“Oh wow you can't be serious, did you really say that to your history teacher??“
Historia couldn't help but laugh after her question as she rocked back in her seat and a chuckle erupted from me, tripping over my words as I tried explaining.
“What can I say, I hate her”
“Oh Eren, you haven't changed”
She laughed comfortingly as I laughed too. The evening was going better then I had expected.
After the convenient store, Historia had taken us to a restaurant about a block away where we sat, ate and caught up on things.
I aimed to keep the mood light hearted and I didn't want to dull her spirits by telling her of all the shit that's happened in my life. I would never want her to worry about me.
I watched as the blonde laughed and couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. She really had grown from the nervous little girl from grade school.
I noticed how her blonde hair would fall in her face as she laughed and the way her eyes scrunched up to her gleaming and contagious smile.
My eyes softened as she gained her breath and looked to me.
“Remember in grade school, when we pranked Jean by replacing his conditioner with a hair falling out peroxide “
Tears came to my eyes as I burst out laughing, recalling how we all lived in a hostel and Historia and I would meet up just to pull pranks like that.
We both laughed some more as we ate a bit by bit, enjoying each other's company.
“I wonder why you didn't bother keeping contact with me these past years Eren”
Historia rolled her eyes playfully looking to me as a sudden wave of guilt hit my chest and my eyes softened looking to her.
“I'm so sorry Historia, I didn't mean to-”
“Heyy, don't get sad I was pulling your leg kid”
She laughed while assuring me as I kept my guilt.
“No but I deserve it, I didn't mean to not keep contact with you. It's just everything happened so fast..”
I looked to her as I rubbed the side of my head nervously.
“I mean, you were the only friend I had and trusted and then one day I find out that you're not going to the same high-school as me and I didn't even get a chance to get your number or anything cause of how caught up I was…”
I had a hand resting on the table that I didn't realize was there until I felt her hand placed atop of mine as she gently squeezed it and I blushed, meeting eyes with her soft gaze.
“Its OK Eren, I'm sorry I just left as well… i missed you though like Alot”
She smiled as she rubbed a circle on my hand with her thumb and leaned in closer to me.
“Let's be thankful we met now rather than never”
It was as if in that moment, the background faded and all I could see was her and her ocean eyes. The soft gaze she gave me melted me as I subconsciously leaned in closer, our eyes locked and lidded as the moment took us away. Leaning in closer… and closer…. Until -
“E-Excuse me I'm I have the bill for you guys”
A nervous waitor stuttered, flushed to interrupt us as we both widened our eyes and blushed, returning to our seats and looking away as Historia nervously fixed her hair.
“Y-Yes of course, thank you haha - Leave.”
The waitor just dropped the bill on the table and dashed away as Historia was flustered and fixed her eyes on the bill as I couldn't help but laugh to ease the situation.
“You haven't changed either. You still look cute blushing like that”
“Could say the same for you. “
She shot back as my ears reddened and she chuckled, slipping in the amount needed to Pay and leaving the bill on the table as she slid out the seat.
“It's about time we get going, do you have anywhere I can drop you off? “
I slid out my seat as well as I looked to her and froze up the question.
“U-um not really… I can figure something out though - “
“It's decided then, you'll crash by me for the night ok”
She sweetly said as a bigger relief flooded my body. I felt… happy for once.
We reached the outside of the restaraunt as the parking lot was empty and it stopped raining, puddle filling the lot as Historia and I walked to her car.
“Hey Eren I never got to ask…”
My heart spiked as I looked to her back as she spoke.
She made a quick turn on her heel looking to me and continued walking backwards.
“How is your mothe- A-Ahh”
A puddle caught her by surprised as she slipped in it, right by her car.
As she fell backwards, in a splie second I lunged forward and caught her by her waist before she grabbed onto my hoodie and I held her in a dipping position.
Our bodies close together as our noses touched.
“O-Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see the…”
She trailed off as I lidded my eyes and we both fell silent, the tension between us growing as I saw her lid her eyes as well.
I felt her hands sensually brush up against my chest then to wrap arount my neck as I held her waist closer.
“Still...clumsy, just… Like…”
“Grade school..”
She breathlessly said as her lips parted and mine did too. I watched as she closed her eyes and leaned in forward and as if nothing ever felt more right in the moment I leaned in too.
This was it.
A kiss.
My first kiss that wasn't forced..
With an angel..
My heartbeat sped up like crazy as I soon felt her breath against my lips.
Mere seconds from connecting before I heard.
“EREN FUCKING JAEGER.”
My heart dropped to the voice as both our eyes shot open and we looked to the most terrifying figure to see in that moment.
“N-No”
Tears sprung to my eyes as my body trembled.
“You fucking brat.”
