Gordie POV

As we approached the Little Rock Salvage, we were greeted by a high chain link fence and behind it, was a large amount of wrecked cars. At the sight, Adelaide said,

"Hey, Vern, looks like your ma's been out drivin' again."

Vern sarcastically replied with,

"Ah that's so funny I forgot to laugh."

Teddy "cocked" his sleeping bag and threw it over the side yelling,

"Stand back, men! Paratroops over the side!"

Teddy and Vern started climbing over and jumped over, as I started my climb.  Beneath me, I could see Adelaide struggle up. She would stick her non messed up foot through the fence, and then Chris, (who was beside her), would use his leg to push her up the fence. After a few of these maneuvers, they succeeded. Chris jumped down, and he caught Adelaide when she pushed herself off the fence.

No Trespassing was enforced by Milo Pressman, the junk man, and his dog Chopper. The most feared and least seen dog in Castle Rock. Legend had it that Milo had trained Chopper not just to sic, but to sic specific parts of the human anatomy. Thus a kid who had illegally scaled the junkyard fence might hear the dread cry: 'Chopper, sic balls!!' But right now neither the dread Chopper nor Milo was anywhere in sight.

As Teddy started running around all crazy and called to us to follow him, as I said,

"Man, Teddy's crazy."

The two nodded in agreement as they walked, still supporting eachother, as Adelaide said,

"Yeah."

Chris agreed and said,

"He won't live to be twenty I bet."

That jogged my memory and I said,

"Remember the time you saved him in the tree?"

Chris smiled and said,

"Yeah. You know I dream about that sometimes. Except in the dream I always miss him. I just get a couple of his hairs and down he goes. It's weird."

Adelaide frowned, and I said,

"Yeah. That's weird. You didn't miss him. Chris Chambers never misses, does he?"

Chris smiled, and elbowed Adelaide as he said,

"Not even when the ladies leave the seat down. Right Dolly?"

She smiled and shook her head in laughter as he continued,

"Hey, I'll race ya!"

I prank started formulating  and I decided that it would be fun. I decided to, and I started saying,

" No. I don't know."

Chris looked at me in disbelief and said,

"Right to the pump man, come on."

I kept talking,

"I'm -- I'm kind of tired,"

Then I dropped my sh*t and yelled,

"Go!"

I started running, and Chris dropped his shit and so did Adelaide, and he picked her up and started running, yelling,

"You're a dead man, Lachance!"

As we were racing, Adelaide started commentating in an annoucer voice saying,

"It looks like Lachance has got him this time. He's got Chambers' beat! But what's this? Chambers is making his move! Lachance is fading on it! Chambers at the tape! The crowd goes wild!"

Me and Chris started panting, and he set down Adelaide, as all three of us walked back to the entrance to get our stuff

Time Skip

We all sat under some shade and threw rocks at a can, while Adelaide went to use the bathroom, and Chris walked her to it. So as the three of us sat under the shade when teddy said,

"Have you guys been watching the Mickey Mouse Club lately?'

Me and Vern both nodded, and said,

"Yeah."

And Teddy said,

"I think Annette's tits are getting bigger."

And Vern replied with,

"Think so?"

And Teddy nodded and said,

"Yeah, I think so."

I said,

"Yeah. I think he's right. I've been noticing lately that the A and the E are beginning to bend around the sides."

Vern, being all chipper and dandy, said

"Annette's tits are great!"

We nodded and said,

" Yeah."

Vern continued on saying,

"This is really a good time."

Teddy agreed, saying

"The most."

I thought about it and said,

"I bet that we are having just as much fun as Chris and Adelaide are right now."

Teddy laughed at my joke and Vern was confused as Teddy said,

"They are probably having sex at this very moment. "

Vern's face looked horrified as he said,

"THIS is still the best time though."

Vern didn't just mean being off limits inside the junkyard or fudging on our folks or going on a hike up the railroad tracks to Harlow. He meant those things but it seems to me now there was more and that we all knew it. Everything was there. And around us. We knew exactly who we were and exactly where we were going. It was grand.

Chris POV

I walked Adelaide to the shack of the junkyard that had a bathroom in it. We went to the front of it and tried the door. Not to our surprise (A/N questionable grammar, didn't know how to fix it.), it didn't open. I looked at her, and she said,

"Well sh*t. Lets just go."

