Chapter 6;
I gasp and shoot up in bed, heart racing and sweat dripping down my forehead. "Rebekah!" I exclaim out of habit while I clutch my chest trying to slow my breathing down.
Opening my eyes I came face to face with merely blury shapes, rubbing my eyes with my hands everything cleared up just as memorys of my location came flooding back.
Looking around I mentally thanked the lord that no one heard me yell Rebekah or they may get a little confused. The room was brightly lit from the sun outside indicating to me that it was fairly late in the morning.
Slowly, still trying to calm my breathing down I threw the blanket back and pushed myself to the edge before standing up, bringing the blanket with me and wrapped it around my body while walking towards the kitchen looking for Cami.
Walking into the kitchen I noticed a pink note on the bench. Walking over to it I picked it up to see very neat writing in black permo.
'Heidi,
Was called into work early this morning. Theres food and drink in the fridge, please help yourself to anything you want. My friend Davina will be coming over at 11 to show you around New Orleans and lend you some clothes.

It read and I smiled at it and I smiled, Cami barely knew me yet she was so kind. Scrunching up the note I searched for the bin and threw it out while looking up at the clock which read '10:57' which means this Davina chic will be here any minute....great.
Hugging the blanket closer to my body I went and sat back down on the bed and grabbed my backpack and opened it up, pulling my phone out I turned it on only for it to violently vibrate a million times as every message finally came through.
Turning it on I gasped at the amount of messages and missed calls I had, from both Matt and Rebekah...I had 100 messages and 50 missed calls...great.
Sighing I turned my phone off and threw it onto the bed while falling backwards onto the bed and clutching my forehead.
Suddenly there was a loud knock at the door, startling me as I hear it being opened followed by light and heavy footsteps. "Hello?" I hear a sweet female voice call out, curiously I climb off of the bed and walk towards the front entrance where a young girl around my age with honey brown hair, fair but pretty skin and big brown eyes. With her was a male who looked a few years older, he had short black, neatly styled hair, dark brown almost black eyes and plump lips.
"Oh hey you must be Heidi, im Davina and this is Josh. We're friends with Cami" the girl says motioning to herself and this Josh guy while slowly nodded, sending them a friendly smile. "Hi, its nice to meet you" I said awkwardly and Davina smiled kindly at me before handing me a plastic bag of clothes.
"I grabbed these for you, hopefully our sizes are similar. Now go get dressed and Josh and I will show you around New Orleans" Davina says and I open up the bag slightly before closing it and saying a 'thankyou' to the two before hurrying into the bathroom to change.
Turning on the light I closed the door, making sure I locked it before stripping down to my bra and undies. Pulling out the clothes I admitted that this Davina girl had a cute taste in clothing.
The clothing consisted of a white flowy dress that was about knee length and had circle patterns above the hips and cute black flats with little bows on the toe. Pulling on the dress I was surprised to see it actually fit perfectly, pulling on the flats I quickly brushed my hair with my fingers and pulled it up into a messy ponytail. Once I was sure I looked.....decent I shrugged and turned the light off before walking out of the bathroom and to where Davina and Josh were waiting patiently.
"Oh good it fits perfectly! Shall we?" She says with a smirk while holding her arm out for me to take which I do hesitantly, joining my arm with her thin one she pulls me out the apartment door, leaving Josh to close and lock it behind us as she pulls me through the hallway, down the stairs and out onto the bust streets of New Orleans. Looking around the place looked just as beautiful as it did yesterday, which I was happy about.
After a few short moments Josh joined us on the cement sidewalk and Davina let go of my arm and turned to face the both of us. "So where should we go first?" Davina questions, looking between Josh and I. Shrugging I looked to Josh for help since I didnt know anyone here so I was definitely not choosing.
"Uhh, how about the Church?" Josh suggested and I noticed that Davina instantly shot him a glare and Josh shot her another look and it was like in those few short silent moments they were comunicating by looks, telling each other secrets that I couldnt know.
And it made me wonder, what if they're supernatural too, and to them im simply another human teenager who ran away from home instead of being a Miracle baby who was in search for her parents. And maybe they're sharing secrets about things that I already know about.
Groaning Davina frowned but in a second covered it up with a smile and turned to me. "The church it is.." she said and I couldnt help but here the annoyance in her voice as if she didnt want me to see the church or maybe what it held.
"Come its not far" Davina says motioning for me to follow her and Josh down the street which I do without hesitation. Walking next to them I allowed my eyes to wonder slightly but I made sure I never lost sight of the two since they were the only people here that I knew.
I observed people talking, there converstations ranging from sweet, innocent high school lovers to almost riping each others throats out. And it fascinated me how every small thing was so different to another small thing.
Converting my eyes back to where I was actually walking I realised that we had briefly stopped outside a large but beautiful old church with stained glass windows, neat gardens and old large wooden doors.
Beckoning me forward I followed Davina and Josh up to the door. "Ready?" Josh asked, smirking at me and I nodded while reaching up and placing my hand on his back to push him forward but as I did something happened.
