Chapter 1: A Problem
There was a knock on my door. I went up to grab it, knowing it was my brother, Justin. Sure enough, it was Justin. I said, "Morning Brother!"
Justin, who was wearing a white shirt with a black jacket with headphones and jeans on, smiled.
"Hey Sis, how are you?" he said.
"I'm fine, I guess, I'm a little hungry though" I answered, knowing that he would probably read my mind.
Justin and I went to the Kadic lunchroom to get some breakfast. Kadic is the school I go to with my brother. I made some pretty good friends there also. Then one day, we all discovered an abandoned factory with a supercomputer inside it of a virtual world named Lyoko. There, we fight to keep the world safe from Xana, an artificial intelligence program threating to destroy our world.
When my brother and I got there, we were surprised that all our friends were there already. Most of the time, Justin and I were first to get there. Ericka Lee and Mellissa Green were already at the table eating breakfast. We got our breakfast and sat down.
"You know, I'm sure glad it's Friday," Ericka said. "I can't wait for the weekends."
I didn't really hear what Ericka said. My mind was on another thing.
Justin knew what I was thinking. When Justin, Franz and I went to Lyoko, Franz made Justin the Core of Lyoko, and me the Guardian of Lyoko. Since Justin was the core, he got special powers. For me, I just was able to move the terrains of Lyoko around me.
"What's wrong sis?" Justin asked.
I sighed. "Well, I don't get it. How come Justin got powers and not me?"
"I have no idea Emma. I guess its because I'm older I guess."
I didn't say a word after that. I finished my breakfast and went straight to Science class.
Chapter 2: The Exclamation
After classes were over and lunch was done, I went straight to my dorm. I laid on my bed trying to figure out the whole powers situation. Justin then barged into my room.
"Hey, I didn't get to talk to you for the last 6 hours of class," Justin said.
I kept my mouth shut. I didn't feel like talking to him because I needed to get to the factory to connect with my father, who was somewhere on Lyoko.
Justin then read my mind and asked me if I was thinking about me having powers. I finally said yes, but I tried to make it look like nothing was wrong. When Justin left my room, I rushed to my computer and typed my father a message saying to meet him on Lyoko for a little talk. Then I rushed to the forest to the sewer lid and ran all the way to the factory. When I got to the lab, I quickly set up the self-virtualization program to send me to the Forest Sector on Lyoko.
When I got there, I raced to the main tower and entered in. I stepped into the middle and floated up to the top to the interface.

When I finally got back to my dorm, I was surprised to see my brother Justin, Ericka, and Mellissa all standing near my laptop.
"Uh, what's going on? Why are you guys in my room?" I finally said.
Justin walked up to me and said, "We were all worried about you. Then we saw you go to Lyoko unexpectactly to the Forest Sector's main tower."
"But I had to know why Dad gave you powers and not me!"
Justin looked over to Ericka and Mellissa, and they both nodded.
"Emma," Mellissa said, "I think Justin has to tell you something that might make sense to you."
Justin took a deep breath and explained. "The truth is, you once had powers, but Dad erased your mind about it because we didn't want you to know about it. The truth is about that, if we both had powers, we would be unstoppable. But Xana took your powers and tried to throw you into the digital sea so you wouldn't exist. Even if you did have powers, Xana would try to make them go haywire."
My mouth dropped the second he was done speaking. My eyes were shocked. The bell then rang stating that it was time for dinner.
Chapter 3: The Tower
After dinner was done, all the students went to their dorms for the night. When I got to mine, I went to my laptop to play some games and to work on programming. During that time, I spotted on there an activated tower in the Desert Sector. Right then, Justin came speeding into my room.
"Emma, Activated tower in the Desert!"
"Yeah I know," I answered.
I got Mellissa while Justin got Ericka, and we rushed off to the factory.
When we got there, we got into the scanners and virtualized to Lyoko.

I landed on the Desert sand. As soon as we all landed, I waved my hand over my heart shaped bracelet, which activated my wings. Mine were blue, while Justin's was green. Since Ericka and Mellissa didn't have wings, they had their own vehicles. Ericka had an overwing, while Mellissa had an overboard.
We were on our way to the tower when Ericka said to Mellissa, "Did you hear? I'm Justin's girlfriend!"
Mellissa tried not to hear her. I could tell by the look on her face that she was jealous of Ericka. Mellissa liked Justin as much as Ericka. I tried not to think of it and kept flying.
"Mellissa! Didn't you hear me? I'm Justin's girlfriend!" Ericka said again.
Mellissa finally gave up and stopped. "How so Ericka?"
I slowed down to hear what they were saying, but by the time I got there, Mellissa and Ericka were wrestling each other and pulling out their weapons.
"Justin, we may have a problem!" I shouted to Justin.
Justin stopped and flew over to me. "What's going on?"
"Ericka and Mellissa are fighting over you," I said. "And I also heard that Ericka is your girlfriend now?"
"Well, yeah, but I thought that Mellissa would be cool with it. I even talked to her about it."
"Well, it doesn't look like she's taking it very well!" I pointed over at Mellissa who was firing arrows at Ericka.
Justin paused for a moment and said, "Emma, how about you go deactivate the tower while I handle Ericka and Mellissa."
I nodded and flew to the tower. I saw a couple hornets up ahead and with ease, I launched a Darkness Field at them. Then I went inside the tower.
