the stage winking at Honesty Jen Athena and Lyrical he then gives his asshole friends high fives as if she was the coolest person in the world. It just made my blood boil.
"I'm gonna kick his ass" Riley says with so much anger you could basically see steam coming out his ears
"Woah woah woah slow down there if you fight him now you'll get kicked out" Alex says holding him back blocking his path from Richards
"Well then it will be worth it" he says trying to go around him
"Riley" I say causing them to all look at me. I shake my head "not.now"
He lets out a huff muttering stuff under his breathe walking outside. I'm pretty sure he needed to calm down. Honesty followed close behind making sure he is okay.
"Well um those were some beautiful uh speeches anyways now it's time for our annual Prom King and Queen to have their slow down now if you guys an clear the middle of the floor them." Mr.johns says
As everyone started started dancing with their dates the song 'Slow dancing in the Dark' by Joji started playing

I sat down just looking at everyone. Everyone had someone and it made me sorrow. I might seem like a player and all but at one point in life I do actually want someone and I'm pretty sure half of the people in this room have already found that someone.
I glance over to my left and see Xander and Lyrical dancing together they seem really close. I can tell they were talking about something. I decided to look away from them. Not wanting to seem like a stalker or creep.
As I looked towards the door Riley and Honesty were coming back in. He looked a lot more calmer than he was before he left. They also went to the dance floor and started slow dancing with one another.
I looked back over towards Lyrical and Xander and what I saw made me want to Rip his head off yet kiss her and ask her 'why'. His lips were on hers. It wasn't forced she kissed back which means she wanted it.
My eyes were glued onto them for a while until they finally let go for air. I felt a feeling I guess I was Hurt?... I was her first kiss and I guess somewhere inside me I only wanted to be the one she kissed forever.
They smiled at each other. I looked away as quickly as possible as Her eyes locked with mine. I would have felt awkward if I would've just stared back.
I go and get more punch. Needing to feel the alcohol run through my body. People are probably staring at me thinking I'm crazy but they don't know anything about me. The only thing this school knows about me is what I show them
I stop after 2 cups knowing it won't help anything and go sit back down. I stare at the ground for a second basically tuning out everything as I start thinking about them and if they were to get together or something.
If she is happy with him who am I to stop her. Deep down inside she most likely hates me I mean she already moved out of our room because of how I treated her. But I didn't do it for no reason. I'm trying to do what I think is best for her.
She is falling for him and it's happening so fast that I don't know what do or what is happening, but now that I think... maybe there isn't anything that I can do I mean the only reason I have been acting the way I am towards her is because I think she deserves better.
Xander is her better as much as I hate to admit it... but Yk what they say... if you love someone let them go... right?

A/n: hey guys well there goes chapter 29 I hope you guys like it. This chapter is shorter than the rest of them since I had to cut it in half or it would've been too long.
I have been wanting to ask you guys would you like me to post on certain days like Monday's and Friday's or do you guys just not care?
Also I know it's not a big deal but yesterday I had 284 reads and woke and had 343 and I am so thankful for you guys I know it's not that many but it doesn't happen overnight I will get there eventually.
In this chapter I do feel bad for Ryder because he just wants someone of his own but his Demons are chasing him :(
