You ask us why we do it,
why we, the young, go out to smite the enemy.
You question our methods,
it's hard for you to see.
Our parents have left us,
they don't give us the time of day.
But united as one we silently agree—
there is much to repay.
For the woman in her condo alone,
for the single man with two jobs,
for the parents with a harsh tone.
For the comrade next to me,
for my mother at home,
for the son watching cartoons with glee.
Although you may not see,
I'm here to protect you.
Although you don't know,
I'll do whatever I have to.
For I love this world,
no matter how cruel—
to the point where I'm fully willing
to end this battle in a deadly duel.
You ask us why we do it,

We do it for you.
And although it may cost,
although many are lost,
it's the right thing to do.
this is either gonna go really good or really bad.
i've never really written poems before so i can't tell if it's extremely bad or just regular bad, but i want to get better at it.
