Rhodey talked to Secretary Ross and other members of the board through a hologram video call. "Still no word from Vision?" Ross asks.
"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh." Rhodey replies.
"On a stolen Quinjet with six of the world's most wanted criminals."
"You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right, sir?"
"My God, Rhodes. Your talent for bullshit rivals my own."
"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here."
"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel." Ross gets up from the table and walks around to stand closer to Rhodey.
"That's right." Rhodey nods and takes a step forward, folding his arms. "And I'm pretty sure I paid for that."
Ross glances down at Rhodey's legs. He wears an exoskeleton that helps him walk. "You have second thoughts?"
"Not anymore." He states confidently as a door to his left beeps and they look to see Steve, Sam, Nat, Vision and the Maximoff's walk in, Y/n and Sam supporting Vision.
"Mr. Secretary." Steve greets the hologram.
"You got some nerve." Ross says as he moved to stand in front of Steve. "I'll give you that."
"You could use some of that." Nat says.
He ignores her. "The world's on fire. And you think everything's forgiven?"
"I'm not looking for forgiveness." Steve says. "And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight. And if you wanna stand in our way... We'll fight you too."
Ross stares at Steve for a moment before he turns to look at Rhodey. "Arrest them."
Rhodey nods. "All over it." Rhodey makes a gesture with his hand and the video call is over, the holograms disappearing. "That's a court-martial." He looks at Steve for a moment and then smiles. "It's great to see you, Cap."
Steve smiles and the two shake hands. "You too, Rhodey."
Nat smiles and hugs Rhodey and then his gaze goes to the rest of the team. "Wow. You guys... Really look like crap."
"Look like? I feel like crap." Pietro smiles as his sisters chuckle a bit.
"Must've been a rough couple of years."
"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five stars." Sam jokes.
"Uh, I think you look great." Bruce says, hesitantly walking into the room.
Y/n smiles a bit. "Hey, Big Green. Nice to see you again." She says a bit cheerily.
He chuckled and smiles at everyone. "Yeah, I'm back."
"Hi, Bruce." Nat says.
A good five long seconds pass before he responds. "Nat."
More silence follows before a certain f/c haired girl breaks it. "This is awkward." She says quietly but everyone heard making Pietro stifle a laugh and Wanda lightly hit her sisters shoulder with a disapproving look.

They all gather in a roomy living area to discuss what's happening. "So we gotta assume they're coming back, right?" Rhodey asks.
"And they can clearly find us." Wanda adds.
"We need all hands on deck. Where's Clint?" Bruce asks.
"After the whole Accords situation, he and Scott took a deal." Nat responds. "It was too tough on their families. They're on house arrest."
"Who's Scott?"
"Ant Man." Steve says.
"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man?" Rhodey nods. "Okay, look. Thanos has the biggest army in the universe and he is not gonna stop until he... He gets... Vision's Stone."
"Then we have to protect it." Y/n says.
"No, we have to destroy it." Everyone looks at Vision. "I've been giving a good deal of thought to this entity in my head." He lightly touches the Stone before letting his hand drop again. "About it's nature. But also it's composition." He moves to where the triplets are standing to stand in front of Wanda. "I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something very similar to it's own signature, perhaps... It's molecular integrity could fail."
"Yeah, and you with it." Wanda says. "We're not having this conversation."
"Eliminating the Stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't get it."
"That's too high a price."
He shakes his head a bit and puts his hands on the sides of her head. "Only you have the power to pay it." She walks away from him and faces her back to everyone. Pietro follows and Y/n and Vision look at each other for a moment before she averts her gaze and follows her siblings. "Thanos threatens half the universe. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him."
"But it should." Steve says. "We don't trade lives, Vision."
"Captain, 70 years ago, you laid down your life to save how many millions of people? Tell me, why is this any different?" Vision walks closer to Steve.
"Because you might have a choice." Bruce says and they look at him. "Your mind is made up of a complex construct of overlays. Jarvis, Ultron, Tony, me, the Stone. All of them mixed together, all of them learning from one another."
"You're saying Vision isn't just the Stone?" Wanda asks.
"I'm saying that if we take out the Stone there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts."
"Can we do that?" Pietro asks.
"Not me, not here."
"Well, you better find someone and somewhere fast." Rhodey says. "Ross isn't just gonna let you guys have your old rooms back."
After a moment Steve speaks up. "I know somewhere."

