"so you're telling me that we are locked in this school and there is no way out," I say in summary after 30 minutes of trying to get out.
We managed to find the spare set of janitor keys but the main entrance is electronic and the only way to open it is through using a fob on the other side that we don't have.
"How the hell did this happen," Alex says as we slump down against the lockers in defeat
"We must have spent too long in the locker room and then chatting in the corridor for that the stupid janitor to lock up," I tell everyone
"there's no service, no key to get out, no way of connecting someone for help, so how do we get out of here?" Kelley asks speaking up
"what if we don't?" I say trailing off as I'm thinking of the plan
"I don't see where you're going with this one Avery" Hope asks me.
"We stay in school over the weekend. Think about it, it has everything we need to get through the two days until Monday rolls around and everyone comes back in, our parents aren't going to be worrying about us since they all think that you are at mine anyways" I tell them all confidently
"that sounds crazy Avery," Ali says speaking up
"yeah but it's not all stupid though" Christen replies making everyone look at her in surprise since she's normally the logical one of us all.
"Thanks, I guess?" I say not knowing whether my idea being called stupid is a compliment or not
"so are we seriously doing this right now?" Tobin says to us all
"I think we really are," Ash says back chuckling a little bit
"Let's get this party started!" I say jumping up from the floor and picking Alex up bridle style.
"ahhhh" Alex screams as I run down the school corridors carrying her in my arms.
We reach the end and I let down Alex laughing my head off as the others all follow us too.
"So what's the plan captain," Kelley asks
"Okay so here it is, O'Solo you guys are on getting sleeping supplies like blankets any pillows you can find, cushions from the staff room maybe. Preath you can get the heaters that are dotted around the classrooms I think it's going to get a little chilly during the night. Krashlyn you are on supplies duty, basically, anything to keep us entertained and Alex and I will be on food. Meet in the canteen when you've got everything and we'll go from there" I say giving out everyone's tasks
"aye aye captain" they all reply simultaneously knowing it annoys me
"you do realise you'll be cooking everything," Alex says as we make our way to the school cafeteria
"I know, who cooke every time you stay over" I reply
"that would be you," Alex says laughing slightly
"exactly babe," I say smiling at her.
We walk in silence for a bit, Alex taking my hand in hers before she speaks up
"aren't you a little scared," She says
"to be honest, yeah, I am a little," I tell her honestly
"yeah me too," She says letting out a sigh
"But I know I've got you by my side the entire time plus all of our friends so I'm not as scared," I tell her
"I love you," She says turning to look at me
"I love you too" I reply kissing her on the lips
We get to the canteen and I unlock the doors, flicking on the lights, and heading towards the kitchen to see what I can cook up and ration for the few days to come.
"you heat up all the stoves and I'll start preparing dinner" I tell Alex handing her the keys to switch on all the cookers
The walk-in fridge is pretty stocked up so we've got quite a bit of selection for us all to have. I decide to cook a simple chicken and bacon carbonara for tonight since I haven't had time to prepare any meat and I know the girls will want some pasta after our hard training today.
After me cooking and Alex attempting to help out, we finish the dinner just as the rest of the girls walk in with everything they've collected.
"That smells so good Avery" I hear Tobin says as her stomach rumbles yet again.
"well take a seat everyone and we'll all tuck in," I say grabbing one of the large wheelie trollies the dinner ladies use to carry the good out.
"Bon appetite," I say passing everyone a plate while we all sit on a table
"This is so weird," Ash says looking around the completely empty room.
"I know, it feels too quiet to be our cafeteria," Kelley says as we all soak in how weird this is.
"like we have this whole school to ourselves for 2 days, a school that's meant to have over 1,000 students now only have 8 in it," Hope says stating how crazy it is
"and we have access to every room in here," I say
"This is going to be a crazy few days that's for sure," Christen says as we all hum in agreement and finish of our meals.
