After I had stopped crying, I wiped away my tears, and walked back into the bedroom where Lilly was listening to music. "Is everything okay?" She asked, turning to face me as I took a seat on the bed. "Yeah, everything's fine." I said, giving her a fake ensuring smile. "we can leave early if you want." She suggested, but I know how much this trip meant to her, and I'm not going to ruin this for her. "No it's okay, Everything is fine." I said, as I heard my stomach rumble. I hadn't eaten anything this morning. I walked over to the kitchen and made pancakes, slowly taking mini bites. I was starving but I could barely eat.
Everything has changed so much. Just a while ago I had moved into Harry's apartment. I remember my first day meeting Harry so clearly. He was exactly the same, angry, and rude. He will never change will he? Even if he does love me, he doesn't know how to show it. I just can't help but think, how would things have ended if I never met him?
I'm glad I met him, Harry has helped me realize so many things, I'm no longer that weak, naive girl everyone wanted to protect. I've learned from my mistakes, I know how to stand up for myself, I can speak up for the truth. I've grown from my mistakes, and that's all that matters. I see Harry for the way he really is, and I see others, the way no one else would think to see. I have realized that everyone has their own battles to fight, and everyone has something they worry about. I've realized the truth now.
Once I finished my pancakes, I cleaned up the dishes, and sat in the living room watching tv.
After thirty minutes or so Lilly said she wanted some fresh air and left the house, as I continued to watch television.
By the time it was midnight Lilly still wasn't home, and neither was Harry. I decided to have fun by myself and called a cab to take me to a bar. Once I got there it was filled with people, everyone having fun.
I ordered a bottle of beer, and just started drinking. Suddenly I felt a tap on my back. I turned to see a blonde boy, somewhat cute, wearing jeans and a white t-shirt from true religion.
"Hi." I said with a smile. "Hey, I couldn't help but notice you were sitting all alone, mind if I sit with you?" He asked, as I nodded kindly. "I'm Michael, by the way." He added, taking a seat next to me. "Alice, nice to meet you." I smiled at him, he seemed like a nice guy. "What is a beautiful woman like you doing here all alone?" He asked, causing me to blush. "There's just a lot going on in my mind, needed to clear some thoughts up." I replied.
The best thing about strangers is, you can tell them anything you desire, because they will never see you again anyway.
"What brings you here?" I asked, repeating his question. "Had a fight with my parents. Don't approve of what I'm doing with my life. They want me to go to college- but it's just not my thing." He answered. I appreciate the fact that he's honest with me, I'm sick of everyone around me constantly lying to me.
We continued to talk for a while, getting extremely drunk together. We eventually ended up making out. I asked him to come home with me, and we called a cab to take us back. Once we got to Harry's house I asked him to be extremely quiet as we walked into the basement, where I know no one would be. There was nothing but a couch and an old tv there. We laid on the couch, making out and slowly taking off each other's clothing. I would regret this in the morning, but I honesty don't even care.
I woke up with a headache, on top of Michael. We were both extremely hung over. We got dressed, then he said "I want to see you again, what's your number." He said, kissing me gently on my forehead. "I actually don't live here, this is my friends house. I live in Seattle." I admitted. "Oh, well I hope to see you again. Pay me a visit of you ever find yourself in Miami again." He said, giving me a wink, causing me to giggle. "Alright." I replied with a smile, then walked him out the house. As soon as I shut the door i heard Harry.
"Did you sleep with him?" He asked. "Jesus Christ Harry, I don't have to tell you anything." I stated angrily. I tried to walk away but he grabbed my arms and pushed me against the wall. "Yes, are you happy? I had sex with him, is that what you wanna hear?" I said. "Now let me go, I'm not interested in talking to you." I angrily said, trying to get him to let me go. His grip softened a bit, he didn't say anything. "Well? Are you going to let me go or not?" I asked, annoyed at this point. He let go without saying anything, looking down on the wooden floor. "Did you like him?" He whispered. "Yeah I did, now leave me alone." I answered. I don't care about his feelings anymore. I'm going to ruin him like he did to me.
"In fact I'm thinking about calling him over tomorrow night. He offered to take me over to his house." I added, which was a lie, but I wanted to hurt him as much as I could. When he turned to face me, there were tears in his face, I was shocked, I didn't expect him to be hurt that much, I didn't even think he liked me anymore after the huge fight we had last night. "Why are you crying? You were the one who said you didn't want me anymore, after the huge fight." I stated.
