Y/n's POV
I Walked into the dance hall with Ruby. We opened the door to see it in a mess. Scattered tables. Scatter Chairs. Everything was a mess. We both sat down at one table and Weiss came up to us. She put 2 tablecloths in front of me. I saw Y/n looking at me in the corner of my eye.
Weiss: I need you to pick a tablecloth.
I looked at both of them, but they looked the same.
Ruby: Aren't they both the same?
She then gets frustrated.
Weiss: I don't even know why I asked!
She then looked at Y/n but he replied before she asked while not even looking at her.
Y/n: The middle one. It looks exquisite.
Weiss: Finally, someone who understands decor. Thank you, Y/n (Walks away),
She then walked away.
Y/n: Yeah, I couldn't tell the difference either.
Ruby: (Giggle)
I felt some emotion behind me I couldn't quite put my finger on. I looked back to see Yang. She then placed a giant speaker next to me.
Yang: Have you picked out a dress yet!
Ruby: Who cares about the dance if Blake isn't going.
Yang: Y/n you're going?
Y/n: Yep!
Yang: Oh! That's great! I assume it's with Ruby.
Y/n: Of course!
Yang: Oh, and Ruby, trust me. She's coming.
Yang then walked away from the two.
Yang: Well, have fun you two.
She looked to the side.
Yang: Weiss! I thought we agreed no doilies!
Weiss stomped over to her.
Weiss: If I don't get doilies then you don't get fog machines!
The door swung open. Neptune and Sun were there.
Neptune: Your dance is going to have fog machines?
Weiss suddenly changed character.
Weiss: We were thinking about it. So, what are you both wearing?
Sun gestured to his clothing.
Sun: Uh, This!
Neptune then put an arm in front of his face.
Neptune: Ignore him, for he knows not what he says.
Sun: I may have moved to Mistral, but I grew up in Vacuo, It's not a very shirt and tie type of place.
Yang: We noticed.
Sun: So, is Blake still being all Blake-y.
Yang: Oh no she's going! Trust me she'll be there.
Sun brightened up.
Sun: Oh really!? Thanks!
Y/n's POV
I was minding my own business once again. Walking through the Corridor When I was about to past Team JNPR's dorm when I heard slight footsteps.
Jaune: We need to talk. (Pulls me and throws me on the bed).
Y/n: Gah!
Jaune: Ren, Y/n... I'm just going to come out and say it. You two are some of my best friends. These past few months, I feel like we've really bonded. Even though Ren, don't say much and Y/n. You may talk too much sometimes.
Y/n: Hey!
To be honest I don't know that much about you personally but darn it - I consider you two to be the brothers I never had!
Ren: And I you...
Y/n: Yeah! Were the boys!
Jaune: Which is why I wanted to get your advice on... Girls...
Ren: Girls?
Y/n: You've come to the right place!
Jaune: I just... don't know... how to... girls. Um, I guess what I'm asking is... Well... how did you and Nora...? You know...
Ren: Uh...
Nora: Ahem. (Embarrassed laughing) We're not actually together, together.
Jaune: Nora, I said headphones on!
Nora: Oop!
Jaune: And... Y/n, I saw multiple girls ask you out to the dance... And... Well, I want to know how you do it.
Y/n: How I do it?
Jaune: Yeah!
Y/n: Umm... Well. I don't know. I don't?
Jaune: You really have no clue, do you?
Y/n: Nope!
Ren: Jaune... What is this all about?
You start to feel a sad aura from outside of the dorm room.
Jaune: (Sigh) It's Weiss. I'm completely head over heels for her, and she won't even give me a chance. She's cold. But... she's also incredible. She's smart, and graceful, and talented, I mean, have you heard her sing?! I just wish she'd take me seriously, yakow? I wish I could tell her how I feel. Without messing it all up.
Pyrrha: Then do it.
Jaune: Uh, Wha-?
Pyrrha: Tell her exactly what you've just said. No ridiculous schemes, No pick-up lines. Just... be honest.
Jaune: But, wh-
Pyrrha: Jaune. You can't get it wrong if it's the truth.
Jaune: (Getting up) You're right. Thanks, Pyrrha. Good talk Ren and Y/n!
He walks out of the room, and he shuts the door. Pyrrha looked away and put her hand on her arm.
Nora: Practice what you preach Pyrrha.
Y/n: Yeah. Hes fucked.
You suddenly see Pyrrha charging towards you. She does a frontfilp and smoked My jaw with a powerful slap. You see you hear something shatter.
CRACK!
