The sun shines bright, and I do, too
At least, I try my best when I'm around you
I want to be strong, not this blue
But the storm grew stronger; the wind blew
Nonetheless, everyday is the same
I carry myself high with a smile on my face
But since it's cliché, I try not to say
How I'm hurt inside and it's truly a pain
But it's far from a lie
No matter how hard I try
I fall every time
With tears in my eyes
I'm sunshine until evening whisks me away
With storm clouds and thunder creating a fray
I cannot admit whether or not I'm afraid
I've lost all my words, I don't know what to say
But when the rain kicks in and the thunder fades,
The rain takes in all I have to say
Like blood being washed away,
I am free of a few more stains.
I start the next day,
Obstacles new and the same
All standing in my way
Waiting for the day
I finally learn my place