Not a bad something I just saw something when I touched him, it wasnt clear it was more blury but it vibrared through my body, it was cold, dark and empty.....like death.
Oh my gosh. Josh is a vampire.
"Heidi...are you alright?" My thoughts were cut short and I was pulled back into reality to a very concerned looking Josh and Davina.
"Im Fine, sorry just blanked out for a second.." I said forcing a fake laugh and Davina did the same, but kept looking at me weirdly, I could tell she saw straight through my lie but I knew she wouldnt say anything....yet atleast.
Giving them as much of a convincing smile I could mange I walked forward with them and into a large, empty church that I instantly fell in love with.
Walking inside I didnt pay attention to anything around me, my eyes were fixated on the windows. They truley fascinated me.
"This place is amazing" I smiled, practically breathless. Now I know what you're most likely thinking. 'Wow an old church big deal-.-' but too me it IS a big deal. I dont get to go anywhere or see anything so even the smallest things are huge to me.
I could hear voices from behind me, and I figured out that someone else must be here but I didnt bother to see who, I just assumed it was the priest or something.
Spinning to where Davina and Josh stood with a girl?. Okay so I dont think shes a priest.
"Pretty isnt it?" Davina says with a smile and I nod excitedly before walking slowly to the centre of the church where they stood with the the pretty but random stranger. She looked around 20 maybe with choclate brown hair, beautiful olive skin and big brown eyes that seemed so familiar but at the same time I had never seen them before.
"Josh can I speak with you for a second" Davina whisper/shouts to Josh but drags him away before he can even answer, sending an apology look towards me and the random girl who i still dont know.
"Hey im Ho-Heidi" I say almost doing the same mistake again. Smiling the girl holds her hand out for me to shake which I do willingly. "Hayley Marshall" she smiles and my stomach drops.
My heart misses a beat as a large lump forms in my throat.
"Are you alright? You look like you've just seen a ghost." She questions, concern clear in her voice and I just shake my head trying as hard as I could to calm myself down and to stop myself from breaking.
"No im fine sorry just tired and a little home sick" I lie and she giggles at me while mouthing 'oh' in understandment while I mentally and emotionally pull myself together.
This women is my mother.
Im meeting my mother.
I just met my mother!.
Yep still sounds crazy! I cannot even comprehend anything right now, its like the worlds stopped as my heart did.
This is the women who was pregnant with me for 9 months, who protected me at birth and swore to love me unconditionally until we finally met again. The women who cried knowing she couldnt have me in her arms.
My mother.
She's just as beautiful as I always pictured her, maybe even more.
"So Heidi Davina tells me you're staying at Cami's how long have you two known each other?" Hayley asks me and I awkwardly cough, clearing my throat before answering and making sure I avoided eye contact, afraid that I'd break down.
"Uhh we actually only met yesterday, im a runaway" I say laughing awkwardly and she giggles at me while lightly shoving my shoulder playfully with her hand. "Rebel much" she teases and I finally looked up to her, somehow managing to keep myself calm and stable.
"Apparently I get it from my father" I say and she 'oh's at me. "What do you mean apparently?" She questions curiously and I just wave her off before speaking. "I was given away when I was a baby, my aunty raised me my whole life" I say and I notice her face drop slightly as she fell into deep thought for a moment before shaking her head slightly and smiling at me, with loving eyes that warmed my heart even though she didnt actually know that I was her little girl.
"Well I hope you meet them Heidi" she says, her voice quiet almost in a whisper and I can tell that she really does mean it. Like this topic was a touchy subject for her and it makes me wonder if maybe its because she technically hasnt met me yet.....maybe she really does miss me.
One can only hope.
"Hey, sorry we took so long" Davina says running over to us and I notice that Josh was no longer with her, weird.
"Wheres Josh?" I question and she shrugs. "He had some important buisness to attend to, he'll be back later though" she informs both Hayley and I and I nod while smiling at her before turning back to Hayley.
"It was lovely too meet you" I say to her and she smiles and nods to me. "You too Heidi, I'll see you around" she says then turns to Davina and they say there goodbyes before Davina and I walk slowly towards the door waving goodbye to Hayley before walking back outside into the nice morning air that surrounded us.
"Wait!" A voice yells and Davina and I stop where we were walking and turned to see Hayley running after us before stopping, not even out of breath which doesnt surprise me since I already know shes a Vampire/werewolf hybrid just like my dad supposedly is.
"Did you guys want to come back with me to the French Quarter?" She asks and I notice Davina go to speak, to protest against Hayley but soon shuts her mouth and just smiled nervously while nodding.
"Why not" Davina says sounding defeated and Hayley smirks at us while mouthing something to Davina which I didnt quiet catch but it didnt seem to involve me so I didnt mind.
Ah who am I kidding I wanna know what they're talking about!.
"Shall we?" Hayley smirks at me while motioning for us to follow her down the street which I did willingly but Davina on the other hand was a bit hesitant.