A while later that night the triplets are sitting together doing a bit of catch up while they have the chance. Wanda and Pietro sat across from each other in chairs while Y/n sat on the window sill, looking up at the starry sky. She had been quiet for a bit and her siblings noticed.
"You miss him." Wanda says.
Y/n looks over at her with a small sad smile. "Of course." A small frown found its way on her features as she looked back out the window.
"Something else is bothering you. What is it?" Pietro asked.
She sighed before facing them fully. "Something has happened with him. I don't know what, but he's hurting. And I'm too far away and I can't help." She closes her eyes and lightly touches the right one before letting her hand drop.
Wanda gets up from her spot and sits next to her, putting an arm around her. "It will be okay. We'll find him and then you can help him."
Pietro also gets up and sits on the other side of Y/n. "She's right. Everything will be okay in the end as long as we're together." He pulls them into a mini group hug. Y/n smiles at them as she and Wanda put their arms around each other and Pietro.
"Thank you."

The group now sit in the Quinjet as Sam pilots it. The triplets sit together next to Vision as Steve goes to stand behind Sam. "Drop to 2600, heading 0-3-0." He says.
"I hope you're right about this. Or we're gonna land a lot faster than you want to." Sam says as he does what Steve told him. They fly head on towards a hill side in what appears to be pure mountainous terrain but they pass through the hologram unscathed and into the advanced civilization of Wakanda. They land and are greeted by T'challa and his guard. Bruce, Sam, Nat, Steve and Rhodey follow T'challa one way while the triplets and Vision go another.
Vision lays on a table as Shuri scans him with her Kimoyo beads. She turns her hand palm up and holds a hologram of the Stone. "Woah." Bruce says softly.
"The structure is polymorphic." Shuri comments.
"Right, we had to attach each neuron non-sequentially." Bruce said.
"Why didn't you just reprogram the synapses to work collectively?"
Vision looks at Bruce. "Because we didn't think of it." He says unsure.
"I'm sure you did your best."
"Can you do it?" Wanda asks.
"Yes, but there are more than two trillion neurons here. One misalignment could cause a cascade of circuit failures. It will take time, brother." She looks to T'challa.
"How long?" Steve asks.
"As long as you can give me."
Okoye's beads trill and it shows her a hologram of the Earth. "Something's entered the atmosphere."
"Hey, Cap, we got a situation here." Sam says over comms. They watch as a large flaming object hurtles in from space and hits the forcefield around Wakanda.
"God, I love this place." Bucky says.
"Yeah, don't start celebrating yet, guys." Rhodey comments. "We got more incoming outside the dome." More flaming objects rocket towards the Earth and crash into the ground revealing skyscraper sized ships.
"It's too late." Vision says while struggling to sit up. "We need to destroy the Stone now."
"Vision, get your ass back on that table." Nat commands.
"We will hold them off." T'challa says.
"Wanda, as soon as that Stone's out of his head... You blow it to hell." Steve says.
"I will."
"Evacuate the city." T'challa orders. "Engage all defences. And get this man a shield." He points to Steve. The triplets watch as the Wakandan armies stand in front of the barrier, Bruce in the Hulkbuster.
The ships open and thousands of alien creatures, called Outriders, pour out and rush the barrier. The closest ones push themselves into the barrier, many being maimed and killed, few actually making it alive past the barrier. T'challa orders a section of the barrier opened so that they could keep the Outriders from circling the whole place. The two armies rush each other and collide in fierce battle.
"How much longer, Shuri?" T'challa asks.
"I've barely begun, brother."
"You might want to pick up the pace." Shuri goes a bit faster in her work of removing the Stone from Vision. The triplets continue to watch and wait anxiously when Y/n lets out a small gasp.
"What? What's wrong?" Pietro asks.
She furrows her brows. "I-I don't know. What is he doing?" She says in an almost whisper. They continue to watch, as the Outriders start to overpower them, until her hand starts sparking with energy. They all look down and she looks at it confused for a moment but then smiles. She looks back out the window just as the bifrost appears and Stormbreaker is thrown out, cutting through several enemies, and the light fades to show Thor, Rocket and Groot.
The helmet on the Hulkbuster folds back as Bruce laughs excitedly. "You guys are so screwed now!" Lightning surrounds Thor and the sky darkens as he dives towards the enemy.