Krashlyn is on cleaning up duty while the rest of us set up the sleeping area. We decide that the cafeteria would get too cold so we used the drama studio instead. Somehow Hope and Kelley found some duvets in this room that the kids were using for a play and we assembled together cushions from the staff room sofas into makeshift double beds.
Having gathered some large sheets form the art room as well, we placed them on top and tucked it underneath to keep it all together in the night.
Once the beds where assembled, I had an idea that I would require an Ashlyn Harris and Hope Solo specifically.
"shoot, I forgot to get some stuff from the canteen, Hope and Ash, can you come and help me please?" I say to my two best friends.
"Can you not just do it yourself?" Ashlyn says flopping down on her bed
"Ash, I need your help, please," I say seriously, glaring at her
"Okay, I'm coming," She says getting up with Hope and walking out the drama studio with me
"What did you need our help so badly for?" She asks me as I lead them down the corridor
"I don't actually need to get something from the cafeteria but I do need my best friend's help with something," I say smirking at them
"that look always means we are doing something a little stupid and most likely will get us in trouble, so I'm definitely in," Hope says smirking back and high fiving me.
"count me in too, what are we doing then?" Ash asks smirking with us
"it's not going to be a very good sleepover without any snacks now is it?" I say grinning at them both
"There are no good snacks in the kitchen though, only the vending machi- oh I see where you're going with this" Hope says
"exactly, I can't get into by myself," I say and take a left turn to one of the machines that sit in the corridors.
"Right, how are we going to get into this thing then," Ash says as we come up to it
"We open it up," I say and pull out a screwdriver from my pocket
"where the hell did that come from?" Hope says as I start to undo the bolts
"the drama room has a ton of random stuff in there that's actually really useful, exhibit a," I say
"right I need you two for this bit," I tell them grabbing the side along with them both
"we pull on 3 okay, 1,2,3 pull!" I say and use the strength I have to try and get the glass front off.
It takes a good 10 seconds of using all our strength but it eventually comes off its hinges, revealing sweet heaven.
"go grab a bag from Mr Roberts classroom, he keeps them in the second draw down," I tell Ash
"what stuff are we taking then," Hope says as we stare at the array of snacks in front of us.
"oh we are taking everything," I tell Hope smirking.
When Ash comes back with some bags we completely empty the machine filling up 4 while bags full of crisps, sweets, chocolate and plenty of fizzy drinks.
"where the hell did you get all that stuff!" Christen says as we walk back into the drama room with our bags
"The vending machine" I say and set the bags down in the floor.
"that must have cost you an absolute fortune," Alex says as everyone comes up to see what we brought
"who said we paid for anything," Hope says smirking as the three of us all high five, pretty proud of our accomplishment.
"you broke into the vending machine!" Ali says in disbelief
"what! It's not like there's anyone here to stop us" I say in defence
"well what do we do on Monday when people come back in to find it completely empty," Alex says in response.
"nothing because if I'm remembering correctly, they were the one to lock us in here to begin. Pretty sure we could sue the school for child endangerment." I say back
"that is very true," Kelley says speaking up
"fair enough, this is all the school's fault anyway, the least they can do is supply us with their food" Tobin adds
"fine" Alex says giving up.
"Perfect! Now who wants to watch a movie because I borrowed one from the media room" I say holding up a film
"What did you chose," Alex asks coming with me to set it up
"breakfast club, though it was fitting," I say grinning at her as I put into the computer and turn on the button so the projector screen will come down.
"I love that film too," Alex says wrapping an arm around my neck
"I know, that was my other reasoning behind picking it," I tell her honestly
"you're cute," She says kissing me on the cheek
"I know that too," I say smiling at her
"you weirdo," Alex says laughing at my stupidity
After I've got the film set up and everyone's cuddled up in their beds with each other, I press play and get comfy next to Alex myself.
"even if this is the craziest's experience I've ever had, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now" Alex whispers leaning her head back to look up at me as she leans her back against my chest.
"and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else either babe" I tell her planting a kiss on her forehead as she snuggles further into me looking back at the movie playing.