You put your hand on your jaw to feel a slight dent in the mandible bone. You look in shock towards Pyrrha. Ren and Nora also looked in shock.
Pyrrha: Language!
Y/n: R-Right.
I walked out of the room with my hand on my jaw. Traumatized.
Y/n: Let me just get a suit.
Afterwards, I had went to the shop and put on my suit. This was the suit I had chosen.
I thought I liked it. It accentuated my muscles and curves well. I went to my dorm room. And saw it was empty. I looked around and nothing.
Y/n: Hello? -
Ruby: (In bathroom) Gah! - (Struggling) Hold on! It's just going to take a few minutes!
Y/n: Hahaha Okay!
I jumped on Ruby's bed and sat down. These past few weeks I've been making that that Fungt shu ninja game is something I've been consistently improving at. I played a few rounds and won all of them.
After a few minutes I heard the Door handle click. I looked and saw Ruby step out in a Red dress that looked like this.
I looked her up and down. Her checks had a tiny of red and she profusely smiled.
Ruby: (Embarrassed) Stop staring...
Y/n: (Jumps down) How can I not.
Ruby: (Tint of pink grew darker) Stop it! (Laugh) You look great too.
Y/n: (Chuckle) Thank you...
Ruby: (Walks to me with her arm out) Shall we Mr. Brunswick
I get up and blushed. I walked towards Ruby, and I interlocked my arm with hers and started walking.
Y/n: We shall Ms. Rose.
Ruby: (Looks at me) You're blushing. I've never seen you blush before.
Y/n: N-No I'm not. Plus, you do it all the time!
She laughed and we walked to the dance. She was having trouble walking but when she held on to me, she found it easier to walk.
Timeskip
We both let go and opened the door and Yang greeted us with a smile on her face
Yang: Oh my god you guys look beautiful.
Ruby had a go walking towards Yang on her own but she was struggling. She put her hands to the side trying to maintain what little balance she had already.
Ruby: Can we have a serious talk on how Weiss fights in these? (Takes another step but fall) Woah-
I caught her midway. She looked back and smiled. I pulled her back up and she put her arm around me again. Trying to hold onto more balance. That and trying to hold onto me.
Yang: What a gentleman.
Ruby: (Blushes in annoyance) Y-Yang...
Y/n: (Laugh) Let's go to the sidelines Ruby.
Ruby: Yeah!
Yang: I told you she would come.
Weiss: Mission accomplished.
Y/n: Great success!
Ruby: So... what do we do now?
Yang: Just have fun!
Ruby: (Tries to walk) GAH! Stupid lady stilts.
Ozpin: Not enjoying yourself?
Ruby: Oh! No. Everything's fine. I'm just not much of a Dansey, Pansey... Dancey girl.
Ozpin: Well, you can't spend your entire life on the battlefield. Even if you may want to.
Ruby: Yeah, that lesson's been floating around a lot lately. (looking at me)
Y/n: Wh... Yeahhh.
Ozpin: If you think about it, fighting and dancing aren't so different. Two partners interlocked. Heh. Although, one wrong move on the ballroom merely leads to a swollen foot.
(Ruby) Or a twisted ankle...
I laughed
(Ozpin) It's not every day that friends are able to come together like this. Time has a way of testing our bonds. But it's nights like these that can help keep them stronger than ever. Nights like these are ones we'll never forget.
Y/n: Yeah! Good man Ozpin. Spreading knowledge everywhere.
Ozpin: It was my pleasure Y/n.
He walks away.
Y/n: I swear everyone does that.
Ruby: Hmm?
Y/n: They say something smart or important and walk away.
Ruby: (Pondering) Yeah, I guess your right. (Looks around and sees punch) Let's get some punch!
We both walk there. I let her fill her cup and then I filled mine. I then saw Jaune approaching.
Jaune: So I see your hiding at the punch bowl too.
Y/n/Ruby: Yup.
Jaune: To the socially awkward.
Y/n: I'm not really that socially awkward but cheers.
We all chinked our glasses together. We all looked at the dance floor and Ruby broke the silence.
Ruby: Sorry things didn't work out with Weiss.
Jaune: Meh, It's fine Neptune's a pretty cold dude. I man not many people can pull of blue hair.
Ruby: But, Weiss came to the dance alone.
Jaune and I almost choked on our drinks I burst out laughing.
Y/n: What?! Weiss didn't get a date?! Phahhahhaha!
Jaune: ...Hold ma beer.
I was still chuckling.
Y/n: It's punch but okay?
He then left and Ruby looked at me and grinned. She held my hand out and ran to the dance floor.
