Cassie McGregor died 50 years ago. But she's not gone. Far from it. Cassie comes when you call her name. Cassie come when you make her angry. Cassie comes when you call for her.
Chapter 1
My new house is dark and it always seems like it's leaning over you. I sat there in my mom's car and stared at it.
"Megan! Get out of that car and help me grab our bags!" my mom called. I opened the door and slammed it shut. I dragged my feet through the wet fall leaves just to make her angry. She was tapping her fingers do I could tell she was mad. She dropped three big suitcases into my arms.
"Oof," I said as they hit my chest. I slowly made my way up to the door and went inside. We went back outside several times until our van was empty of our luggage. Our furniture had been here for awhile already. I sighed and cracked my back as I plopped down on our plush sofa. A huge cloud of dust immediately clouded tue room.
I coughed and sneezed as mother did the same.
"Megan! Come on, you've got to remember to take the sheet of before you sit down!" she cried.
"Sorry, it's hard to remember that when we haven't moved for 15 years!" I said back. It took us awhile but finally we finished dusting "very thing and went to find our rooms. I had picked a large room at the end of the hall upstairs.
"Knock, knock. Meg, can I come in?" Mom asked. "It's a pretty nice place you've got here." I took the sheet off my twin bed. Then I started to neatly put my clothes in my oak dresser. "Please answer me Megan."
"Yes, you can come in. And I know it's nice that's why I picked this room," I replied with sarcasm in my voice. I could tell she was upset and a little bit sad as she walked out of my room.
"Just hurry," she said as she walked away. "I'm making dinner."
After dinner I showered and went to bed. It felt odd sleeping in a new room. So I turned on my T.V and watched until I heard my mom go to bed down the hall. I turned off the T.V and fell asleep.
Later that night I woke up. A noise had woken me. I wasn't sure what it was so I went back to sleep. But a few hours later I woke up again and saw someone standing at the end of my bed. The person was a female based on her long, curly blond hair.
"Mom, is that you?" I asked groggily. She didn't reply. "Mom?" The figure trend around slowly with jerky movements until she was able to stare at me with ghostly yellow eyes. I threw my blanket over my head and hid. A few minutes later I looked back at the spot she had been in. She was gone. No sign of her anywhere.
"GET OUT!" someone yelled into my right ear. I spun around and found myself face to face with the girl with the yellow eyes.
"Wholly shit! What the hell!" I cried Then I did what any normal person would do. I screamed at the top of my lungs. And the figure darted forward and grabbed me by the neck and lifted me into the air. "GET OUT OF MY ROOM! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" And then everything went black as I passed out from the lack of oxygen in my lungs.
Chapter 2
I woke up in the morning and my throat burned with every breath I took. For some reason it brought back memories from last night. Probably just a dream from being in a new home.
"Megan, its time for breakfast!" my mom called from downstairs. I got up sluggishly and my back and neck a popped so loud it founded like one of those gun shows. I pulled on sweats and a tank top, grabbed my cell phone, and walked downstairs. On my way down I quickly programmed
our new number into my phone and labelled it "home". As I reached the bottom of the stairs the smell of bacon reached my nose and my stomach growled making me realize how hungry as I was.
I walked into the dining room and sat down as my nom brought food from the kitchen. When she was done she sat down in front of me. Suddenly my phone rang and without even thinking I turned it on speaker phone as I answered. The mistake nearly made me deaf.
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! GET OUT! GET OUT!" a voice screamed through the line. My mom looked startled and dropped her fork on her plate. The phone line went dead.
"Who was that?" she asked me.
"I don't know," I replied. Then I checked the caller ID and I could feel all the blood drain from my face. My mom saw my reaction and repeated her question.
"Who called?" she asked. I shakily turned the phone so she could see the screen.
"We did," I choked out. She gasped.
Chapter 3
"Call it," my mom said. "Call the number and see if it is actually ours. Maybe you types it in wrong." I forced my mind to accept this idea.
"Okay," I whispered and selected the number. I pressed "call" and put it on speaker. A few seconds later what we both feared happened. The phone n the kitchen rang. It got worse. Something happened that made me want to scream. Someone answered the phone.
"I SAID GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! IF YOU DON'T YOU WILL DIE! I'VE WARNED YOU THREE TIMES NOW AND I WILL NOT A FOURTH!" I screamed and hit end. I stared at my mom on the other side of the table. She stated back. Then something happened that made me cry and I remember to this very day. She smiled at me.
She kept smiling. She wouldn't stop. It was lake she was frozen that way. With a sickly sucking sound her head slowly fell off her neck. I was to stunned to even move.
"I warned you," someone whispered in my ear. "Now you must die."