"But that's what we do Ally. We fight, we say shit we don't mean, but then we make up. That's our thing." He said, his voice starting to crack. "Do you even love me anymore? I don't know what to believe anymore. One minute you tell me you love me, the next you tell me to go away." I replied. "Yes of course I still love you, you know that. All the things I showed you, all that I've told you. The shed, my nightmares, my parents, my mom... How could you for a minute think I didn't love you?" He said, as he wiped his tears with his shirt, revealing his abs for a split second. "I don't know Harry, I- I just need time. I need time to think about this. So much has happened I don't know what I'm supposed to do anymore. We've been through this so many times." I said. "It's okay, I'll wait." He replied, walking over to me, giving me a gentle kiss on my forehead. "I- I have to go take a shower." I stuttered, walking away from him.
After taking my shower, I changed, and walked back into the bedroom where Lilly was. "Where were you last night?" I asked, drying my hair. "Just went shopping. Then I stopped by this dance club." She answered, reading her book.
After placing my hair in a fishtail braid I walked into the living room with Lilly, where Harry was. Lilly sat next to Harry but I chose to sit across from them instead. "So what did you guys do while I was gone?" Lilly asked, surfing through the channels. I awkwardly looked over at Harry, expecting him to make something up. "I visited an old friend." He replied, he must've done that when he stormed out on me. We watched tv for about an hour until Lilly suggested we play a board game. "I don't have any board games." Harry simply said. "Then we'll buy one." Lilly suggested.
We all got in the car, and drove to the nearest Walmart. We got out, and looked through the children's isle. Harry and I waited for Lilly to pick out a board game. "Why is he staring at me." Harry asked me, talking about the little boy who looked like he was about six years old. He continued to stare up at him, like he was a really tall tree. "Leave him alone he's just a kid." I whispered back. "It's creepy." He mumbled. "Why are you so big?" The kid asked. "I'm not that big." Harry replied, forgetting that he was just a child. "Yeah you are." The child said. Their conversation went a little like this;
H: no I'm not
Kid: yeah you are
H: I'm really not
Kid: your like bigger than the entire world, I bet if you reached up, you could touch the moon!
H: that's impossible and doesn't even make sense
Kid: yeah it does
H: it really doesn't
Kid: you're stupid
H: you're not even allowed to say that, and I'm smarter than you so shut it.
"Harry! He's just a kid calm down." I hissed. "Then you try talking to him." Harry scoffed, backing away. I bent down to reach to the child's height. "Hi sweetie, you should probably go to your mom, it's not safe talking to strangers." I kindly said. "Shut up lady!" He screamed, stuck out his tongue, and ran away. I got back up, extremely surprised. Harry started to laugh at me. "You're so great with kids, I should've taken notes." He sarcastically said. "Oh shut up." I mumbled, walking over to Lilly who hadn't made a decision yet. "Jesus Christ just pick monopoly and get this shit over with." Harry groaned in annoyance. "How bout Jenga?" I offered. "Candy Land!" Lilly screeched. "Hey, how about these?" Harry asked, pointing at a black box with white letters. "Cards against humanity?" I asked, I've never heard of the game before. "Sounds interesting enough." Harry said. "Let's buy it!" Lilly said in excitement. We bought the game and left the store.
Once we got home we all sat around the dining table. Lilly opened the box, took a look at the cards, then proceeded to read the rules. "Alright, someone has to be the judge each round, who wants to be the judge this round?" Lilly asked. "Let Ally do it, she's good at telling people what's right and wrong." Harry said with a smirk. I frowned, God, he's such a dick. "Shut up." I mumbled. "I'll be the judge." Lilly offered.
She placed a card on the table that said "I voted for ____." "Okay, who ever has the funniest card to go with it, wins the round." Lilly explained. I grabbed a card that I thought would go with it. "Okay, reveal your cards." Lilly said, and we both placed our cards on the table. Harry had picked "Obama's left nut." Which caused all of us to laugh for a good minute. It felt nice to laugh, to spend some time all together instead of fighting. Even though a while ago Harry was crying over me. I had picked "Hilary Clinton." Which wasn't as creative, but I thought the point of the game was so that it made sense. "I pick Harry's. He gets a point." Lilly said in between laughs.
