"Sit," I said as I pointed towards the couch.
"Don't tell me what to do." He grunted as he growled, I didn't bother replying to him and just rolled my eyes. He sat down on the couch while I sat beside him facing his direction. I turned his head towards me and I hated the way he had his scrutinizing gaze upon me until he blurted out
"You don't have to babysit me." This time I couldn't help but scoff
"Trust me I'm not. I would need money if I did." I bluntly replied. Honestly, I didn't even want to stay in this close proximity with him, he makes me nervous. But here I am, anyway.
"It's just a busted knuckle. I don't need your care." I rolled my eyes at him. The moment my eyes landed on his knuckle I winced. It was bloody. Like literally. I could see some blood dripping down on the floor. I'm sure it's broken.
"Well someone needs to care about it," I said.
"And that someone isn't you." He snapped. Why is he mad at me? Huh... Arrogant brat.
"Why? because you don't love me? Too bad my humanitarian mechanism doesn't work your way. I do care for people." I bit back at his arrogant ass. He clenched his jaw and stayed quiet before opening it again.
"It doesn't need that much help."
I'm done with him.
"Yeah...With the look of how things were going on there surely, William needs more help." I muttered to which he frowned.
"Who William?" He asked confused.
"The guy you almost killed." I simply stated only to find him become stiff and I felt his eyes burning holes at me. Gulping I quickly turned away from him and I tried to recall where I had last seen the first aid box. I heard him scoff before he bit through gritted teeth "Too bad you're not his Wife."
I just shrugged. "Yeah, I know right," I smirked at him while he just gawked at me.
"He was a douch." I heard him say, but I just got up and made my hair in a bun as I walked to the kitchen getting a big bowl, and filled it with hot water.
"And why'd you say that anyway?" I asked in a slightly high-pitched voice so I'm audible to him. Getting a soft cotton cloth I took the Bowl with me and entered back to the living room, placing it beside his feet on the ground while I just kneeled down and softly took his hand on mine to which he winced in the slightest manner possible and tried to pull away but stopped when I glared at him.
"He had bad intentions for Anusha!" He said as if trying to control his temper, I gasped at his words. He did?
"And how do you know that?" I asked frowning as I softly dipped the cloth into the warm water and then placed it on his Knuckles, cleaning the surface around the wound first.
"It felt that way." This time I looked at him giving him a weird look. Is he serious? He felt a guy was forcing himself on someone...so he almost killed him?
"You felt that way?" I asked again and he shrugged Making my brows shoot up.
"Well Nuraan, you need to stop breaking people's faces just because you feel that way." I said, c'mon I'm a law student and of course I am not very accustomed to believing someone, just because of some 'feelings' they have.
"You trying to say I'm wrong." He said with gritted teeth. I shook my head
"Noo I---" I shrugged. "I'm saying that if you just hit him because you felt that way then yes it is wrong because it's like judging someone by their looks---." I tried to explain but he cut me off and snatched away his hand away roughly.
"Well, I saw him lay his dirty hands on her!" I wasn't ready for his uncalled outburst at all. And I don't even take them. I scoffed at him frowning
"Well then say that you SAW it rather than your ' I FELT IT' for calling out loud! There's a difference!" What does he think I am that he can shout at me, its not that I'm purposely taking his side I'm just reacting as and when to his words. Jeez!
"Do you think I'm a barbaric caveman who goes around hitting people for no reason?" He said as he stood up from the couch. I clenched my jaw and stood up as well looking straight into his eyes.
"No, I think you are some kid who needs classes for learning basic English and Vocabulary AGAIN! "
He opened and closed his mouth like a fish slightly taken aback by my raised voice and just as he was about to say something I cut him. "Now Shut up and let me do my work!" I said as I pointed a finger at him. To my surprise, he just sat down quite like a kid probably after muttering a curse.
Whatever. I couldn't help but feel a bit satisfied with myself. Good. I turned around looking for the medical kit as I heard him grumble.
"I don't need your help, really." Uff
"And I don't need you whining like a kid here, but you are, anyway," I replied. Sighing I bit my bottom lip glaring at the first aid kit that looked back at me from the top-most cupboard. Getting on my tiptoes I stretched my hands to get that bloody thing but no matter what I do. I was too short. sighing I smiled at the box which peaked at me from the top and with all the love I have I sang to of course in a hushed tone. "Come closer I'll give you all my love."
With all my might I stretched up again this time with full determination I clenched my jaw, dare that minion even come to my hand by mistake. "You ugly loathsome toad just get the fuck down." No luck. I was ready to get the stool when all of a sudden I felt a presence behind me and before I know the first aid Kit was right in front of me. I bit my lips as I took it from him and slowly turned around and smiled at him to which he just rolled his eyes and waved his hand.
We sat down as I cleaned his wound after which I took out the bandage. "I'm not wearing that." He said pointing towards the bandage making me smile sarcastically at him "Well you have to."
"no."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No!"
"I'm not asking."
"For fuck's sake why are you so difficult!" he snapped
"Because you are difficult!" Before he could say further and I cut him "give me your hand." I said in an authoritative tone to which he remained motionless.
Douch.
Taking the bandage in my hand I sat beside him on the couch with my legs crossed facing towards his side face. I took his hand on mine and placed it on my lap. He tried to pull away but of course, I didn't let him, making him Huf.
I was glad he didn't open his shitty mouth again letting me do my work with peace but then I was too quick to celebrate.
"Why do you care?" I looked up to see him looking back at me with curiosity-filled eyes making me frown. "What do you mean?" He released a sigh before saying "Last I remember, we didn't exactly end up on good terms, but still here you are being a nun." He let out monotonously
I looked down back at his hands making a face.
Why am I being a nun again?
"I don't know." I seriously don't "maybe I'm just like that." I whispered softly. I felt him tense a little.
"You'd have done it for anyone then." His tone was a bit harsh making me wince. I shook my head and looked up only to find myself stop breathing. His face stood pretty close to mine making me slightly lean back but even then I found myself being caught in those blue orbs.
"No." I voiced out almost inaudibly.
"I did it because it was you." Where did that come from! Oh god! His eyes widened for what seemed like a million milliseconds before he let out the words I never expected him to say.
"Thank you." His gaze fell right on my lips and I found myself being conscious and did the only thing I always do when I'm nervous. I slowly bite on my lower lip to stop myself from letting out another coherent word that would get him back to being the brat he is. He sucked in the air sharply before quickly turning to the side.
Oh god!
"I-I'll ch-change and your welcome." I quickly hurried with the words and got up ready to run to my bedroom when he grabbed my wrist making me stop.
"I need to tell you something." He said getting up from his seat. I shook my head
"No you need to rest Nuraan. We can speak later." I said as I freed my hands from his and turned to leave only to be pulled back again but this time by his hand on my upper arm making me almost fall on him.
"I need to tell you something now, Wife." He sounded way too serious for my liking so I just decided to give up. Straightening myself I nodded at him
"Go ahead."
He took a deep breath before clenching his jaw
"I'm sor---"
"Nuraan!" His words were cut off by the loud shrill voice that echoed in the room.