The towers on Lyoko are all the same; except some are main towers and some are way towers. Main towers are the main tower in a sector. Way towers can transfer you to other sectors of Lyoko. The one I was entering was a way tower. I walked to the center and it floated me up. When I got to the top, I landed and placed my hand on the interface. It read my name, then it said, "Code Lyoko." Then I knew that the tower was deactivated. But before I left the tower, I also got some data to bug Xana up.
I quickly left the tower and searched for my friends. I could tell where they were by the noise. I was horrified by what I saw. Mellissa got super mad and started firing arrows furiously at Ericka while Justin was trying to protect both Mellissa and Ericka.
"What the heck is going on here?!" I shouted.
"Ericka and Mellissa are really mad at each other, and I can't seem to get them to calm down!" Justin said.
I quickly devirtulized Ericka and Mellissa before things got out of hand.
"I'm sorry Justin, I couldn't stand them fighting." I said. I then devirtulized myself.
Chapter 4: The Surprise
I quickly stepped out of the scanner to get to the lab to see how Ericka and Mellissa were doing. But by the time I got there, it was MAJOR chaos. Ericka was throwing knives at Mellissa and she was using the knives Ericka threw to throw back at her. When Justin saw this, he froze the two of them.
"Ok, I know that you guys are both upset, but the reason Ericka is my girlfriend is because I really liked her. And Mellissa, this doesn't mean I like Ericka more than you, I like you both equal. But for me and Emma, it's more than that because we're siblings. Does this solve your problem?" Justin asked.
They both nodded in agreement. Justin then unfroze them. He then went to the supercomputer and typed in a program.
"What's that for?" I asked.
"Well, it's a special thing that I found in a tower before I came back here. It's actually a program for you, Emma."
"What do you mean?"
"It means that I'll be able to give you powers!" he exclaimed.
I could hardly believe what I heard. I was actually getting powers! "This is the best day EVER!" I exclaimed. I started dancing around the lab like a total weirdo while Mellissa was giving me a weird look.
"Uh, do you need some time alone?" Mellissa asked.
"No, I'm good! I'm just so excited that this is happening!"
We all walked to the elevator after that.
Chapter 5: Powers: A Blessing or Curse
When we all got back to Kadic, I ran over to my dorm to dance in my room. This was really happening! Then all of the sudden, I could hear Ericka's footsteps coming to my room. I quickly went to my computer, went on the Internet, and started playing a game right before Ericka went into my dorm.
"Hey there Emma! I think I left my flash drive in your computer. Can I have it back?" she said.
I looked over my shoulder and saw her green flash drive plugged into my computer. "Yeah, sure," I said as I unplugged the flash drive.
"Great! Thanks!" she said as she walked out of my room. The rest of the night was as usual. Me talking to my friends at dinner time about awesome stuff and talking to Justin more about programming.
The next morning, I noticed something different. When I went to bed last night, I was reading and I put my book on the floor next to my bed. But this morning, my book was across the room! And it was on FIRE! I gasped and ran to Justin's room.
"Justin! My book is on FIRE! How did that happen?!"
Justin smiled a tiny bit and said, "Emma, last night I programmed you powers on Lyoko! But you were asleep, so I used my super smoke to move you and BAM! You have powers now!"
"But one thing though. Why is my book on fire?!"
Justin paused for a long time. Then he ran to my room and saw the fire got bigger. Before I could say a word, Justin used his powers to make water to make the fire go away.
"Well, that worked!" I said with a grin. I totally loved today. When I was walking to lunch with Justin, Ericka sent me a text message of a funny video with pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows. I laughed so hard that all of the sudden, I accidentally made pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows!
"Emma!" Justin exclaimed. "What happened?"
My voice was shaky. "I-I don't know! I don't know how to control this!"
"Hmm, maybe something is bugging them up; we should go to the factory so I can scan you quick."
We both nodded and went to the factory. On the way there, I tried not to think of anything funny or distracting. Turns out it worked! When we got to the lab, I went to the scanners.
"Ok, let's see what the trouble is," Justin said typing on the computer. "It's ok Emma, you can come back now."
I climbed back out as quickly as I could. I went to the computer to see what would pop up. A big error screen popped up.
"Uh, Emma," Justin said slowly. "It looks like Xana is trying to control your powers so they will go haywire. I'll see if I can try and stop the process."
I sat down near the elevator. This was crazy! Xana was trying to make me regret having powers!
"Ok, I think I have an idea that will help you control your powers. I'm making a necklace that will help with that. Can you go get it from the scanners?" Justin asked.
I nodded and climbed the ladder down. I waited for the scanner to open with the necklace. As soon as it opened, I was shocked. The necklace was beautiful! It had an emerald kind of shape, but it was blue. Put it on and admired it.
"So Justin, if I keep this necklace on, it'll keep my powers under control?" I asked.
Justin nodded and said, "Yep, and if you want; on the weekends I can train you so you won't need the necklace. And once we're done, you can just use the necklace as an accessory if you want."
"Thanks bro."
Chapter 6: Epilogue
The following weekends I was trained by Justin to help me with my powers. I heard more about Ericka and Justin's relationship and that it was going smoothly. Mellissa wasn't as jealous as she was before, and she got along more with Ericka. As for me, I started thinking about everything Justin has been doing for me. So I decided to make a date for him and Ericka, but I tried to make it look like I wasn't planning it, when secretly, I was. I also got him a new power, which was he can access anything, including the Network. I know that there is a long way to go, but we will fight our hearts out to destroy our ememy.
