6 weeks after writing those letters to Santa where Paulo asked for another baby you were stood in the bathroom holding a pregnancy test in your hands. You haven't looked at it yet but you knew that it was time to. Nobody else was in the house since Lucas was in school, Santiago was in nursery and Paulo was at training. You had the day off of work so you thought that it would be the perfect time to see if you were actually pregnant or not. You had been having the exact same or near enough same symptoms as both of your pregnancy's with Lucas and Santiago so you were pretty sure that you were pregnant again. It wouldn't be a bad thing if you were but it would be a shock.
"Oh god!" You said looking at the two lines. With the initial feelings, you didn't know whether or not you were happy about the results. Obviously, you were happy and you knew that Paulo would be too since he was the one hinting at wanting another baby but at the moment it was a family of what you had dreamed of never really wanting more than two kids. There was a part of you however which wanted a baby back in the house. They were a lot of work but also adorable and you hated the fact that Lucas was in school and Santiago would be starting in September they were growing up and you didn't like that idea. You knew that they would have to but you liked the idea of them being your babies still. You had to tell Paulo soon and you knew that but luckily he was the only one to tell because you would tell everyone else after your 12-week scan to make sure that everything is okay. Paulo was the only one that would know before you just had to find the perfect way to tell him.
A week after you knew that you had to tell Paulo and all week you had been trying to figure out ways to tell him and eventually you think you have found the perfect way. You told Paulo about having Santiago by putting a t-shirt on Lucas and told him to show daddy which he did. Original you know. So this time you wanted to come up with something good and you couldn't even tell Lucas or Santiago knowing that the first thing they would do would be to tell Paulo. The idea that you had would be to send him on a little scavenger hunt around the house so that he would find the pregnancy test and a note for him. That's exactly what you were going to do so as soon as the house was empty once again you began to write out the different little clues and hide them, well place them, where they needed to be. Surprisingly it didn't take as long as you thought that it would take but you knew that it wouldn't be long until Paulo comes home from training so you had to leave the house for a bit.
As soon as training ended Paulo went straight home to spend some time with you knowing the kids were still at school and it would be one of the only times he could spend alone with you. There never seemed to be anytime now for just the two of you to spend with each other so every little minute counted. When he got outside of the house he pushed open the door thinking that it would be unlocked considering that you should be home. Paulo pushed the door and considering that he wasn't paying attention he walked straight into the door. Embarrassed he quickly looked around to see if anybody was looking which luckily no one else was. He quickly grabbed his keys out of his pocket and unlocked the front door closing it behind him but not locking it. Quickly he threw his shoes off and went to place them on the shelf where they belong and when he didn't notice that there was a note in the place where he puts his shoes. There are 4 different areas on the shelf. One for each of you. The front of the card had 'Scavenger Hunt Clue #1' on it so when Paulo placed his shoes down he grabbed the card and flipped it over and began to read.
Clue #1: Hey baby! I hope training was good and I'm so glad you're here! I know it's been a long day you should go and grab yourself a drink.
Paulo read. He rolled his eyes at what you have done whilst he was at training but decided to follow what you had written wanting to know the reason for this. He read the note again getting the information in his head before walking into the kitchen knowing that was the location of the drinks if they weren't placed in the fridge. He left his bag by the front door deciding to move it later on and began to go to the kitchen with the note in his hand. Paulo placed the note down onto the side once making it to the kitchen before opening the cupboard and pulling out a note that had Clue #2 written on the front of it. He turned over the neatly written note and began to read what it said.
Clue #2: The next clue on your hunt will keep you on your toes. Go to the place where we hang our clothes!
As soon as Paulo read it he placed it down on top of the other note and went to grab his bag that he left on the floor. Since he was going upstairs he may as well bring it up with him. He ran up the stairs and threw his bag onto the bed vowing to himself to unpack it once this scavenger hunt was over. Quickly he went into the wardrobe and the last one that he opened happened to be the one with the note in it and impatiently he read it. He wanted to know what all of this was about now.
Clue #3: Now go ahead get changed from the day. Once you are comfy find your next clue in the children's room.
