Chapter 17 : IMY
Isabella's POV
" Hi "
"Hi?"
"I'm sorry that I hurt you "
"You are drunk , aren't you ?"
" Maybe a little " he confessed
"You can come inside "
"Yaa" he says and settles himself on Chris's bed
"You look tired " I tell him and he nods .
"I never wanted to hurt you "
"Then why did you ?"
"I can't tell you "
"I thought best friends share everything " I say
"But you said we no are longer best friends "
"I wanted you to fight for us but you never did "
"I didn't wanted to disappoint you "
"Unfortunately you did . I know if you weren't drunk , we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now "
"I know " he whispers
I sit on my bed and my legs start shaking .
I don't know what to say .
I'm angry at him but most of all , I'm upset .
"I missed you " he says
Amd that's when I lose it !
I know I should be happy that he actually missed me ,
that I was not the only one freaking out about my best friend's absence , but I got mad instead .
"You missed me ? Seriously Royal ?
Do you take me for a fool? "
"You didn't call me Ro " he mumbles
"That's because you didn't miss me .
If you had , you would have atleast texted or called or established some sort of contact . You could have came back home for holidays , but no ,
you didn't .
Uncle Nate and your sister missed you so freaking much that they came here just to see you but what about me ?
I couldn't come and when I actually did , I find out that my 'Ro' is the one missing "
He heard everything I spoke ,
then he took the table lamp and threw it on the wall beside me .
I find myself breathing heavily .
" I missed you all too . Do you know how much I wanted to come back to you'll ? But it hurts Izzy !
I'm afraid , what if all the memories come back again ? Then I'll realise that it is the same place when I saw her for the last time "
"Ro I'm here for you " I say ,
tears forming in our eyes .
I go and sit beside him but he slightly pushes me away while getting up .
But he ends up losing his balance and falls back on the bed .
"I think you should sleep " I say
He nods and lays on bed .
He closes his eyes and then says ,
"I don't deserve a friend like you"
"Well that's because you deserve someone better than me " I reply back but he has already fallen asleep .
I just continue staring at his face .
I ruffle his hair once and they are not as smooth as they were before because of the gel or whatever he applied to keep them intact .
I bend over and give a peck on his forehead . Just as I do so , I feel him slightly smiling in his sleep .
Then I take off his shoes and pull a blanket over him .
There's a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach that tomorrow we'll be back to ignoring each other .

I wake up , still yawning .
Then yesterday's moments flash back in my mind.
I instantly turn around to face Ro but instead I find the bed empty , blanket surprisingly folded as it was .
For a second , I thought that it was a dream , but then my eyes fall on a piece of paper .
'Thank you Izzy' , after reading it ,
I feel happy but then I also read what's written just below that ,
' But that doesn't change anything ' .
I don't really understand what he meant by that .
Does it mean that we are still anything but bestfriends ?
Isabella , it doesn't change the fact that he was the one who made that stupid clip viral , even though it's completely unbelievable .
Wasn't I angry at him ?
Wasn't I the one who was not gonna talk to him ?
You couldnt do that now , could you ?!
Let's see what will happen next !
Now I have to deal with exams .
I get ready for the day , Chris didn't pick my call which means he's still sleeping somewhere wherever the party was held .
After I reach college , I drink coffee and then go to attend my first lecture of the day .
After continuous three lectures and break where in Royal passes by me where in he doesn't spare me a glance nor do I do it ,
I find myself in the library .
The funny thing is instead of reading academics books , I find myself reading 'Forever my girl ' .
I promise myself just 50 pages for now , but don't move from the spot until I'm done with 100 .
I could have completeted it in one go but then I would have missed my dance practice and knowing I have already missed for a week , the dance instructor Lena won't be too happy about it at all .
Right now , I was in the dance hall , standing in the corner .
Jessica smirks at me but I ignore her just like I ignored Ro and the others' creepy stares which do nothing but remind me of the last event!
"Isabella you wait here after class,
I'd like to talk to you about something " Lena says
" Okay " I reply
After 15 minutes of warm up and then 45 minutes of dancing , almost everyone leaves the class except me and Lena .