Y/n: U-Uhh if we're gunna dance I know one, It's called beep beep ima sheep.
Ruby: Nah, let's just do what everyone else is doing.
She put her hand on my hip and another interlocking mine with them stretching outwards.
Y/n: I've never danced before. Well... I havent dont type of... eloquent dancing before. I can break dance.
Ruby: Me neither. Let's just see how others are doing it.
We saw that other people were sidestepping in a pattern. So we did the same however Ruby dug her heel into my shoe it was quite sharp so it hurt quite a bit. I winced in pain and she hit panicky.
Ruby: U-Uhh! I'm sorry! L-Let's just take a break!
Y/n: No no no. Keep going.
We then went again. I placed my right hand on her hip and we interlocked out left and to make it face to the side. This time it was more fluid and less forced. After 30 seconds we really got into it. We went slowly to the melody and got it on beat.
Y/n: Can I tell you something?
Ruby: (Nods her head)
Y/n: These past 24 hours have been the best 24 hours of my life because of you, you know that?
Ruby: (Nods her head)
Y/n: And you know if you don't want to do this anymore. We could always go back to being friends like we were a month ago.
Ruby: (Shakes her head)
Y/n: I feel so much better having a teammate like you I can put my trust in. Don't you?
Ruby: (Nods her head)
Y/n: Alright... Now, Can I ask you one last question?
Ruby: (Nods her head)
Y/n: Can I kiss you?
Ruby: (Smiles) (Nods her head)
We both Stop dancing. And we learned forward. Our lips met once again. Her hands locked around my head and although she was wearing high heels, she pushed up made me smile in the kiss. I put my arms around her waist and pulled her towards me. It was magnetic and magical.We broke up the kiss and we both put our foreheads on each other like two boulders resting on each other. We stared into each other's soul. I looked at her silver eyes. And she looks into mine.
Ruby: I'm so happy you came to the dance Y/n.
Y/n: I wouldn't miss it for the world.
We then walked up to a balcony and just scanned the whole area and looked at everyone. Then Yang came up and talked to us and put her arms around our necks.
Yang: Ya know! I think we really needed this.
Y/n: Yeah! You did a great job planning it too.
She then tightened her grip causing us to choke.
Yang: Aww, Thanks! Weiss did a lot though too.
We then tried to stop prying ourselves of Yang and looked at Weiss sitting alone. Then Neptune came and sat down and talked to Weiss.
Yang: Yeah, well tomorrow it's back to work.
Ruby: Yeah!
Y/n: I can't wait for what fun lies ahead for us!
Yang: Yeah, me too! Although (She leaned it) It seems like you two were having loud on the dance floor. Ruby then looked at me and she flushed red and smiled nervously. I merely just laughed.
Yang: Don't worry Y/n! I know you would never break Ruby's heart.
Y/n: Y-Yeah.
Ruby: Well, I'm sure we can handle whatever is thrown at us.
We then heard laughing and we looked down.
Y/n: Except for that.
I then got my scroll out and started recording Jaune in a dress.
He then walked up to Pyrrha.
She then stated laughing really hard.
Pyrrha: hehheeHAHAHAHHA! You didn't have to!
ThatRWBYguy: She crazy
Jaune: Eh, a promise is a promise. Now do you wanna stand there, or do you wanna dance?
They then started dancing as I walked away as Ruby followed me.
We then saw a person jumping off building to building. Me and Ruby looked at each other and ran towards the building.
When we got there, we saw a man smiling and looking at the stars. Me and Ruby just ran past him. And went to the elevator to see more soldiers knocked out.
Y/n: This is bad...
We went up the elevator. When we got at the top, we saw a woman with a mask.
Ruby: It's not really a masquerade party so why don't Ya take off the mask.
Y/n: Yeah!
We then started running and Ruby fell on me I saw she just draw arrows at me. I didn't have my scythe on me, so I grabbed Ruby and rolled with her out of the way as the arrow flew past. Much to my Suprise the arrows lit up and they exploded sending shrapnel everywhere. A few hit me which drained my aura by about 15%
She then shot shards at me, but Ruby got in front of me and blocked them with her scythe. I stood to the side and shot her with my hand cannon. She blocked them and dodged a few.
I heard an elevator ding. We both looked to see the general we looked back to look at the woman. But she was gone. Ruby looked confused. I was slightly hurt by the explosion. But it only caused a slight limp.
Y/n: Hello Ironwood.
Ruby: Are you okay, Y/n.
Y/n: Just a scratch.