Paulo did as it said on the note and although he was already in comfy clothes they were all dirty so needed to be washed anyway. He changed into a pair of joggers and a top but before he went into one of the children's rooms he went and placed his dirty clothes in the washing machine knowing how annoyed you would get at him if he didn't. He first went to Lucas' room and then to Santiago's but couldn't find the card anywhere. He knew it would be in plain sight and not hidden anywhere so he was a little bit confused. After a couple of seconds, he realised that it would be there playroom since it was the only room that they share and you wrote 'children's' on the card. When he got to the children's playroom it was right on the drawing table so he picked it up and began to read it.
Clue #4: Wanting more? Why don't you check the front door!
Right at that moment, well not right at that moment maybe a couple of seconds later, the doorbell went off. He sighed knowing that this would be something else that you had planned. He made his way down to the front door and opened it. It wasn't what he was expecting though. He was not expecting you to be stood there with a smile on your face and holding out the 5th note for him.
"Hello." You said as soon as Paulo opened the door. He looked a little taken back at first but once the shock subsided he just looked happy to see you. He was always happy to see you no matter what mood he was in before it would always turn around as soon as he lays eyes upon you.
"You're back! What are you planning?" Paulo said to your mood quickly changing.
"Finish the hunt to find out." You said to him not wanting the conversation to last very long because you were getting impatient as well. You pushed the card into his hands to hopefully get him to move. As soon as the card was firmly in his hands you moved past him and went into the living room to watch some tv whilst he finished off the scavenger hunt. There wasn't long left but it still gave you some time to watch a bit. Paulo stayed in the doorway closing the door but still stayed there and read the note.
Clue #5: Don't worry your search is almost over, check behind the TV and you'll get some closure!
Paulo made his way to the living room where you were watching the TV. You can't lie you did forget that you hid one behind the TV because if you remembered there would be no way that you would be able to watch it if Paulo was around. You watched as he purposefully stood in front of the TV pretending that he couldn't find the card when he obviously could because it was right in front of him. Eventually, he picked it up but you had enough of him standing in the way of the TV.
"Move out the way Paulo." You said to him. He was purposely standing in front of the TV reading the note. All you wanted to do was watch a bit of TV but no Paulo wanted to be annoying.
"You put the note here and I'm just reading it," Paulo said. He had read it over and over again but because it was annoying you he was just standing there and pretending to read it. You just rolled your eyes at him knowing that retaliation would get you absolutely nowhere.
Clue #6: Before the hunt ends give me some lovin! Then go look, there's something baking in the oven!
At least this is the last one. Paulo thought as he moved out of the way of the TV so you could actually watch it now. He quickly went over to you and gave you a quick peck before the curiosity of what all of this was for was getting too much for him now and he really wanted to know. He made his way into the kitchen and went to the oven seeing it was turned off so nothing could be cooking. He opened the door and was quoted disappointed to see that there was no bun there but only a box with a note on top. Paulo pulled both of them out and obviously, he read the first and then would open the box after it.

Paulo read the note a couple of times over to make sure he wasn't imagining it before he actually managed to open the box to clarify it. Inside the box was a positive pregnancy test. Paulo couldn't believe it. He hoped it was a girl. He would never voice it out loud but he would love a mini version of you. Maybe not as many different moods but a mini you nonetheless. He went back into the living room and sat next to you and just placed his hands on your stomach. There was no sign of a baby or anything yet but it was nice him just having his hands on your stomach. It was protective in some sort of way.
"My Christmas wish came true." Paulo laughed after a few minutes of comfortable silence. You just nodded your head not really wanting to say anything about it. You were happy but you didn't want to ruin the moment it was too special. It may have not been planned but sometimes the best things come as surprises. That's not saying that this child will be your favourite but this was a surprise you didn't mind having. As long as it doesn't happen again you would rather not have more than three kids. Having two kids was fine perfectly balanced but having three kids now meant that you and Paulo would be outnumbered. You would learn to deal with it as the time comes like you did with Lucas and Santiago. You placed your hands on top of Paulo's and just sat like that until you had to pick your children up from school and the chaos would immense once again.
