Just like the eyes, the heart cries too; For every unshed tear, it let's itself bleed. With its pleas ignored... More

⌈ YESTERDAY ⌋

take me back to when i
was all fine,
so innocent,
reveling in its divine.

rewind,
take me back to when i
was just nine,
so free,
and of prime.

pull me out of this
wretched hole,
to a well,
and cleanse my soul.

free me of this anger
that i hold,
shine me,
and make me gold.

make me of some worth,
make me pure.
give me solace,
oh i adjure.

fill me with your love and
teach me to soar.
this pain i bear,
how i abhor.

restless with fatigue,
too pervaded by a dreamy languor,
sedate me,
till my conscious is no more.

now it's a new year,
a new day,
but i'm still the same me,
as i was yesterday.

my demons still chase me,
i'm still afraid.
there's nothing i can do
to make them go away.

This poem basically relates to a post I read somewhere where it mentioned how a calender has nothing to do with why your life is a mess.

The outcomes of your life depend solely on your words and actions, not the changing dates of the year.

A new year doesn't bring about a new you, it's the heart and mind that matures with time.