As she was about to drag me away, I pulled back and, and said,

"Wow, wow, wow. Let's work this out."

I saw an old window, so we walked over there and with one easy push, I opened it up. We finagled our way into the shack, and it was literally a heap of junk with a chair and a door. So she went to the bathroom  and after a few minutes, we were out the window and making our way back to the gang. I asked her,

"What do you think about all this?"

She shrugged and said,

"I think it's for a good reason, but I love the gang and I don't want them to get hurt on their own."

I stiffened at her comment, and than she realized what she had said. I smirked, and tried to cover up my blush by making fun of her saying,

"Love, huh?"

We walked in silence for the short distance we had left. When we arrived Teddy and Vern weren't paying attention to our beet red faces, but Gordie definitely noticed. He looked at us with a smug grin but didn't say anything out loud. We both took a swig of water and started spitting at the can.

Goride POV

Chris and Adelaide arrived back at the site, still supporting Adelaide, conjoined at the hip, and beet red. I shot them a look but I tossed them the canteen anyway. All five of us started spitting at the can, until Teddy turned and spit at Vern. Vern, disgusted, said,

"Great, spit at the fat kid. True good,"

We were all laughing our a**es off, while he asked me,

"What time is it?'

I looked at my watch, and it read, while I said,

"Uhm - It's a quarter after one."

Adelaide turned and said,

"We better go get food, the junkyard opens at three. And Chopper will be here, and I know y'all are afraid of him."

The last part she said with a smirk.

Teddy turned to Vern and said,

"You go. You can pick us up on the way back."

Vern shook his head and he said,

" I'm not going alone. We should all go."

Teddy reclined further back, even more, and said,

"I'm staying right here."

I responded,

"Yeah, I ain't going."

Teddy started agreeing when Adelaide cut us off, and said

"Girls, girls, cool it."

We all looked at her as Chris continued that train of thought, by saying,

"We will flip for it."

I nodded and replied,

"Okay.  Odd man goes?"

Teddy laughed at me and said,

"That's you, Gordie. Odd as a Cod!"

Chris and Adelaide laughed at the joke, when we flipped the coin. While Adelaide's coin was in the air, Chris snatched it and slapped his own to his wrist. As she opened her mouth to ask what the hell he just did, Vern cut her off when he yelled at the results of the flip.

"Four tails! Oh Jesus, man, that's a goocher!"

We all shook our heads and complained,

" Come on man. That doesn't mean anything!"

Vern looked at us in disbelief as he explained,

"No man, a goocher. That's really bad. You remember when Clint Bracken and those guys got wiped out on Weed Hill in Durham? Billy told me they were flipping for beers. An' they came up a goocher just before they got into the car. And bang! They all got totalled! I don't like this. Sincerely."

Teddy smacked Teddy's leg as he said,

"Verno! Nobody believes in that crap about moons and goochers! It's baby stuff! Now come on. Flip again. Gonna flip or not?"

We all flipped our coins, except for Vern (and Adelaide because she still didn't have her coin back) until Chris hollered at him,

"Come on, Vern, we don't have all day."

While he was yelling at Vern, Adelaide grabbed a coin and flipped.

He gave in and flipped his coin. We revealed the flip results, and Chris and Adelaide were the odd twos out.  Teddy started laughing at them, calling,

" You lose, Chris! Adelaide loses! Oh yall just screw the food!

Chris looked  at Adelaide and hollered,

"What the hell! Why'd you flip!"

She ignored Chris and told Teddy,

"Does the word "retarded" mean anything to you?"

Teddy looked at the two and said,

"Lovebirds, go get the provisions you morphradite!"

Chris looked at him and replied,

"Don't call me any of your mother's petnames."

Teddy still, laughing in hysterics,

"What a wet end you are, Chris!"

Out of anger Chris yelled,

"Shut up!"

With that fatal mistake, me, Vern and Teddy sang,

"I don't shut up, I grow up. And when I look at you I throw up!"

Chris and Adelaide collected the flipping coins and Chris stood up. He helped up Adelaide, and they restored to their walking position, then they were off.

Finding new and preferably disgusting ways to degrade a friend's mother was always held in high regard.