" So you wanted to talk to me? "
" Yaa. You do know you have hardly a week or two for your dance practice?"
" Yes"
" Then Isabella, I dont expect you to miss any more sessions . After your exams , you'll need to take extra classes as well , am I clear ?"
" Yes I will "
" Good . Now listen, you are a good dancer in general but when competition comes into picture,
good is not enough so you have to put in more efforts as well .
You seem distracted today , is anything wrong ? Are you still feeling sick? Because if you are , then you must take proper rest "
" I'm fine. Thanks a lot "
" Alright . Call me Lena . I ain't much older than any of you'll . Next time try to focus on your hobby , it heals you "
" I will , thanks again " I say and leave the room .
After I freshened up , my phone buzzed for the second time and
Lucy's name flashes on the screen .
I finally answer the call ,
" You done with your practice ?"
" Yup"
" Okay , then meet us in the swim area, Chris is still swimming "
" I'll be there " I say and hung up the call .
I walk towards Swimming pool and internally hope that I wont face Royal .
I see Lucy , Harv standing in the corner of the swim area and I join them.
" Where's Chrissy ?"
" He's in the shower "
" So what are we doing here ?"
" Checking out boys " Lu said and
I look at her like she's grown two heads
" Oh please , dont give me that look , Harv is also doing the same"
" He's also checking out boys ??"
" Girls! Silly. Although I'd like if he checked out boys so we could have done it together "
" You do know that you are the only one asking your boyfriend to turn out to be gay " Harv interrupts us
" You can turn out to be Bi too" Lu responds
Seriously guys? Ha ha .
But my fake laugh get's converted into a fake cough, just as my eyes lock with the familiar aqua eyes .
He instantly looks away and let his left hand roam over his wet hair .
I might just drool over his sight .
'Bell he's your bestfriend and not your boyfriend ' ,
I remind myself .
Then it hits me , he's not even my bestfriend and I hate him just as much as I hate the fact that right now all I want to do is jump into the pool and splash water on his stupidly adorable face .
"Earth to Bella" , Lu shouts in my ear and I realise that I had zoned out .
"You do know that you are standing just next to me , right?"
"Yaa but I also know that you are eye-raping Royal "
"Not at all " I say and she gives me 'the' look !
Whatever .
Then Lu and Harv get engage in their weird conversation .
I continue looking at him , just that , he's swimming flawlessly and way faster than I do .
Which reminds me he doesn't know
I learned swimming from dad while he was gone .
I remember he tried to convince me and I still regret that I didn't let him teach me .
I mean who could deny such a chance , but you see , I'm crazy .
We were at the beach .
And I don't know how but he managed to convince me to enter into the water .
He freaking knows I can't swim for fudge's sake !
"Common Izzy , let's go a bit deeper " he says cheekily , trying to look cute and he is but I'm never gonna admit that .
"Ro I'm here because of you ,
I swear if you let go of me ,
I'll freaking kill you "
His left arm is around my waist and just as I say this , he pulls me even closer !
"I'm never letting go of you " he whispers and I don't understand why but my heart just skipped a beat .
I hug him tightly and whisper back , "You do know you are my best friend forever , right ?"
"Unfortunately " he says teasing and
I start splashing water at him which makes him laugh but still he doesn't let go of me .
I taste something salty in my mouth and that's when I realise a tear escaped from my eye and just like that I'm drawn back into reality .
I miss his laugh . I miss him .
I miss our moments , I miss our bond .
But I hate him , he broke his promise . He let go of me !
Once , when he moved .
Twice , when I showed up here and Thrice , when he admitted that he bullied me .
I need to hate him !
"BOO!"
"AAAA!!" I shout involuntarily and see Chris trying to hold back his laughter ,while Lu and Harv are already giggling and the others who heard me , just stared at me like I'm Isabella !
Then we go to grab a bite as we are 24/7 hungry !

*Early Update*
Because let's just say I'm making the most out of this Quarantine situation .
