Leo walked to Mikey's room, tenderly holding an ice pack to his bruised head. He imagined his little brother was probably very upset.
"Hey Mikey?" He called softly. "It's Leo, can we talk?" He heard movement on the other side of the door and Mikey opened it.
Mikey saw the bruise on Leo's head and winced. He knew he really messed up. He shouldn't have pulled that stupid prank.
"Mikey, don't cry little brother....we're not mad at you or anything, we're all fine, just a little bruised."
Mikey sniffled. "But, I almost killed you!" Leo sighed and pulled Mikey into a hug. "Shh, it's ok."
He held him like that for a while. "I'm sorry Mikey, we shouldn't have said that...we're 100% fine, ok?"
Mikey wiped his eyes. "O-Ok." He said simply, though deep down, he knew he had done wrong, like always.
Leo smiled a little. "Hey, you want some pizza? We got your favourite, jellybeans, sardines and jalapenos!"
Mikey smiled back, nodding. Truthfully, he wasn't that hungry but he took a slice anyway and ate it.
He sat in his room for a while, thinking. He only pulled pranks on his bros to make them laugh and smile....
But if they hurt them....what was the point? He couldn't risk almost killing them again. How could he have been so stupid?
Because of him and his pranks, his brothers were hurt.
They could have died.
It's all his fault.
Mikey sighed, taking a deep breath. "I can do this....no more pranking, easy peasy, super cheesy!" He whispered.
"Don't worry bros, you won't have to worry about my dumb pranks anymore."
"I promise...."

A couple days after Mikey's big prank, the brothers began to notice a drastic change in the lair.
It was quite.
Too quiet.
There wasn't much laughter.
They hadn't been pranked all week.
Instead, Mikey sat in his room, watching cartoons or reading comics, bored out of his mind.
He sighed. On a day like this, he would pull a prank to loosen some of the tension in the air.
But he wasn't going to.
Instead, Mikey pulled out another comic book. "My bros are probably happy....won't miss my pranks."
Leo sat in the lair, a slight bruise still visable on his head. Raph sat next to him, still wearing a sling and Donnie who still had a bandage on his arm.
"Hey guys?" Leo spoke, breaking the silence. "Is it just me or is it kinda... quiet in here?"
Raph nodded. "Yeah, Mikey hasn't pranked us all week! I guess that one prank knocked some sense into him."
Leo nodded. "Mikey was really upset about that...I talked to him a few days ago and he felt really bad, he kept saying he didn't want to kill us."
Donnie looked up. "I guess I shouldn't have told him that....but he really could have killed us."
Leo nodded. "He seemed ok after I spoke to him, he calmed down and everything so I think he's fine."
"Probably....beware guys, April first is in a few days, we're probably gonna get pranked like crazy." Raph warned.
They groaned.
Mikey always went all out on April Fools Day. It was the one day of the year that he could prank the shells off them and not get yelled at.
"Thanks for the heads up...I was thinking of inventing a prank-proof suit so we'll be protected!" Donnie grinned.
"Good idea, I don't want pie in my shell like last time! That took forever to wash out! I had to take 4 showers!"
They looked at Raph who shrugged. "What, it's true!" He said. "Who knows what he's planning this time."
Leo hummed. "April Fool's Day is the one time of the year that Mikey can prank us without us getting annoyed."
They all agreed on that.
A few days later...
It was April first and Mikey was completely bored. He was also very sad. He couldn't do his favorite thing in the world.
"It's for the best." He told himself. "I don't want to hurt them again, they'll probably be so happy."
He sighed, flopping on his bed. He looked under his bed and pulled out the hugs box of prank stuff.
Feathers, whipped cream, water balloons and other things laid in the box. Mikey knew he'd never be using any of them again.
It was a shame though, he had been planning this day for a long time and now, he was throwing it all away.
"Goodbye pranks." He said sadly, shoving the box back under his bed, never wanting to look at it again.
He was upset that he wasn't going to be able to prank Master Splinter, because today was the one day of the year where he wouldn't get scolded like usual.
"I'll just stay here today." He decided, not really wanting to leave his room. He just wanted to forget what day it was.
Meanwhile, the brothers and Splinter sat in the lair, huddled up. Yes, Mikey pranked Splinter too. It was the only day of the year that he could.
"Are you sure it's today?" Leo asked. Donnie nodded, looking at the calendar. "It's today, no doubt."
"Did you make those prank-proof suits yet, Don?" Raph asked. Donnie nodded. "Yep, in my lab."
They walked in the lab....very cautiously, and Donnie handed them the suits. He smiled in pride.
"Hypermetric uniforms, sustainable against any force and equipped with power cushions on all sides!"
Raph and Leo looked at him blankly. "Uh, can you say that in english, brainiac?" Raph asked.
Donnie sighed. "Suits that will protect is from any prank, with pillows on all sides for extra protection."
They nodded and put them on. Donnie even made one for Master Splinter, who put it on.
They all sat in the lair, on guard. This was weird...was Mikey planning a sneak attack?
Normally by now, something would have happened. Mikey would have gotten up early to plot his pranks.
"Uh...this has never happened before." Leo muttered, slightly relaxing. "Yeah, is he prankin' us or not?" Raph said.
Splinter sat up hesitantly. "Maybe Michealangelo has forgotten about April Fool's Day, my sons?"
Donnie shook his head. "He would never forget, I'm sure of it." He said, tightening up his suit.
They sat in silence for a few more minutes. "He's going to prank us...I know it." Raph added.
"Probably...it's the one day he can without getting scolded!"
"Maybe he really did forget..."
"Nah, he's gonna prank us, he's gotta!"
But Mikey wasn't going to.
No more April Fool's...
Ever.
