i. caroline is Klaus' one weakness , he intends to obliterate it. He can't afford weakness sin his life and as long as caroline is alive or near him he is venerable.
ii. klaus tries to ask calmly why caroline has been avoiding him. There were good reasons stated by the blonde but klaus knew that none of those reasons were real.
